Don’t. Just don’t.

Don’t bother booking this. Several problems from the get go. Broken storm door that wouldn’t close, which flapped and banged all night long (host acknowledged it was broken in a recent storm). Dirty dishes left on top of microwave - complete with an apple peel and a coffee creamer plastic seal in the bottom on the coffee mug. Add 1 gallon of bed bug spray under the bathroom sink — grossed out entirely. Then - the kicker. The breaker popped because I dried my hair. Reported to host - he called but I was out getting a coffee - so, asked if I could call when I got back to the rental (30 mins or less) - he agreed. When I returned, I called several times - texted - and he went 100% silent - after knowing there was an issue, and a call time was scheduled. He never answered. I called VRBO for help - they moved me to a nearby hotel after they couldn’t make contact with him. Later that night — I think 5-6pm (mind you - the hair dryer incident was before 9am) he tried to call and begged me to call him for instructions to reset the breaker. Told him he was too late for that - I was already out & gone. I asked for a refund - and he clammed up; saying let VRBO take care of that - if I already reported the issue to them, ‘they can take care of it’. Disaster. Lost a whole day of vacation because of this nonsense. Between chasing and non-answered calls to the host, then with VRBO customer care - and being moved (which I’m thankful for), I spent 10+ hours to deal with this mess.

Weekend Getaway

Overall description of property was accurate. Upon entry of place it was quickly noticed that the floor of the bedroom and shower were sandy. The shower and sink also had hair in them as if they weren’t cleaned before our stay. Other than the cleanliness discrepancy, it was a nice stay. Location was very convenient for doing activities both in Norfolk and VA beach.

A Nice Cozy Place

The place itself is wonderful. Everything was clean inside and the shower and bathroom is quite spacious. There is a TV with cable, a microwave , and a fridge. There was even some instant stuff in the drawers you could use for coffee and such. Pretty much everything you would need. The owner was very easy to reach. He picked up immediately when I had a problem with the door. I felt very safe being there by myself with the dog. The only reason it's not a 5 is the neighborhood and the yard. I came down for Samoyed Nationals with my dog who was going to be showing. I unfortunately got there during the tropical storm so the yard was flooded when I got there. Not the owners fault, but it was a bit rough to get my stuff in without it getting wet. I had to carry my dog in so she wouldn't get too dirty as I was showing her in breed. I had to put on my shower shoes to unload the car as the water went up to my mid calf. The roads surrounding the property remained flooded for my entire stay. I had to be careful where I drove as there was standing water everywhere. Despite this, the room remained very dry! The yard is also not totally fenced in as it is in front of pretty lake. There's a part of the yard that is open to the boat launch. I wasn't able to let my dog out off leash due to that and the standing water in the yard. It was a minor inconvenience but not a deal breaker for sure. I enjoyed my stay a lot despite those things and it was a nice place to get away for a bit.

Little Suite

Best to stay in this place with a significant other since it is very small. AC unit is very loud but you may be able to fall asleep if you like white noise. Communication with manager was 50/50…sent a message and received no response about check out procedure.

Mold in AC Unit

I rarely leave reviews but must in this situation. Arrived at property at 5pm to a dirty shack. Sand all over the floor, dirty bed, and dirty towels in the bathroom. I couldn't get ahold of the owner so I called VRBO. Finally they got ahold of the owner. He refunded the pet fee for the inconvenience. My daughter and I went to the beach for an hour while we waited for the unit to get cleaned. When we got back we quickly got ready for bed and I turned on the AC unit quickly without looking at it. The next morning, I looked at the unit after staying up all night because it was so loud. There was so much mold and dust and dirt in the unit. I can't believe I let my daughter and I sleep in the shack while breathing in mold all night. Needless to say we did not stay another night. If you are a light sleeper you need to find somewhere else to stay if you plan on using the unit while sleeping. Anthony said he would refund for the nights we weren't staying but I have yet to see it and on top of that the refund he wanted me to refund the pet fee back to him. Other items that were broken or a mess. The screen door could not close all the way. The blinds would not stay up. The chairs had stains and one arm was completely broken, Rust stain behind the toilet. Unfinished light above shower. Also this is not a mother in law suite. There is no kitchen or any way to cook a meal. But I guess I got what I paid for since it was $60 per night.

Sweet Room

This rental is perfect for one person or a couple. It’s close to the beach and is in a quiet neighborhood. It has all the amenities you’d need and a lovely patio. Owner is always available.

Stay worth the price.

This trip wasn’t too expensive but that came with its’ faults, flipped a breaker using the hair dryer and air conditioning at the same time. Multiple outlets non functioning. Grill was nice to have as there is no kitchen in a mother in law suite. Overall good stay just little irritations to deal with.

Right by the beach

Exactly as pictured, and less than a five minute walk over to the beach. The AC is as loud as other reviews say but didn’t bother us at all. Recommend eating at World of Good and Cova Brewing.

Nice but small

It's really small but that doesn't matter so much if you're going out a lot. The AC is very loud but that was a good thing for me personally. But overall it was a nice stay.

Nice property

It was a very nice little place to stay for the price though there was a very constant dog smell in the main room and the bathroom. Overall still a very nice place to stay.
