Cette maison de 3 chambres et 2 1/2 salles de bain est parfaite pour toute la famille pour une escapade ou un séjour prolongé. Le foyer ouvert, la cheminée en pierre et la spacieuse chambre principale font de cette maison un endroit parfait pour se détendre et profiter de toutes les merveilleuses choses que cette ville lacustre de rêve a à offrir. Idéalement située au bord de Guntersville et Albertville, cette maison est proche de tout. Le grand patio arrière et le gril fourni en font l'endroit idéal pour accueillir le prochain barbecue. Great get away

We celebrate our 27th Anniversary with this trip, we met friends for dinner at Top O The River . We fished at the lake, with the kids and really enjoyed the atmosphere great central location, we must return again soon. Great spacious clean house with the feeling of home ,we enjoyed our stay.

Really beautiful

Overall the place was beautiful they provided all of your linens pots pans coffee maker toaster and dishes really love the experience so much better than staying at a hotel room The only issue was difficulty getting hot water in the third floor bathroom and also the front burner was not working properly but other than that there were no complaints The property owner was quick to reply to all my questions

Great location. Good value rate. Quiet neighborhood. Improvement needed on cleanliness, uncomfortable mattresses & bed linens, and working conditions on stove. Pest control problem in kitchen. Property manager was great - good and timely communication. Easy access for entry and checkout. Place has awesomely potential, just needs some TLC.

Quiet, cozy cottage living

This place was great. Definitely more “cottage” than I needed, but waaaay better than staying in a noisy hotel with people on all sides of you. Easy access to everything but still had that “off the beaten path” feel to it. Rachel was responsive and friendly when I had an issue with the key box. Place was clean and unique with really cool features. Perfect place for a children’s author doing a school visit in nearby Blountsville. My first trip to Alabama? Great success! Thanks Rachel!

Nice Place

I liked this property, however we developed small ants in the kitchen. I informed Rachel and I have no doubt she will take care of it going forward but for us it sucked. Other than that it was quite cozy. Dog friendly yay! Plenty of supplies. comfortable furniture and beds. I wish there was better patio furniture to sit on to enjoy the deck. But all in all it definitely was a great place :)

Beautiful house, just needs some love and care

They need to work on the key box. It was very difficult to open. The front door storm door would not close. Kitchen was dirty. Two burners on the stove didn't work. No propane was available for the grill. The back deck was filthy. With a little elbow grease this place could be a showcase.

Nice and cozy but could use a good cleaning.

We arrived after dark so we couldn't see much outside. As we entered the house, it smelled very musty. The A/C was off so that contributed to it because shortly after we turned on the A/C, the smelled subsided. The next morning i went outside on the back patio to find that it was very dirty and hadn't been swept off and was quite dirty. I still gave it 4 stars because it beat staying in an overpriced hotel room.

Filthy

The property was extremely dirty & rundown. We had multiple wasps inside the master bedroom. I had to kill them with a roll of plastic wrap bc that was the only thing I could find. The dark room upstairs had a brown spider on the ceiling over the bed. Stink bugs were all over the home. When we arrived there were two big trash cans overflowing with garbage. That wasn’t a big deal, but inside the home was a big deal. The carpet hadn’t been vacuumed at all. We could see hair, a nail, hair pins, dried bugs & debris in the carpet. It was so filthy & bug ridden. The shower upstairs has cold water. It took at least 10 minutes to get a little warm. We left early & stayed at a different place. The only thing good about the experience was the availability & the host responded to messages quickly. Over all, this was beyond disappointing.It was a health hazard with all the wasps & filth.

Old cottage needs updating

Front porch & steps dirty and slippery in the rain. Lock box to retrieve key very difficult to open. Storm doors don’t close and lock. First step into house, I smelled musty old grandmother house smell. Not inviting at all. No towels laid out in MBR. Only 2 washcloths in house. Carpet beside bed in MBR was soggy wet from rain running under French door beside it. Smelled moldy. Shower had hair stuck to walls, floor dirty and black mold on lower door channel. Spider/cobb Webb hanging over the toilet which had a dirty ring around the water line. Night tables had crumbling tops on them. 2steps down into MBR caused several trips and falls as did the 2 steps up into master bath. No night lights or warning signs. Carpet throughout house looked to be from 1990’s and was heavily worn and dirty. No tissues anywhere. Had to dig under bathroom sink to find an old crusty hand soap bottle. Ants in kitchen throughout stay and pots & pans were heavily worn with teflon coating coming off. All lighting really dark. Exposed“Not to code” electrical wiring in many areas.

First time using vrbo and the last time!

Unlocked the door, The family walked in and “Bam!”smelled like heavy disinfectant, trying to cover up a hidden issue. First thought black mold. I knew right then, I messed up. Family walked through the property saw spider webs in the corners, on the fixtures, heavy dust on picture frames and light fixtures. The couch looks it came from a frat house. stains on bed sheets kids would sleep on the beds, kitchen floor was dirty around fridge, fridge was dirty, broken fridge drawers, microwave looked like it had a fire in side the glass was burnt. second floor bedroom above kitchen the floor was soft, if the carpet wasn’t doubled layered you felt as if you could fall through. Loose Electrical wire surround the door frames in the upper bedrooms. . Ummm??? Ok!!! Light Bulbs in fixtures mismatch. Master bedroom door to outside, the floor was soft and black mold was easily seen. Thought about leaving and renting a hotel room. Three people slept “on” the master bed. They didn’t even want to pull the sheet down. Kids couldn’t sleep, thinking about bugs and the air was hard to breath, complaining about head aches and asthma. Over all it was fantastic. Took photos of everything.

Disgusting

Summarizing my overall impression of the property DISGUSTING! We visit the area two to three times a year. We do have a normal rental we stay at, but it was not available this visit. So I can access this location and remembered we stayed here once 7 years ago and liked it. When we pulled up I didn’t recognize it. Trees were so overgrown you could not see the house. Unlocked the door and the smell hits you. A stale odor. Started unpacking and noticed dead bugs, leaves and food crumbs on the floor all over the house. Walked in to use the bathroom and there was drops of probably urine on the toilet. The owner was contacted and she said it’s disheartening that the house was left in that state for us. Someone had been there the trash cans by the road were over flowing and there were cigarette butts on the ground outback. The owner of the property is also A real estate broker in the area. Being in real estate and owning vacation properties wouldn’t you check on your property? She obviously doesn’t care about this rental or else it wouldn’t look the way that it does. Nothing in that house had changed in seven years. To me, it seems as if there is someone living in the house but living with very minimal personal items that when someone is going to rent the property, they are told to clean it up and that’s probably when they pack their stuff and leave while the property is being rented. My wife cleaned the rooms that we would be using for us to stay there. DO NOT STAY HERE!

Stay started very bad but ended ok

Was initially very unhappy when arrived at this location. The place smelled, toilet was broken, no clean towels or toilet paper, dirty floors/sheets, trash cans were all full of trash, etc. It was not good. I would have given 1 star. However, I contacted the host right away with all the issues and she responded immediately, was very apologetic and worked as fast as she could to fix the situation. The next day while we were away she had everything fixed and the entire place cleaned. It was a lot better. I do have to say that the host responsiveness and quick solution to fix the issues was excellent! Therefore I added a couple more stars to this review. I do have to say though that even when everything was fixed and clean, the place is quite out-dated and seems somewhat neglected. Much of the furniture is old and worn. The couch alone you cannot hardly sit on as you will sink to the floor. Finish on night stands are worn. Nail holes in walls throughout the place. Porch and deck was all dusty/dirty. Gutters and roof were full of tree debris; the rear gutter actually had trees growing out of them! The back deck needs to be replaced; it feels very sketchy to walk on. There was a dead tree right right along the side of the house. Anyway, I liked the location and the place has good potential but it needs a little TLC to get it in better shape. Personally I would not stay here again unless it was cleaned up better and updated.

Wonderful time in Alabama

We stayed here to attend a wedding at Burns Bluff. This home was conveniently located to everything we needed. It was spacious and well equipped. We never had problems requiring the owner but they made themselves available which was comforting.

Perfect getaway vacation

This was our first vrbo stay and has spoiled us for life......shady cottage was everything that we wanted and needed, Rachel was awesome to work with and had all the essentials and then some ready for our stay, the cottage was very clean and tidy, just a short distance from the state park.
