Second Visit as Good as First
This was our second December visit to Mallard's Croft. We thoroughly enjoyed our family Christmas celebration. The house was clean and had everything we needed. I hope we can return.
Family Reunion Hotspot
I /we rented this home for a family reunion during the Thanksgiving holiday for approximately 30 people. The home was well-suited for families of all ages as well as easily accessible for families coming from Missouri Mississippi and Georgia. The home was well supplied any kitchen appliances and utensils and dishes glasses as well as wine glasses. There is a double oven but very small as well as frig for large group But (Tom let us use ovens and refrigerators in barn) and that worked perfectly. They supplied extra large trash bags and dishwasher soap for the “2” dishwashers. The bathrooms included shampoos conditioners and pump hand soaps in the kitchen and bathrooms. Towels and bedding was plentiful. Fire pit was supplied by owner after arrival. The grounds were perfect setting for kids to play outdoor games everything was really really well thought out. We did have one little hiccup first night there another family arrive thinking that had booked the same home on another web site and they stayed for over an hour trying to figure it out . A little unnerving. I would as a property manager make sure your booking sites are coordinated when property is rented out. I would’ve hated that to of been our group of 30 not knowing where to go what to do on a holiday weekend. That said we would definitely still recommend/come back. We appreciate Tom for all of the patients with the calls /questions and requests not that there were many but they were taken care of. Very much enjoyed and would definitely return!
Everything was perfect here! Highly recommended, house and host were fantastic!
It was very spacious for our family to meet there and hang out. We enjoyed the fire pit and letting the kids play in the yard. The house was perfect. We may have to rent again
Wonderful Family Christmas Vacation
This old farm house has all the modern amenities and is kept clean and well stocked. Our group of ten people, aged 12 to 82, was comfortable and had a great time. The skeet shooting was a lot of fun too!

About Tom & Lucy Green
In 2013 we purchased the 600 farm that we named Mallard's Croft. In Scotland, croft means small farm. Our first project on the farm was to renovate a ramshackled barn into an event center for weddings and parties. To see photos, visit We held our first wedding in the barn in the spring of 2014. Professionally, Tom has been reclaiming & reusing materials from old buildings for decades (for more info visit ). His first project at thirteen was helping his dad demolish and recycle the materials from a church in his hometown of West Point, MS. Since then he has reclaimed materials from buildings in Virginia, South Carolina, Tennessee, & Mississippi. Reclaimed antique wood and materials were used in the restoration of all of the buildings at Mallard's Croft. Our second project was to create a small cottage near the barn. This is typically where brides and their bridesmaids dress and spend time before a wedding. It is also available for overnight stays (when events are not being held in the barn). The most recent renovation is the farm house. We completed this in the summer of 2015. When events are not scheduled in the barn, the entire house is available for board meetings, family reunions, or a weekend getaway. We look forward to sharing our peaceful, spacious farm house with you. Our assistant, Tamar Wood, will be your primary point of contact. She manages the bookings for us and will arrange for you to be greeted when you arrive on the farm.
