About this property
Blue Ridge Mountain Retreat | Sleeps 26 | Pool, Spa, Game Room | Family Reunions
Some vacation rentals have amenities. This one has a whole itinerary. Set on 5 private acres in the Blue Ridge Mountains, Hodo Hideaway is a 7,000 sq ft lodge designed for large groups who want space, privacy, and the kind of amenities that make everyone — from toddlers to grandparents — forget they have phones. Eight bedrooms sleep 26 comfortably. The mountain views are the kind you don't get tired of.
THE OUTDOOR EXPERIENCE The centerpiece is a private pool with a waterslide and an oversized deck made for long afternoons with a drink in hand and nothing on the agenda. Heating is available for cooler months. A 7-person hot tub sits nearby with open views of the Blue Ridge ridgeline — the kind of soak that fixes whatever the week did to you. When the sun goes down, the fire pit takes over. Multiple decks give your group plenty of room to spread out, and two outdoor grills mean nobody has to coordinate dinner indoors. A separate pool house with a clubhouse loft, half bath, and kitchenette handles cold drinks, snack prep, and overflow storage — keeping the chaos outside where it belongs.
THE INDOOR EXPERIENCE Inside, two full living rooms — one upstairs, one down — give your group room to split up or pile together. Plush sofas, beanbags throughout, smart TVs with streaming on every screen, and fast WiFi mean downtime is actually restful. The movie theater seats 15 in stadium-style chairs with a full heap of beanbag loungers for overflow, all in front of an 86-inch screen. This is not a "we hung a projector" situation — it's a real theater. The game room is stocked with a pool table, air hockey, and a trampoline. A private office with two desks covers anyone who needs to check in with the real world. In the backyard, a wooden swingset and clubhouse with a safety-fenced perimeter keeps younger guests occupied while the adults handle the important decisions about what to have for dinner.
THE BEDROOMS Eight bedrooms across two floors sleep 26, with configurations for couples, families, kids' bunks, and even an infant. Upstairs The Family Suite — King bed, twin bunk, attached private bath with jetted garden tub, walk-in shower, and a private nursery access door. The nursery includes a crib, glider, and ottoman — everything you need, nothing you have to pack. Bedroom 2 — Two queens, Jack-and-Jill bath with tub/shower combo, hallway access. Bedroom 3 — One queen, shares the Jack-and-Jill bath with Bedroom 3. Bedroom 4 — Two twins, full hall bath with tub/shower combo nearby. Bedroom 5 — King suite with walk-in closet, walk-in shower, and a separate jetted tub. Private attached bath. Downstairs Bedroom 6 — One queen, private attached bath with tub/shower combo. Bedroom 7 — Two twin bunks. Bedroom 8 — One queen, one twin bunk. Bedrooms 8 and 9 share a full bath with stand-up shower. Game Room — One twin bunk for the guest who wants to fall asleep ten feet from the pool table. Additional: Half bath in the pool house. Outdoor shower adjacent to the pool house.
LOCATION Minutes from downtown Blue Ridge — restaurants, shops, and the scenic railroad. Lake Blue Ridge, hiking trails, and local wineries are all a short drive. You're tucked away enough to feel completely private, close enough to everything that you're never stranded.
GOOD TO KNOW The road to the property is a narrow mountain road. In winter weather or snow, 4WD or AWD is strongly recommended. A rental agreement is required prior to your stay — we'll send it over promptly after booking.
We're proud to host your group at Hodo Hideaway. However you're celebrating, whatever brought everyone together — we hope this place becomes the backdrop you come back to.

House is lovely and very accommodating the large group that included kids from Seattle to Concord, MA to Pittsburgh, PA. A good time was had by all! Scenery is beautiful to just sit and take in!
We loved the house and we all had fun! The only minor issue was the odor in the pool house. Since we were only going to there to get drinks from the fridge, it wasn’t a big deal
Beautiful property however was disappointed that most of the bedrooms did not have televisions and dressers. Most did not have closets or hangers either. Also, some of the steps leading to the pool were needing to be stabilized and the vegetation was covering part of the stairs. For a house that holds so many I would suggest an updated fridge with icemaker to accommodate. If you weren’t one of the first ones up to fill a cup you didn’t get ice and Jo other fridge had icemaker.
Other than the trash on the ground around the trash bins when we first arrived, everything was great. Thanks for responding to that situation so promptly. The property is beautiful. We really enjoyed ourselves.
Very clean, the host was super responsive, and everything was kept up well. Lots of fun pool toys for the kids and loved the trampoline in the basement
Beautiful Mountain getaway, you can tell this property was custom developed to make memories and fellowship in. Please respect it so it can continue to do that for all blessed to visit.
Host was super easy to communicate with. House could use a few touch ups on walls and stairwells. Outdoor area was great for group gatherings and conversations.
Large enough for everyone to spread out and intimate enough for everyone to come together. With a better cleaning crew and a little care of the building and grounds, it will be spectacular.
Nothing like the photos. Ladybug infested, old and not clean. Hair in sheets, appliances falling apart, towels were small, no soap, seems as if the house isn’t used ever. It’s not safe tbh. It has shakey stairs and uneven floors. I do not recommend this home. It’s nothing like the photos.

Thank you for sharing your feedback. We genuinely care about every guest's experience, and reached out after check-in, again before departure, and once more after this review to learn more so we could make things right — we unfortunately never heard from the guest once, so we weren't able to address these concerns directly.
Since this stay, we've completed a full renovation and refurnished the home throughout, with updated photos to reflect the changes. We always welcome guests to reach out with any questions before booking, and we're happy to help however we can.
This place is MASSIVE! It comfortably fit the 20+ family members for our annual family vacation. The pool and hot tub were wonderful. It overlooked the mountains and had plenty of space for the 6 or 7 cars we had. Absolutely would recommend to any large groups for a beautiful stay in the mountains!

Our group of 22 ladies enjoyed a long weekend in this fabulous house! The beds were super comfortable, the view off the back porch was beautiful and the owner was quick to respond to any requests!

The picture of the house is the back of the house. The front of the house is a ranch style house and not a cabin look. The house needs some upgrades to the bathroom especially. The shower knobs were wobbly. The main living room has one small blue sofa and not the white sofas pictured. The sitting at the dining room table are metal chairs and not comfortable at all. The space is decent just in need of updating and painting.
The most amazing house! We used this for a bachelorette of 17 ladies - there were plenty of comfy beds, bedrooms, and bathrooms for everyone; the pool house had plenty of counter space, a fridge, and a bathroom which was great for bringing down drinks and snacks so we could all swim and have fun together; the gazebo and lounge chairs were great for relaxing and talking, the multiple common areas and game room inside meant many great options to socialize and have large meals indoors; and the stars were amazing at night from the fire pit. The hosts were very responsive to all our questions. Would recommend this house to anyone - we hope to return with other friends in the future.
Dayna and her team are excellent hosts! We loved the home and the location! There is so much to do at the house that you wouldn’t need to leave, but there are also attractions nearby for excursions!! Our family had a wonderful time. We would definitely stay here again. Thank you, Dayna!
