We adored this house. Spacious, full of character, close to everything. Booking again next year!

We truly loved our stay here. The location is ideal - very short walk to the beach, ten minute walk to the heart of Rehoboth, but set off enough from the bars and restaurants and hotels that you really felt a sense of calm and relaxation. The screened in porch was heavenly. There is so much space inside, with wifi and cable. 1.5 bathrooms really made a difference for a group of friends traveling together. The outdoor shower was a fun extra too! The kitchen was a full, useable kitchen (unlike many places I've stayed before that have only marginally workable kitchens). I would definitely stay here again - and I plan to!

Great family beach vacation!

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I stayed here with one of my sons and his wife, and three of their friends visited for a couple of nights. The home was incredibly charming and comfortable, and well equipped for our stay. We ate out some (loved Henlopen City Oyster House!), and cooked a number of meals at home. Thanks for having a grill!

We loved that we were only 1 and 1/2 blocks from the beach and pleasantly surprised to find that 2 chairs and an umbrella had been reserved for us at the beach at the end of the block.

There's lots to do nearby and I hope to come back sometime with our other son and his family.

Thanks again for a wonderful visit!

Charming house close to the beach

  • 5 of 5

I stayed at this house over labor day weekend with seven friends. All of us were immediately won over by how beautiful the house was. This isn't some recently refurbished place that feels hollow and cheap. It feels like a home. The house has a lot of character and the kinds of details you can only find in quality older buildings.

We loved:

- the outdoor shower

- the screened front porch

- how close the beach it was

- how nice and accommodating the owners were

I would recommend this place in a heartbeat to anyone.

Great, Relaxing Getaway

  • 4 of 5

This property is a very charming home that I believe is nearly 100 years old, but has a nice upgraded kitchen. It is very close to the beach in a quiet old neighborhood. It has been in the owners' family since it was built, and the owners are very nice and responsive to emails, calls, etc. One of the members of the family lives in a rear house (there is no back yard) and seemed eager to help. I had to attend a funeral for a good friend on the Friday at the start of our rental window, so we weren't able to arrive until Saturday. They actually offered to extend my stay. Unfortunately, I couldn't take them up on it, but it shows they're a class act.

The bedrooms were comfortable. Don't expect closet space- there's virtually none. That's not something we care about. Oh, and HomeAway says linens "are available". I interpreted that as the home having linens. It didn't. Whoops, had to drop $150 at Target for sheets and towels!

The living room/dining room were open with vaulted ceilings and beams. The front porch is nice and breezy. There is only one bathroom, and it consists of a clawfoot bathtub with a shower curtain wrapped tightly around it. Not so great. However, they had a nice outdoor shower, and we used that for all of our showers (my wife tried the indoor shower once and didn't like it at all). I do think the wall of the outdoor shower needs to be up a wee bit higher - I'm fairly certain we were visible showering from the neighboring home's upstairs windows. The home was very clean and well-maintained.

We'd never been to Rehoboth Beach before. In fact, we're not shore people. What a nice surprise. The beach was awesome (they included chairs and an umbrella with the price of the home, and the "beach boy" will put them in a primo spot for you, just tip him a couple of bucks). The town was really nice, classy, with great food. This house is a perfect launching point for enjoying all the area has to offer.

All in all, we were very happy. The bathroom situation is the only thing that would make me think twice about renting again. But I'd still probably do it.

Authentic historic beach house

  • 5 of 5

My family and I have stayed at this lovely beach house for several years, usually during the month of August. If you are looking for an authentic taste of Old Rehoboth, this is the place for you. The house is only a block from the beach and within easy walking distance of all of the shops on and around Rehoboth Avenue. Every year that we return, we notice tasteful improvements that the family has made to the property. They are always working on it, always updating and enhancing the house's beauty without sacrificing its historical quality. At night we can hear the surf from the front porch, or wander down to the beach to look at the stars and the Cape May lighthouse. The house is a great place to chill, visit with friends and family, and remember what life was like before we spent so much time rushing around in cars. From this house we have biked to Lewes, on through Cape Henlopen Park, and back to Gordon's Pond and home. So much beauty in the historic section of Lewes and the landscape of Cape Henlopen with its dunes and seascape. We also enjoyed walks all over Rehoboth including along the boardwalk and the lake. This house is a great place to spend time away from the city each summer.

Great beach home!

  • 5 of 5

We stayed with friends including 3 kids and a French bulldog! The house was great and felt like home right away. Super close to the beach and boardwalk so we left our car parked all week. Great place if you have young ones, lots of room for them!

Owner was awesome even dealing with a toddler hiding the keys and my husband leaving his laptop behind. Will def come back!!
