A LONG WEEK IN A DIRTY HOUSE LAGUNA BEACH

We were extremely disappointed by our stay at this home. After we were given the key and the agent left we discovered that the freezer was not working. It appeared to not have been working for a long time but this was never disclosed. The freezer was never repaired during our entire stay. After an hour or so in the house we started to notice that the house was extremely dirty. There was a dirty film on all of the counters, the bathrooms were some of the dirtiest bathrooms we have ever seen and the entire lower level smelled of dog urine. It was so bad that we had to hire our own cleaning crew to just make the house livable.

Perfect place for old friends to have a new experi

This Property was an incredible and delightful experience. The location, décor, amenities were equal to the breath taking views, beautiful beaches and wonderful Laguna Beach were nothing short of perfect. We are six long time friends getting together and a frankly pretty demanding in our tastes and standards. We were all blown away by the owners amazing taste — we all loved the way the décor mixed beachy comfort with such lovely antiques, books and paintings — hard to pull off and done with impeccable taste and style … we were all taking notes and pictures. The owner put together a special favorite picks of restaurants, shops and beaches, as well as art galleries, farmers markets and great things to do … even where the best free yoga outside classes are at the beach. We swam in the ocean, hiked in the hills and walked along the cliffs, had lunch at Moulin and Zinc, shopped in the villager and had dinner at the Montage, talking all the time. In the evenings we sat out on the patio and drank champagne and took in the gorgeous views. It literally could not have been a better celebration of friendship. We cooked together in the beautifully appointed and fully equipped kitchen . There is a wonderful feel about this house …giving us great space to be together or provide privacy to read a book while still being a part of the group. Brilliant design . We have already planned another visit for next year. Highly recommend this beautiful home for its charm, location, comfort and feel that made our vacation extraordinary.

Clean, beautiful, accessible--great for family

Anyone who plans a stay in Laguana Beach should book this rental. It is well situated to the town. The beach is within walking distance. The ocean view is breathtaking. The house is tastefully decorated to complement the feel of a New England cottage with plenty of comfortable furnishings. Gorgeous hardwood floors, beautiful paneling. Every bedroom is appointed with comfortable from cozy beds, comfy chairs, fluffy towels-- all decorated in restful tones of sand and sun and blues. windows open onto greenery. The spotless adjoining baths leave nothing wanting. The upper floor is designed on the open concept plan with plenty of family space for dining and prepping meals accompanied by the ever-present panoramic view. The well-appointed kitchen was nothing short of amazing. The deck opens off the main floor--mornings were especially nice--wandering out on the deck with our coffee. Laguna and the surrounding area has great bistros and lots of interesting shops. Visit Balboa Island and don't miss the sunset on the boardwalk on the beach. Our family enjoyed every minute, will be back!!

Unique luxury beach house with extraordinary view

We stayed in this extraordinary home for five days following Christmas 2014. As other reviewers have mentioned, the pictures do not do it justice. This home was lovingly designed, built and furnished by its owners with attention to beauty, comfort, and most importantly, presence and appreciation for experiencing a spectacular view of the ocean. During our stay, the weather was warm and we opened the double french doors to the bricked, wrap around porch to let in every bit of sea air and soft winter light. Not that this is all that necessary as the top floor of the home has beautifully cased windows along every ocean - viewing wall. Other delights in the home include a well stocked gourmet kitchen with a six burner Thermador range/oven, new appliances (dishwasher, microwave), luxury linens and comfortable beds, four living rooms, and four large bedrooms including a large master suite with a marble bathroom with a double sized whirlpool tube and double glassed in shower. The house was also spotlessly clean. Finally, Diane the homeowner is the consummate hostess. We spoke with her before we arrived about things to do in Laguna Beach including how to find the best walking beach for my 85 year old father. During our stay we had an elder health issue and Diane coached us on the best ER and how to find emergency care. We also received a number of great travel tips from Diane on local beaches (don't miss Crystal Cove Beach & State Park), best place for brunch with a view (Las Brisas), and where to find a great restaurant without reservations (take a walk down Forrest Street). You would be lucky to get to stay in this gracious and comfortable home. It's a one-of-a-kind experience and the best VBRO or AirBnB we've rented. We'll try to nab another stay every time we are in Laguna and are already planning our next visit.

Exquisite and Charming , Truly One Of A Kind Beach House

This is one of the most unique and beautiful homes I have ever seen . I manage a luxury hotel for a living so I certainly understand high end. But what this exquiste gem of a Beach House had was a charm and personality which lifted our spirits each morning and made us comfortable and happy each evening. The views were spectacular and watching the sunset over Catalina each evening was a joy. The style was understated and individual and the beautiful finish details were everywhere . The kitchen with its fireplace and white marble countertops and island was so much fun to cook in. three choices of dinnerware - the kitchen equipment was excllent. I honestly couldnt believe it when while making pancakes in the morning, I watched as whales were passing by. The master was incredible as well with a library, fireplace and a view from the Jacuzzi tub in the master bath. The beds and linens were excellent quality and the property immaculate. The Beach nearby was beautiful surrounded by cliffs. I have always loved Laguna and have stayed in many great places but this vacation and this lovely beautiful home made this a very special vacation. Our family gets together once a year in Laguna and this will be the place we will return to .

Wonderful Beach House Terrific Stay

Our family met in Laguna Beach to celebrate our 30th wedding anniversary. Our 3 sons and their wives joined us. The House was incredibly charming, the pictues do not do it justice. Beautiful wood floors, wonderful wood beamed ceilings and tasteful furnishings. The finishes throughout the house are exceptional. The house was immaculate and very well equipted. There are pacific blue water views from almost every window . The bedrooms were spacious and nicely decorated. This house is really designed for congenial gatherings. We had a wonderful time cooking together in the beautiful kitchen and could visit with each other as all the principal flow so beautifully. There is an ourdoor terrace that is surrounded by the dining, kitchen and living rooms, with a wonderful blue water view. We had our coffee there every morning. The owner was very thoughtful, welcoming us with fresh cut flowers and a lovely bottle of wine. The master retreat is also worth mentioning, spacious and beautifully appointed. I also wanted to mention that the location is very fine as well. The local beach was a very short walk from the house and is really wonderful. Laguna has so many great restaurants and everything was an easy walk as well. We hope that we will have the opportunity to come back to Laguna and this home next spring. We had such a great time we want to make this a family tradition

Incredible Charm and Breathtaking Views

My husband and three (college age ) kids came together from all over the country for a family vacation in Laguna Beach. This Home was absolutely incredible. The décor was that of casual but elegant sea cottage but incredibly bright and airy. The finishes were just tremendous with custom made tiles, natural stone and beautiful wood moldings. The house had such a welcoming feeling. I counted over 40 windows and most had an Ocean view. While the Pacific views were great it was also the views of the cliffs where they meet the water as you looked down the coast. Some views were white water. There was also an amazing view of Catalina Island which was breathtaking. Crescent Bay is the closest beach and we could walk there is just a few minutes. We also took picnic lunches . In the evening we would walk over to Crescent Bay Point (above the beach) . There is a small but beautiful park with outdoor art and sitting areas where you can watch the sun set over Catalina Island . We were lucky enough to see the release of recused baby seals from the Beach early one Saturday morning. They hit the beach and are gone in just a few minutes but it was great to see . We also saw a whale from Crescent Bay point. Back to the House. It has two floors and a family room on each so we had lots of space . The main floor is an open plan where there is space but you feel together. There is a wonderful porch that wraps around to a terrace with a straight out water view. It spacious enough for all of us to sit . The master retreat was really special with a fireplace and library area for sitting and reading. At night with the French doors open you can hear the waves and also seals from Crescent Bay. We even had a water view from the glass enclosed shower in the master. I especially loved cooking on this vacation as the kitchen was a dream. Great views and wood burning fireplace in the evenings. The Kitchen was very well equipped and everything of good quality. There are 3 more bedrooms on the first floor and even the ceilings were finished with hand painted clouds. There are beautiful wood floors throughout the house. The attention to detail in this house was amazing. We liked the location as well. It was an easy walk to the main part of Laguna where all the restaurants and shops are. There is also a small local trolley that runs nearby. The neighborhood is all residential and very quiet. Working with the owner was great

We are married 23 years and raised a beautiful family of four in our Pacific home. We custom build this home ourselves, both being architecture enthusists and its design and decor is lovely. We were also assisted in the homes design by noted interior designer featured in House Beautiful and Cottage Living. The house is truely a haven of grace and peace.

We spent 3 years selecting the location for our home and another 3 years in the planning and building of our custom dream home. This house is considered one of the most lovely in Laguna and had been featured in magazines, television and on architechtural tour.

Modern build and conveniences with a timeless feel. The care and attention to the interior finishes and wood moldings throughout is extraordinary. Each fireplace was hand crafted and finished with special touches such as hand made blue deft tiles. One of the most unique features of the house is that is appears to be a small house from the street to scale to the vintage neighborhood but once inside unfolds a charming and practical floor plan which is 4000 sq ft living space all oriented to maximize the ocean view.
