Hello. Welcome to our house. We call it The Abeling, after the Abeling's Mt View House which was here nearly a century ago. A hidden gem, Sacandaga Lake is great for boating, fishing and swimming. We are located near the top of the lake, and face south, down the neck of the lake.
Our beautiful three(3) bedroom house with four(4) beds, a large deck, 50 feet of Dock and 50 feet of sandy beach, it is perfect for families and friends to enjoy the lake. Directly on the lake, there are no roads to cross to get to the beach. Simply buy food and drinks, then park the car.
The house has Central Air-Conditioning and heating. We have also tried to fully stock our house with amenities. The kitchen has a dishwasher, electric oven and stove, full size refrigerator, steamer, blender, etc etc... The gas grill is right outside the kitchen for cooking convenience. If you're not the cook, relax at the comfortable island which seats four. Plenty of space to chat, sample, and taste.
The main living room is just off the kitchen. A vaulted ceiling, skylights, and fan make this room a breeze. The beautiful stone fireplace with vented hot air is perfect for those chilly nights off-season. Wall to wall windows facing out onto the lake and the deck below plus a 50in flatscreen Tv make the room easy to enjoy.
The master bedroom also has the vaulted ceiling and a ceiling fan, as well as large windows facing the lake . Additionally the master bedroom has a cozy sitting area to relax into and watch for our favorite neighbors- the bald eagles. Hidden in the hutch is a 30in flatscreen Tv with a dvd player, if watching for eagles is not your thing.
The second bedroom is next to the master, off the living room. It has a comfortable queen bed and large side window.
The full bathroom with tub and shower is next to the second bedroom. It is vented, heated, and air conditioned.
Moving down the spiral staircase to the finished basement, guests can see the sun pouring in and the large deck accessed through four slider doors. A lovely sitting area in the Sunroom is just outside of the third bedroom.
The third bedroom is downstairs. With a its own sliding door to the deck, walk-in closet, and pocket door for privacy; it is just steps from the kitchenette. This feels more like its own apartment.
The kitchenette is the utility kitchen for the deck and downstairs guests. It has its own coffee machine and Keurig, as well as a toaster oven, full-size refrigerator, dinnerware, flatware, drink ware, blender, etc...(but no sink) There is, however, a hot and cold large basin sink in the laundry/storage room just next to the kitchenette.
Nestled in, past the kitchenette and half bath is the den. Cozy and couch-filled, this room boasts a brand new American Leather Queen Sleeper Sofa with gel mattress. A large Tv with cable and dvd player, board games, books, cards, and puzzles are here to enjoy.
But all of this pales in comparison to the beauty of the lake. Relax and enjoy the lake from our table and chairs on either deck. Dinner outside, drinks outside, ...everything outside! The large stone-top table comfortably seats 6 and the smaller table seats 5. The elliptical lounge chairs do not disappoint as the sun shines on the deck almost all day. But fear not! If the sun is not your friend, we have a lovely oversized swivel umbrella that will adjust. Sit still, make the shade move to you.
Done relaxing up top? Relax down near the beach! Walk down the custom stone pathway to the lower deck. Table and chairs with umbrella are here as well.
Just a few more steps invites the sandy beach, when the Sacandaga allows it. Water levels do fluctuate. The dock begins here and extends out into the Great Sacandaga Lake. The dock also has moorings for boat and jetski.
The driveway is paved and flat, easy to park and unload. We are off the main road, quiet and convenient.
