My husband and myself are both retired university professors from Montreal, Quebec, Canada. We love France where we have both studied and keep this appartement for spending six months or more in Paris each year. Lots of books and places to work are provided and we also spend a lot of time here with friends, that is why we have a large living room and dining room. We were specialized in Politicis and Law. We find France and french daily life completely different from Quebec and we enjoy following culturel and political activities. The place is organized for us to enjoy intellectual work independently. In Montreal, we are used to have 1,600sm apartment but we don't mind if Paris'one is only 64sm even for a long period since we also spend time in coffee places since there are two, one on the first floor of the neighbor building and one across the street. We can also eat there and enjoy local good french food. We need no car in Paris and life is much more simple with the subway just in front and the different close buses available. We also have friendly relations with our neighbors and the janitor of our building is a reliable person. So we like coming back to Paris and find this friendly surrounding. We are pleased with the idea of sharing our private atmosphere and comfort with those who love Paris or are curious to discover it.
Owner purchased this Apartment in 1998
Why Owner chose Necker
We have been studying in Paris for our PhD degrees. I have been working in Paris in a cooperation agreement between Quebec and France. When that term was over. we were sad to leave and decided to have our own place. In Quebec we dont have a vacation place, we have a garden downtown. But we are happy to have a vacation place in France.
What makes this Apartment unique
We first enjoy the location. Our area is not in the rushing places that some touristical streets represent. aT THE SAME, WHILE WE DONT SUFFER FROM THE NOISE AND STRESS OF THOSE PLACES, WE HAVE A DIRECT link with the buses and the subway. We also enjoy the fact that we are at the same time in a typical old time and modern area. We find all sorts of open shops with fresh fish, fresh vegetables etc. Also there are super department stores. Everything is close. There is a charming garden very close. An hospital for required consultations and so on. We would not change place. At the same time, the apartment is warm and friendly and has all expected services. It is also quiet. The bedroom is at the back and oriented south facing white buildings and an inside garden. There is plenty of light all around.

Wonderful neighborhood; quiet apartment
This rental is in the 15th arrondissement of Paris with excellent Metro and bus access. Neighborhood has everything one needs for a long stay in terms of shops and amenities. Tourist sites are easily accessible yet one also has the experience of living in the real Paris. The apartment is nice with its feeling of being a guest in a home, and it is calm and quiet. We found the owner to be responsive to all our questions and needs and enjoyed our email exchanges with her. We would not hesitate to stay here again.
It was a real pleasure to communicate with this person. We like the tenants to feel at home, as a personal guest. I did my best to answer all requests, informations coming from her. Renting is not only a business relation. It is a human oppotunity to exchange and respect each other. This tenant was exceptional in that sense. The apartment they left behinf after their stay was expressing respect and harmony. through cleanliness and order. Very rich communication.
Good location, convenient place to stay.
Nice apartment, had everything we needed for a comfortable 2 week stay. With the metro station and a bus stop across the street, we could easily make connections to wherever we wanted to go in the city. At the front of the building at street level there is a bakery where we bought fresh bread and croissants every morning. 2 blocks away is a grocery store. The kitchen had what was necessary for a home cooked meal if you don't want to eat out every day. Several restaurants and bars are within walking distance. The bedroom is located facing a courtyard so it was quiet in the evening. The two sofa sleepers are at the front of the building. There is some street noise at night, but not really loud. The neighborhood seemed very safe day and night. The owner tries to answer all questions quickly. We would recommend this apartment to anyone looking for a nice place to stay for a relaxing trip to Paris.
Nice apartment at a convenient location.
Apartment was nice. Loved the decoration and location, perfect for a family of 4. Very nice neighborhood with little restaurants and markets. A couple of bakeries at walking distance. I loved the one right below the building. Owner was always available for questions.
Thank you. It was a real pleasure to rent the apartment to some people who liked it and were so warmly thankful. We could follow your back and forth and realize how much you have enjoyed Paris.
Spacious apartment, great location
This spacious apartment gives you the experience of real Paris living. It is very conveniently located across from the Metro and a Velib bike station in a safe family neighborhood filled with all the varied French markets, cafes, and bistros. Anne is wonderful to work with and was very accommodating with all my requests. I stayed in the apartment for six months during 2015, and fondly remember my Paris home.
My husband & I rented this apartment for a month, in July. I should have written a review before now but I kept forgetting! The apartment was very comfortable & cosy and looked just like the photographs and was as described. There are a lot of shops within walking distance - we loved the markets. There are plenty of places to eat nearby - we did eat in the apartment quite a lot though - there is an excellent dining table where you can dine in style & comfort. Transport to get you round the city is excellent, and it is easy to undertstand even if it is your first time in Paris > the Metro is just across the road and there is a bus stop round the corner. However, for the first two weeks we were there we walked most of the time. The wifi in the apartment worked very well and so did the television. Communication with Anne, the owner, was very good. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in your apartment, Anne.
A Delightful Parisian Experience
A wonderful location for a month in Paris. A beautifully decorated and warm apartment complete with everything you'd need. The photos are "for real"...it is as good as it looks. And just as fine -- the 3 buses across the street that take you almost anywhere you'd want to go in Paris, from the Louvre to Fouchon to the "Grand" department stores. A neighborhood filled with both French and international bistros where quality and price match up, with a very traditional market street just a couple blocks away. Madame Legare even leaves her shopping trolley to assist you to and from shopping expeditions. I was tempted to take it down the street to the remarkably uncrowded branch of macaron mavin Pierre Herme!
The apartment and neighborhood are quiet and very safe, and within easy access of everything you'd want in Paris.
Frankly, I hope to make the apartment an annual event.
Easy access to all Paris exciting places, Tour Eiffiel, Champs Élysées, Arc de Triomphe, Place de la Concorde, L'Opéra, l'Hôtel de Ville, Le Marais, Le Louvre, Rive Gauche, Bibliothèque François Mitterrand, les Quais de la Seine, all are accessible by bus leaving from downstairs. One block from the typical rue Lecourbe whit french open markets etc. Many open markets all around.
