Escape to this beautiful house in picturesque Scranton. With 2 bedrooms including a king bed, queen bed, and futon, guests will have plenty of space to relax. The bathroom features a bathtub for a relaxing soak after a day of exploring. In addition, there is a cozy living room with an extra twin bed for added comfort and an air mattress. Enjoy all that Scranton has to offer when you stay at our place whether it’s bird watching, hunting, or fishing. Belhaven is only 15 minutes away and Swan Quarter even closer!

Nice Getaway

My wife and I have been coming to Hyde County for years to hunt and fish, this cottage suitet us just fine. Perfect location and an added bonus having fresh oysters just across the road. Quiet and well appointed and cozy enough for 5 guests. Owner is quick to answer if there are problems and very nice. We will be back next year, God willing.

Perfect for Guys Hinting Trip

We had everything we needed. The space was just the right size for 3/4 people. The outside was a little cluttered but didn’t bother us. I would offer a couple of recommendations: 1. Having some firewood for the wood stove would be a great addition. 2. A pullout couch would be better than the futon. 3. Need some space to hang hunting gear to help keep things better organized. We truly had a great time and space was great hope to come back next year!

The house itself was clean overall except some weird food remnants on the ceiling in the kitchen. However, the minute one opened the front door, the smell of stale cigarette smell smacks you in the face. We immediately contacted the owner who gave a slight refund. If this was not in such a rural area, we would not have stayed even as long as we did as we are non-smokers. At 3:30 in the morning, I woke up with a huge head ache and sore throat from the unhealthy air in the home. I contacted VRBO who couldn’t do anything unless they could contact the owner. I again messaged the owner who then refunded most of our money and we drove an hour and a half to a hotel to stay there for the remainder of our trip which was an inconvenience as our son and his family was in the area of the VRBO. I have stayed in a few dozen VRBO’s and I have never had one with poor air quality due to stale cigarette smoke. On top of that, some kitchen items like a cutting board, toaster, and a good serrated knife would have been nice for cooking the couple of meals we did cook while there. Also, allowing a broom to be handy to sweep would have been good as well, but all cleaning supplies were locked up. I know the owner is new to VRBO, but the unhealthy air quality should have been disclosed. For those who smoke, it most likely wouldn’t bother them.
