About this property
Come enjoy the Blanco River!
Our home is a 2.5 story house that is right off River Road in Wimberley! Guests will have private access to the second and third floor. Our private residence is below the main floors.. We have 3 bedrooms that will sleep 6 in queen size beds and 2 bathrooms. Full access to kitchen, large deck on 2nd floor and small balcony on half story above. We do have a Pak n Play available for our guests who need one.
We do not provide the linens and pillows for any additional sleeping arrangements. So if there is a 7th or 8th person, bring sleeping bag or air mattress. The price is based on 4 people and there is a $20 for every additional person. We try to keep the price low so smaller groups can come and enjoy the peaceful setting.
Beautiful sunsets, lots of wildlife (deer, turkeys, foxes, raccoons and birds) very relaxing. 3 miles to town square, close to wineries, outlet mall, Gruene, San Antonio, and Austin! Walking distance to river and 2 large, private park areas along river belonging to subdivision. Gas grill for cooking on the deck and a fire pit in the back yard. We also have a barbecue pit that uses wood or charcoal that is available for use.
Nestled in the Wimberley hills, you will experience a peaceful setting at our house with a full-size kitchen, fire pit, propane grill and also a charcoal/wood grill for outdoor cooking, easy access to the river, relax on the new deck watching the sunset & wildlife or visit local wineries, The Square, lavender gardens, etc. We provide our guests all of s'more fixings for making in the evening at the campfire!
We have just redone the large deck, third floor bathroom and third floor balcony. What a view from that balcony!! You will see deer, birds, squirrels, maybe a little fox!! Very peaceful and relaxing. Enjoy a book or a glass of wine or a nap!
We will interact with the guests if they like, but if it is solitude they want, they can have that too. We do live downstairs on the first floor, but our guests have their own private entrance to the second and third floor. There is a locked door to our residence downstairs (door is in the kitchen).
We do allow for up to TWO small-medium sized dogs (less than 40 lbs) for and additional $50 pet fee per dog. All dogs must be kept on a leash once outside the house and are NOT allowed on the furniture. If excessive hair causes our housekeeping more work, the cost will be passed on to the guest....so please sweep/clean up the dog hair. We require the dog(s) to be kept in a kennel when guests are not in the house with them. We love dogs and welcome them, but we want them to have a safe, fun visit as well!! Cedar Oak Mesa is a deer friendly neighorhood. Dogs should be quiet, calm and under control at all times. Our deer in our yard are very special to us and excessive barking scares them. We do not want the deer to run into the street and get hurt or killed.
The towels provided are for our guests bath/shower only and not for the river or pets. Please bring your own towels for that! There will be an additional fee if towels are used and dirtied at the river or for dogs.
We do have high-speed, reliable internet for your use!
If getting out of the hustle and bustle sounds good...Wimberley is just the place to relax. We are close enough to Austin, San Antonio, New Braunfels and many wineries. Please feel free to inquire with any questions you may have regarding our property.

About the host
Hosted by Richard and Donna Hatch
Richard and I have been sharing our home since Dec. 2015 and have met many wonderful people from all over. We enjoy meeting them and then we give our guests their space! We live on the first floor and the guests have separate and private space on 2nd and 3rd floors.
Richard is retired Lt. Col. in the Air Force and I am a retired private investigator. We have two dogs and one cat that live on the property with us and are very, very friendly. We both enjoy meeting and greeting our guests, but if you want solitude - we will provide that too!
We are available for information, starting campfires, visiting, directions, etc.! We live downstairs on the first floor. We want our guests to have a wonderful experience in Wimberley.
My parents built the house in 1984 and Richard and I inherited it. Our daughter mentioned that it would be fun to share this house with others and so we decided to start this new venture in December 2015. We love meeting our guests and then giving them their space to enjoy everything Wimberley has to offer and to relax on the deck. If you have any questions about our property, all you have to do is ask.
We hope to see you at Campfire Dreams.
