This is a great home for business professionals and vacationers due to its easy freeway access to Hwy 101, 92, and 280 as well as to all 3 major bay area airports: SFO (15 miles north), Oakland international (31 miles east), and San Jose International (25 miles south). But public transportation is also easily accessible! There is a bus stop down the street and several nearby Bay Area Bike share stations. In fact, we are only a few blocks away from the Cal train. You can avoid the traffic, expense and hassle of commuting! You can even take the train into the hustle and bustle of downtown San Francisco. Additionally, there is a Zip Car station nearby too. Uber and Lyft are quickly and readily available here. Do a web search to find out more about our public transportation options. This home is also ideal for traveling nurses and other medical professionals as we are close to all the major hospitals in the bay area including Kaiser Redwood City (10 min walk from the house), Palo Alto Medical Foundation, Sequoia Hospital and Stanford Hospital and Clinics.
What makes this House unique
The home is located in the heart of vibrant Redwood City which is along the norther border of Silicon Valley. Redwood City is also the county seat of San Mateo County and we are within a 10-15 minute walk of the San Mateo Superior Court and Chamber of Commerce. We are known for "Climate Best by Government Test" and enjoy mild, sunny weather, on average, 255 days of the year. A multitude of restaurants, bars, coffee shops, banks, pharmacies, grocery stores, gyms and a new movie theater are all within a 5-10 minute walk. In fact, we rarely drive anywhere! We just load up the kids and stroller and walk everywhere for all our needs. Redwood City often sponsors a variety of free entertainment downtown near City Hall including summer movies, concerts, dance performances and art exhibits. Aside from the appeals and delights of San Francisco, you can also try a relaxing and romantic stroll along the beaches of Half Moon Bay which is only 15 miles away. The prestigious Stanford University and its world renowned Stanford Hospital and Clinics are only 4.5 miles away. Premium, luxury shopping in a garden setting at the gorgeous outdoor Stanford Mall is right next door to the hospital and university.

The place was very clean
Nice property, poor customer service
We've been using VRBO for over 10 years now, renting properties in many cities including Manhattan, Ashville NC, Savannah GA, DC, etc. and this is the first time we've had a bad experience with the Hosts; it seems that this is nothing personal on their behalf (could be bad past experiences with some guests).
Two main things stand out from their set of rules:
They make it very clear that they are monitoring you with their cameras at all times, even counting heads to see who comes in and out of the property. This rule made us feel like very uncomfortable/unwelcome; we are from Florida and don't know a lot of people in California.
They make you park on the far side of the property in case the rent the guest house while you are on the main property. They are very strict about this rule stating that they reserve the right to rent "guest house" at any time, which is a converted garage in the back of the property/you can see from all the rooms in the main property.
Having said that, this property is well equipped and clean, minutes from the highway, shops and restaurants.
Hi Ed, we're sorry you felt unwelcome with our cameras and parking situation but it is indeed because we've had very bad experiences in the past. Unauthorized parties that led to thousands of dollars in damages and people sneaking in extra people then stealing items from the home which led to the need for security cameras around only the outside of the home, none inside. We wish we didn't have to deal with the cameras as it is more work for us, but a few rotten apples spoiled things. Also, the parking situation on our street, as stated in our ad is very challenging as the city has started enforcing parking permits. There are often parking wars on our street and we've had prior guests very huffy about the situation. However, we are sorry if we were unclear that you are allowed to park in the studio spot if no one is staying in the studio. If no one is in the studio, there is enough room for 3 vehicles. Spacious home perfect for a large group
We had a great experience with this property. Everything was as promised and home owners were attentive and made sure we had everything we needed. Perfect for a larger group, plenty of room for everyone not to be on top of each other, and there were plenty of large bathrooms so no one had to wait to get ready. We had a wonderful stay.
Well appointed home
The house was a great place for a group of 8. Lots of bathroom space, kitchen and beds. Very well stocked with anything we needed. Great touch. Lots of extra towels. Convenient location. Property owner was easy to communicate with.

These property owners have thought of everything. Located close enough to San Francisco and all points in between. I had my 4 adult children and my mother with me and getting to Stanford took about 15 minutes. This home is in a quiet residential neighborhood.The challenges are parking if you have people visiting. There could be on street parking but it is limited at best but you do have your parking in the driveway. Amenities are top notch with modern appliances and the latest technology. The backyard is a wonderful place to grill out and enjoy your morning coffee.
