We enjoyed our stay. The place was very small, but it served our purposes. Great for our pups with a park nearby to walk them. Walking distance to downtown Beaufort was ideal. Diane was a great hostess & met our needs.
Thanks so much and good luck with your search for your home in Beaufort, or wherever the Lord may lead you
This little house was a perfect, clean, quiet rest for us! Close to fun and park pass provided by owner allowed us daily entrance to Hunting Island State Park.
Thanks so much...Glad you enjoyed the quiet little nest. Hope to see you again. Sincerely Diane
Absolutely beautiful and perfect for couples!
We loved the Pigeon Nest so much! Diane’s property is just gorgeous and the tiny house is equipped with everything you’d ever need! The location is incredible, only a 3-4 minute drive to Bay Street where all the good local shops are! Can’t wait to come back!
Thank you so much. I enjoyed meeting you both and loved your beagle Louis, what a sweetheart....I am looking forward to your next visit.... Stay well, and keep shining your beautiful smile..
Friendly owner, cute space as listed. Will return when able. Felt very relaxed.
So glad I got to meet you both… I’ll leave the light on for you
Established in 1711, historic downtown Beaufort boasts a scenic waterfront park with an array of alfresco dining options--locally caught fresh seafood, steaks, Lowcountry barbeque, burgers and gourmet flatbread pizza. Relax on the riverfront green space with its swinging benches for a great view of the river and the marina. Sit a spell and watch the bridge swing open for the tall masts of sail boats gliding past on the Atlantic Intracoastal Waterway, see porpoises play on the tides of the river, and witness breathtaking coastal sunsets over the water.
To learn about Beaufort's 300-year heritage, take a boat tour along the river, travel through the city's historic streets in a quaint horse-drawn carriage or walk the streets with a guide dressed in period garb. Linger in the quaint downtown shops loaded with antiques, clothing, gifts, furnishings and more. Peruse the many art galleries featuring the works of local Lowcountry artisans.
Beaufort is the ideal base for all of your Lowcountry and Coastal Empire excursions. The Sea Islands and Atlantic Ocean are just a few miles from downtown, so be sure to visit Hunting Island with its historic lighthouse and sunny ocean beaches. And Beaufort is ideally located for day-trips to Charleston, Savannah and Hilton Head Island--only an hour or so from each destination.
In Beaufort, you can sit and enjoy the sun and water while you sip your favorite beverage, or you can fill your days with boating, kayaking, beachcombing, fishing, sightseeing and history--it's your choice. Welcome to Beaufort, South Carolina's coastal paradise!
About Diane McIntosh
I moved to Beaufort from the Pennsylvania Amish country to enjoy the beauty and tranquility of the coast and the sunshine. Living in Beaufort has renewed my spirit and introduced me to many new friends, while allowing me to share the beauty of my new adopted home town with my friends from Pennsylvania. I have always enjoyed entertaining and decorating, so my cozy cottage in Beaufort allows me to indulge my favorite pastimes.
Diane McIntosh purchased this Cottage in 2011
Why Diane McIntosh chose Pigeon Point
My husband and I vacationed in Beaufort a few years ago and fell in love with the historic charm of the town, its friendly, welcoming people, the wonderful waterfront restaurants and the natural beauty of Beaufort by the sea. This is a magical place to begin a new life! Unfortunately, My husband passed away in January 2011, so I made the "big move" alone. I know he would be proud of what I have been able to accomplish.
What makes this Cottage unique
I love to sit on my cottage's porches and enjoy the river breezes, the shade of the huge old Live Oak trees draped in Spanish moss, and the peace and tranquility of my river neighborhood. The Pigeon Point dock and deck are less than a ten minute walk, you can catch a sunrise if you are an early bird, and if not, just turn around for a beautiful sunset to the west. No matter when you are there, be sure to keep an eye out for the playful dolphins.
