The glass part of the house is stunning! We wanted to spend all of our time there, and wished that we could enjoy the view from the kitchen and bedroom too. We opted to sleep on the fold-out bed in the glass room instead of in the below-ground bedroom. It was a nice experience!
The Mirror house was just the perfect place for my wife and I to getaway and reconnect! The house itself was very clean, warm and beautifully decorated. The hot tub, sauna and upstairs “glass room” allowed us to feel as though we were at a spa allowing us to relax and spend time just being together. The natural views and “isolation” helped us to feel like it was just the two of us. This is an ideal place if you are looking to get away with the one you love.
My wife and I spent three nights here and overall had a great time. The hosts were thoughtful — they left wine and commemorative mugs as a welcome gift and were responsive when we had questions.Highlights: The glass room on the upper level is the best feature — quiet, peaceful, great for birdwatching (we spotted a baby deer!). The sauna is a nice perk, a bit tight for two but does the job. The lawn down to the pond is scenic; bring camp chairs or a picnic blanket. There is a bench as well. Brattleboro is 10–15 min away. Hosts stocked sample toiletries and useful kitchen staples.Things to know: The hot tub is locked at 104F — too hot for us for extended use. Could not find way to unlock. There’s also a pan/tilt camera on the deck with the hot tub in full view, which made it hard to relax. Moving it to a house corner closer to the driveway would help achieve the peace and privacy we were looking for. The lower level is humid. Dehumidifiers and AC run constantly (bring earplugs for sleeping if light sleeper). Check the dehumidifier daily; it filled up twice in 3 days. Cell service is poor to none; Wi-Fi works well. Watch your head under the spiral staircase — low clearance, my wife hit her head. I recommend adding some kid-safe type foam padding to the underside of stairs. Main entrance is through bathroom (quirky but fine). Bed is comfortable but soft and squeaky. Bring coffee pods — the Keurig is stocked but mostly with decaf and hot chocolate.Overall, a memorable stay.
