Beautiful villa with lots to do with friends

We stayed as a group of 4 families with kids of ages 3-11. The pool, the media room, the play room, the basketball and tennis... All were a huge hit with the kids. That left the adults free to enjoy the gorgeous view and sunsets and cook amazing dinners in the open footprint kitchen and outdoor area. I highly recommend the place!

BEST VACATION EVER

This vacation home was everything our group could imagine. The house was absolutely beautiful and clean. The view from the home is AMAZING. The house was very comfortable and there was 12 of us. The kitchen and dining area was large, which was a plus for us. Although the house was great, the hospitality was the best. The housekeepers, and concierge made sure we had everything that we needed and made whatever we wanted to do happen. They planned all of our transportation and excursions. We have not one complaint about the home, everything was beautiful!

Great Friend Trip!

We had a great stay in an absolutely beautiful home! It’s breathtaking to walk in the front door for the first time. We thought it was a great floor plan to have one side of the house as the common living areas and the other side with the bedrooms. We had 17 ppl in our group with a broad range of kids, and every age group had a blast. This house is very kid friendly. The concierge service was very easy to communicate with and really did all the hard work for me. Lastly, the maid for the house was so sweet and always had a smile. She was truly a blessing to have around.

You want luxury? It's right here.

First of all, the house is exactly like the pictures you see on VRBO. As we know, this is not always the case. Perfect for group of friends or large families. High-end everything. We truly felt spoiled. You could hang out all day on this property, but there is plenty to do locally. Have a beach day, go golfing, mountain biking or walk around the local towns, which all felt completely safe. We would not hesitate for a second to rent here again. I only hope it would be available.

Incredible House

Staff was excellent, especially Ariana and Maria. Everything about the house was phenomenal. Location was a bit remote without access to vehicle but we made it work. Only issue at all was access to groceries/beach. The beach, restaurant, and grocery/liquor stores are too far to walk so we needed to arrange for transportation every time we needed something and that was not as easy as we hoped. If we had a rental car it wouldn't have been an issue as those things aren't that far. We decided we didn't want to rent a car as we weren't familiar with the area but if we did it again, we would definitely get at least one vehicle for short trips to the store/town. The location itself is incredible with phenomenal views but resupplying groceries/drinks was a little bit of a challenge without a vehicle at our disposal. Overall, maybe the best family vacation we've had and the accommodations were incredible. We spent a lot of time in the beautiful pool, game room, and bar/deck area playing cards. Wonderful family experience.

Unbelievable Vacation Home

Us, along with two other families, rented Casa Symbiotica over spring break. The owner, Mitch, and tropical homes were a pleasure to communicate with and very helpful. The home is even prettier than the pictures. We loved the division of the living/kitchen area and bedrooms in two different houses. We felt extremely secure and safe, as there is a manned gate along with another coded gated entrance. The view is spectacular! The outdoor living area, dining area, grill and pool were amazing. The kids loved the diving board! The house manager provided us with pre-stocking of groceries and lined up an amazing chef (Ander) who prepared meals beyond our expectations and his dishes were on par with the nicest restaurants in Houston. The location was great with lots of activities (surfing, zip lining, etc) just a short drive from the house. We throughly enjoyed Costa Rica and would definitely recommend the house!

Casa Symbiotica-Trip of a Lifetime

We had an outstanding stay at Casa Symbiotica. We travelled with three adults and eight children aged 8-16. The home was absolutely amazing, with the perfect amount of room for teenage and adult privacy and communal space where we made wonderful memories with family and friends. The kids enjoyed the game room and movie room the most and everyone spent a lot of time enjoying the outdoor space and pool. Magui, who acted as our host was super responsive and ensured that all of our excursions and meals were seamlessly coordinated. We elected to have cooks come in for dinners each night and selected a range of menus that satisfied both the adults and picky eater kids. Cooker Jorge Jimenez was with us most nights and did an amazing job getting fresh ingredients and preparing them with care. On our last night we celebrated a special family birthday with Chef Gilbert who was outstanding and even brought a cake with candle to help us with the festivities. Ariana, our maid was there 6 days during our stay and went out of her way to take care of us, and kept the house spotlessly clean and even did our laundry every day. Would definitely recommend a stay here!

Incredible sunsets

We are a family of 7 with 5 adult children. The house was very comfortable for us. The house would be equally comfortable for multiple families with many younger kids/teenagers because of the bunk room. We spent most of our time sitting outdoors, in and around the pool. The views and especially the sunsets were just magnificent. Throughout the week, we also enjoyed the workout room, the family game room with pinball and darts, the home theater and the basketball hoop out front. The restaurant in the community, Garcia Mar Vista, was delicious. On the last night we had Miguel cook for us at the house (set up through the concierge). Dinner was delicious. Had we discovered him sooner, we would have had him come more than one night. His price was very reasonable. Tere, our concierge was very helpful leading up to and during the week of out stay. Arianna and the housekeeping staff were delightful and kept the house clean and took care of laundry throughout the week. This was an added bonus for being on vacation. Overall we really enjoyed our time together at Casa Symbiotica.

Sensational Stay at Casa Symbiotica

Two families shared a week over the New Year holiday in this stunning home. We watched New Year’s Eve celebrations over two bays that featured at least ten different fireworks displays. Daytime views of seascapes and mountain vistas from this cliffside location are gorgeous in every direction. The master bedroom, with its floor-to-ceiling windows, is elegant and luxurious. Although it is a spacious four-bedroom home, the kids chose to all sleep in the “bunk room.” The boys enjoyed playing basketball every morning, the workout room is state-of-the-art, with splendid views, the infinity pool provided hours of monkey-in-the-middle and other water games, and when everyone needed a break, there is the theater room with eight cushy recliners. Amy and Mitch, the owners, were very accommodating. They recommended surf lessons for the kids, a great hit, as well as a private catamaran ‘sunset and snorkeling cruise.’ The housekeeper keeps everything neat—and even did our laundry. She also prepared several traditional, delicious Costa Rican breakfasts. We enjoyed eating out for our other meals. There are many local places to choose from…particularly memorable were the Surf Box and Taco Shack we visited after surfing. We can’t wait to go back! Pura vida-- Cortney and Devin Wascher

Our arrival at Casa Symbiotica was in the evening. We opened the imposing front door to a lovely courtyard, more like a tranquil zen garden with subtle lighting. Beyond was the blue glow of the large infinity pool, and above the twinkling stars of many galaxies. To our right the outdoor extended living space and behind huge glass doors/walls the beautiful indoor/outdoor living space beckoned,, fully appointed kitchen, two lovely seating areas, dining room and incredible workout room. To the left of the courtyard was the opulent master suite and movie theater and a sweeping staircase to the two king suites and the unique and very comfortable bunk room (if I dare call it that). We slept fabulously on our primo mattress and woke to the incredible unobstructed view of the Pacific Ocean, Brasilito, Playa Conchal and Playa Flamingo a quick ride down the hill. Everything in this beautiful home is set up for the comfort and ease of the occupants, and Frances the housekeeper couldn't have been more accommodating, keeping the house immaculately clean, having clean towels readily available and even washing our dirty clothes. We had been tempted to stay right on the beach but we are so glad that we didn't. Casa Symbiotica is just a 5 minutes drive from the beach and being above the ocean afforded the best of both worlds, an incredible view, peaceful tranquility and privacy. What a lovely lovely place.

A dream stay, stunning & wonderful

We shared 10 days during Thanksgiving with our great friends in Casa Symbiotica. When we initially arrived at the property the kids ran out of the cars & opened up the door and we heard this massive scream of excitement as they saw a lovely swimming pool and some of the most amazing ocean views you probably will ever see. It sure was for us and we have been very fortunate to see a lot of nice places. The home itself offers luxury U.S standard incl. a gym & media room. As we were so high up we saw some absolutely amazing sunsets over the ocean around 5.30PM followed by a sky filled with stars. Food is great and we found more and more favorites as time went on but Coco Loco (Playa Flamingo) for sunset is a must. Surf box is a great local place for a tasty & healthy breakfast or lunch. There is also a great Pescaderia (fresh fish) just a few minutes down the road where we bought yellowfin Tuna to make Tuna Tartar/Poke at the house. Believe they fish on Tuesdays & Saturdays if I recall correctly. wonderful quality to the right price. We all love the outdoors and surfed a lot while there (some of the best spots in the world just around the corner) at various places like Tamarindo, Playa Grande & Avellanas (hit Lola's for lunch right there at the surf break). We also did some 4 wheeling as well as Zip lining. 3hrs away you have Arenal the volcano which is worth a visit. They offer some nice hikes which one goes down to the Fortuna Falls. Shortish but steep and beautiful hike. On a sidetone both of our families fell in love with the Marvista community and ended up buying a lot each before we left steps away from Casa Symbiotica. We have been back numerous times to Costa Rica and it really has become a place to have fun & to recharge. We hope this helps and that you will enjoy your stay in CR as much as we did! FYI, the owners Mitch & Amy are wonderful people and couldn't have been more accommodating when we had questions about where to buy groceries, wine & more. There was also a house keeper that made it easy for us and a contact person from the property management company that we had access to in case there were any issues while staying at the home. Christmas holiday

Gorgeous home in an incredible setting. Very private, gated, peaceful. Design of home is amazing with one side dedicated to sleeping and another dedicated to living. We especially liked the views, pool, spacious accommodations, how well equipped the kitchen was, and the movie theatre, basketball court and the most lovely housekeeper. Highly recommend! Our recommendation for improvement is two-fold. One: to have everything working or note it is broken during the walk through. Nothing was noted to us so we were surprised when we turned on the grill and saw flames shoot out from the knob, that the treadmill inconsistently worked, that several movie theatre chairs did not work and that the hot tub never got above 96 (even though it says it does). We expected the house to have better water pressure and hotter water in the showers. For example the bathroom at the very far side of the house we could only get warm water if the shower was turned at halfway. With no door it was sometimes cold. Two: We would have appreciated if we could recycle at the house. We were surprised in Costa Rica that this was not an option. This is a house best for people who can easily do stairs (given 2 bedrooms have steep stairs for access or access to a bath) and it might be good to note this so people are aware before booking.

We spent the holidays over Thanksgiving and had an amazing time. The house is beautiful the views are amazing. Nothing really to complain about. I am nitpicking the houses on top of a very steep hill so it makes it hard to get around the neighborhood

AMAZING VACATION HOME!! Hope to go back!

Casa Symbiotca was an absolutely amazing vacation home! It is very spacious and feels even bigger in person than what the online pictures show. The view is INSANELY pretty when you walk inside the front “door” (it’s an exterior door that opens to a covered breezeway that connects the living quarters, sleeping quarters and outside/pool area). We had 12 adults, including our 6 adult children and 3 of their spouses. There was plenty of room for everyone to spread out, and it even felt spacious when we were all in the same room Tere, our concierge from Tropical Homes of Costa Rica, did an exceptional job helping me with airport transfers, local dining reservations, securing chefs for multiple meals, arranging for massages and reserving our Adventure Day! Tere was one of the, if not THE best property assistant I have ever worked with. Our daily housekeeper was super sweet and a very hard worker. It was another benefit of this home to have it cleaned each day. The location of the property is up a steep hill so I would suggest rental car or hire drivers for any outing. We rented a small car from a local vendor, Economy, and had them deliver the car directly to the house (and pick it up) for a small fee. We used this solely to go to the grocery store and to shuttle people to Gracia, the restaurant within the neighborhood. This worked out well! Tere arranged for all of our other travel needs . The pool was awesome! Spent lots of time around it. We were so sad to leave!

Spacious Home

Our stay here was great. There were 11 of us (adults and kids) and there was plenty of room for all to sleep, and several common areas to relax, play cards, or watch television. 2 laundry rooms were very helpful. The pool and hot tub area had plenty of shade. The concierge, property manager, and housekeeper all helped make the experience worry-free. It was a short drive to shopping and beaches, and the nearby Mar Vista restaurant was very good. We had a few small hitches, but all were quickly addressed and remedied. Highly recommend this home!

Paradise in Costa Rica

Casa Symbiotica was the nicest house we’ve ever stayed in. The view was magnificent. The house is essentially separated into two areas: the bedrooms on one side and the entertainment area on the other (kitchen, living room, outside bar and grill, weight room). The house was perfect for a large family get together. It also has a movie theater room and game room with darts, ping pong table, and pinball machine. Needless to say it was hard to leave this place!

Excellent!

This property is gorgeous with unmatched views. The pool, diving board and living quarters are as good as advertised. Nice little hiking trails close by. Property owner was responsive and helpful. Would highly recommend!
