Very well represented, great amenities for family fun.

  • 5 of 5

Very well represented, great amenities for family fun. Owners are fantastic with regard to maintenance, communication, and overall experience and helped us have a great family getaway vacation. The home and property are in great condition, and we took care of it as if it were our own. Calm bay, nice sandy beach for kids, and screened porch where the places that we spent most of our time :-)

Nice cabin and fishing

  • 3 of 5

This is a nice cabin with great fishing right off the dock. There is no real swim beach, just a small section of sandy shore. We enjoyed the screened porch room, outside fireplace and patio, and back deck overlooking the beautiful lawn and trees. The cabin sits on a clear, small lake with loons and gorgeous sunsets! This rental is not equipped at all for small children under age 4 but it is perfect for adults and older children. There are not enough life preservers provided for the canoe and paddle boat available. The cabin was short on silverware for our group of 10. When we notified Joan, she did bring some additional silverware for us. We were traveling from out of state and communication with the owners was difficult and frustrating as to arrival directions, furnishings available in the cabin, and eventual return of our damage deposit, which took three weeks longer than the contract stated.

Owner's Response: We appreciated the nice things this renter and our others have said about our cabin and their stays with us. Other than one renter, our sandy beach and nice swimming area has been enjoyed by parents and young children alike an many come back because of the well kept area we have. Unfortunately, at times we do have bedding, utensils, glassware and cooking items that disappear. We appreciate when our guests let us know if there is anything missing or out of order as we want their stay to be the best possible. Upon check in, we usually meet our guests at the time they arrive to be sure they check over the property and make sure it meets their expectations. This also assists us after guests check out so we can easily determine which renter created the issue. If we find damage, it usually will take longer than expected to return the deposit as we expect to repair what is done and get an accounting on what needs to be collected from the deposit to put things back to normal for our next visitors. While we have games and activities, canoes and paddle boats for our guests to use, we do make it clear that fishing tackle and life vests are the responsibility of our guests. We provide our guests upon request numbers of outside companies that will rent boats, life vests and fishing gear should our guests need them. These are unfortunately the items that seem to disappear the most so we ask that guests be responsible for their own. We have 4 kids ourselves and have family with multiple kids stay every year and we are commented continuously as to how nice the property is for kids, Grand-kids and families. It is an older cabin/house so there are steps when you enter the house, two up and several to the basement. If there are kids that crawl or need a crib, or need a gate to keep them from stairs, we do not provide those so we suggest to our guests that they bring their own. We live close by the cabin so we tell our guests that if they need anything, that they please call the numbers we provide for assistance. If there is difficulty finding Ken, then Joan can usually be found. Both cell and home phone numbers are provided and guests are encouraged to not hesitate to call if they need something or something is missing. We have enjoyed sharing our little piece of paradise with our guests. We appreciate those that treat it well and take care of it as if it was their own. It is a cabin and a great get-a-way. We have been lucky to have the good guests we've had.

Great place and nice people to rent from.

  • 5 of 5

Very comfortable and well kept home. We used the patio with outdoor fireplace and grill often. The owners were very attentive to any needs we had. The lake is a little small but the water is very clean, great for kayaking. We would definitely return.

Awesome Cabin on a great lake!!

  • 5 of 5

This house was perfect for our 3 families (12 total people)! Everything was there when we arrived, and the house was clean and ready to go. There was plenty of room, and the basement with the ping pong table came in handy on the one rainy day. Our favorite hang out spot was the sun porch, and was perfect for our late night card games. The lake is nice and clear, and the kids loved the swim area. Ken and Joan were great, and were always available when we had questions. I would highly recommend their place to any our friends!

Great cabin for multiple families

  • 5 of 5

We stayed July 26-August 2 and we love the cabin and its location. We had 8 adults and 5 children under 7 years old and we were very comfortable. The cabin was very clean and the photos on this website are accurate. We all enjoyed the sunroom and outdoor fireplace was great. We burned through a lot of wood and the owners came to chop more for us! The beds are comfortable and the basement has a fun ping pong table and board games to enjoy. The yard down to the beach is steep but manageable. We had fun going out in the paddle boat and the kids loved fishing off the dock and playing in the sand. The Brainerd area has plenty of shopping. We are planning to stay again!

Great place for family Fun

  • 5 of 5

This home was perfect for the week of family fun and relaxation we were looking for. The house was very clean and spacious. The fire pit was perfect for roasting s'mores. The paddle boat and swim area were enjoyed by all. On the one day it rained during our stay, our family made use of the ping pong table and board games located in the house.

We also liked the location of the house. You were secluded enough for it to be peaceful, but close enough to town to enjoy some shopping and restaurants the area has to offer.

Ken and Joan were very helpful answering any questions that arose. We would definitely rent this place again and will recommend this home to others.
