About Vicki deVille

I am a native Portlander and also a property developer/interior designer. I lived in Hawaii for 29 years but have come back to Portland to spend time with aging parents and grandchildren. I have traveled extensively, spending time in more than 74 countries and know what to expect in a fine hotel.

Vicki deVille purchased this house in 2001

Why Vicki deVille chose Portland

This home has a unique sense of character and the location is wonderful. It is an easy stroll to Downtown,, the Saturday Portland State farmers Market, NW 23rd Street and to the Pearl. A $5 taxi ride back up the hill makes it easy for those who don't want to walk back. There is also a bus stop right across the street.

What makes this house unique

This home was built in 1950 by Eric Ladd who re-used pieces of the historic Portland Hotel which was torn down that year and stood where Pioneer Place is now located. I purchased the White Stag Windows from the Rebuilding Center and added to Mr. Ladd's legacy by using them to define the suite you will be staying in.

This lovely private get-away is conveniently located to everything Portland has to offer. I will be happy to recommend reestaurants and other venues. The deck is gorgeous with heaters, up- lighting, chandeliers and a wonderful atmosphere. It can be used except during stormy weather when you would want to be downstairs snuggled up to the fireplace anyway!

The best place to stay in Portland!

  • 5 of 5

We love this place! This was our second stay, and we'll be back next time we're in Portland. The location is very convenient to the Pearl district, on a hill overlooking parts of Portland, and the views are marvelous. We love the amenities, the furnishings and decor. Vicki is a gracious host and talented artist. Our stays have been lovely.

Simply amazing

Although we were only at the historic suite one night it was more than we could have imagined! Vicki was so so sweet! She greeted us right as we showed up and gave us a quick tour of the property! She was even sweet enough to ship me my toothbrush that I forgot without any hesitation! She really went above and beyond!!! The design and atmosphere of this VRBO are one of a kind. I felt like I was sleeping in a Victorian castle. The bed was extremely comfortable and there was coffee for us in the morning. And I can't forget about the views. On the views. The deck was our favorite part about this place. It was so spacious and welcoming! And looking out at downtown Portland was picture perfect. Speaking of downtown, it was only a 7.50 uber drive to downtown, which was very nice! When (not if) we come back to Portland we will absolutely be returning to this VRBO! Thanks again for everything, Vicki! I can't recommend this place enough!!!!!!

This artist's studio is a classy and comfortable home away from home. We loved it!

  • 5 of 5

We enjoyed so many things about this beautiful artist's studio apartment. Owner Vicki has combined historical treasures with modem finish carpentry and delightful touches to make this place a peaceful urban hideaway that we will return to whenever we come to Portland again.
