Amazing lake views at the La Porte Lily Pad

Welcome to La Porte! The perfect starting point for all of your NW Indiana and SW Michigan Adventures. You'll find great style and thoughtful touches throughout this home. Amazing lake and sunset views from upper and lower decks. Walking distance to the beach on Stone Lake with boat launches on Stone and Pine Lakes. Paved biking and walking paths nearby. You'll find quality restaurants and shopping in downtown La Porte. The fantastic beaches on Lake Michigan are only 15 minutes away! The home is a 3 bedroom, 2 full bath hillside ranch. You enter the main level into a foyer. 2 steps up take you to the main level family room with large sleeper sectional and 50" smart TV, dining area with table that seats 10+, and fully equipped kitchen. The 2 bedrooms on this level offer king size beds and 43" smart TVs. The full bath is a combo shower and whirlpool tub. The upper deck has a grill, outdoor seating, and party lights making it an amazing spot to take in the sunsets and lake views. The lower level is for entertainment. It features another huge sleeper sectional, 65" smart TV, and game space. The bedroom has double bunk beds and colorful dog artwork to make it a fun space for kids. There is another full bath on this level with a standup shower. You'll access the lower level outdoor space through the sliding glass doors with an open deck and a screened in gazebo area. Relax on the adirondack chairs around the firepit enjoying the views or making s'mores! There are 3 kayaks and 1 standup paddleboard available for guests to use at their own risk. 4 adult life preservers available. Other sizes may be rented locally. These may be used in the pond behind the house in the early season before all of the lily pads come in. ***Note that there are train tracks in downtown La Porte block away. When a train goes by, you will probably hear the whistle. Train schedules vary greatly so there is no telling how often you will hear it while vacationing. ***Note that if you are bringing infants/babies/young children, the unit is NOT baby-proofed. (Furniture is not secured to walls, outlet blockers are not included, cabinets/drawers are not locked, etc.) You assume responsibilities for all guests. You will have access to the entire house. All of the beach toys, wagon, chairs, 3 kayaks and stand up paddleboard will be in the shed. The garage is used for storage and will not be accessible for guests. As your hosts we will be available to communicate through the AirBnb app. If you need to contact us in an emergency, cell phone numbers are provided in the guestbook. Quiet, residential neighborhood mostly occupied by families. Walking distance to the beach at Stone Lake. If you're looking for a great starting point to explore all of the great beaches, wineries, restaurants and adventures available in Northwest Indiana and SW Michigan, La Porte will not disappoint! Michigan City is just 15 minutes away, New Buffalo is 20, The Journeyman Distillery is about 25. Even Notre Dame Stadium is only 40 minutes away! Avoid all of the South Bend craziness by staying here! Park in the driveway or some street parking is available on the block. Beach, walking and biking trails nearby. Just a short drive to chain restaurants, grocery stores, independent shopping and family owned restaurants in downtown La Porte. Due to the location of the dishwasher, it needs to be pulled out and at a slight angle to open the door full. If it's not, it will bump into the stove. This will be addressed in a future remodel.
