About this property
Hot Tub Cabin · Sleeps 6 · Fire Pit · Dogs OK
Stowe is an original log cabin that's been brought forward without losing what made it worth keeping. White-painted exposed logs, a wraparound deck with string lights, an electric fireplace anchoring the main floor — it's the cabin that feels most like a cabin, and that's exactly the point.
Named for Harriet Beecher Stowe — who paid close attention to the world around her and understood that the most important things happen when people are present with each other — it's one of four cabins at Notestone Reserve, our family-owned 14-acre property in Laurelville.
Perfect for families and friend groups of up to six who want the full cabin experience — original log construction, wraparound deck, electric fireplace, dogs welcome.
What You'll Love
• The wraparound deck — string lights, wooded views, nowhere to be • Electric fireplace on the main floor for the nights that call for it • Hot tub tucked under the covered lower deck — ready in any weather • Fire pit that earns its keep once the sun goes down • The shared game room just a short walk across the property — pool table, arcade, 85" Smart TV, and more
Sleeping — Sleeps 6
• Loft: king bed • Main floor: king bedroom • Lower level: queen bedroom • Pack 'n play available on site — just give us a heads up. Bring your own sheets if needed.
Outside
• Wraparound deck with string lights and wooded views • Woodburning fire pit — firewood stocked and ready near the fire pit when you arrive • Hot tub tucked under the covered lower deck — protected from rain and sun, usable year-round • Propane grill with tools
Main Floor
The kitchen has its own space — fully equipped with everything you need to cook a real meal. The main floor opens into a living and dining area with an electric fireplace, dining table, and a conversation corner worth settling into. Bluetooth speaker on the main floor.
• No garbage disposal or dishwasher — worth knowing for longer stays • Kitchen stocked with basic pantry items to get you started • Starter kit on arrival: paper towels, a kitchen sponge, and trash liners. Worth packing a little extra for longer stays.
Bathrooms
Two full bathrooms with showers — one on the main floor, one on the lower level. Each stocked with shampoo, conditioner, body wash, hand soap, and lotion. Two rolls of toilet paper per bathroom to get you started — worth packing extra for longer stays.
Lower Level
• Queen bedroom • Living area with 65" Smart TV with streaming capabilities • Arcade machine • Game table
Dogs Welcome
Up to 2 dogs per stay. One crate provided. Dogs must stay leashed on the property and off the furniture. A $100 pet fee applies per stay.
The Shared Game Room (open to all Notestone guests — a short walk across the property)
• 85" Smart TV • Pool table and foosball • Basketball arcade, classic arcade machines, and a racing game
Getting Here and Getting Around
Notestone Reserve sits in the heart of the Hocking Hills — close enough to hit two or three trails in a day and still be back in time for the fire.
• Rock House — 3.3 miles · 7 min • Conkle's Hollow — 8.8 miles · 15 min • Old Man's Cave — 11 miles · 20 min • Ash Cave — 16 miles · 28 min
Cedar Falls, Cantwell Cliffs, and the rest of the state park system are all within a short drive. Cell signal on the back-country roads can be spotty — download your directions before you leave home.
Under normal conditions the driveway is accessible in just about any vehicle. During winter months when ice and snow are a factor, we recommend 4WD or AWD for the back roads leading in — the driveway to Stowe itself is typically fine without it.
About the WiFi
We run Starlink satellite internet. It holds up well for most things — streaming, music, casual browsing. Video calls and long phone calls can cut out occasionally, especially on overcast days. If you're planning to work remotely, it can work, but plan for the occasional hiccup. We'd rather tell you upfront than have you find out mid-Zoom.
A Note on the Setting
We're in a wooded area and stay on top of regular pest control. That said, a ladybug or a curious spider showing up is just Hocking Hills being Hocking Hills.
Check-in: 4:00 PM · Check-out: 11:00 AM
A Few House Rules
We're a small, family-owned operation, and keeping Notestone calm and well-kept is a group effort. A few things we ask:
• No parties or events, including bachelor/bachelorette groups. And no glitter — it genuinely never goes away. • Registered guests only on the property • No smoking or vaping anywhere on the property, indoors or out • No fireworks, ATVs, hunting, or weapons on the property • No commercial photography or video without written approval • Hot tub: striped towels only, keep the cover on between soaks, and please don't adjust the temperature • below 100 degrees — it takes several hours to recover • Septic system: flush toilet paper only, no garbage disposal at the sink • 4WD/AWD recommended during winter months
Before You Arrive
All guests sign a short renter's agreement after booking. We'll send it over — quick, painless, and it helps us take good care of you and everyone else on the property.

Very peaceful and private setting, high up in the treetops. Wonderful cabin for our family of 3 and our dog. Great fire pit, great community game room, great hot tub (we did not use). Very clean and great amenities (kitchen and bath). We would highly recommend!
Absolutely wonderful property! All that is described and more!! We had a very comfortable stay. Clean, accommodating to pets, and lots of fun activities in the cabin and community center for the whole family! Highly recommend!
This 6-person cabin was perfect for our twins getaway. We were in nature, close to all of our hiking and it had an awesome game room. Communication from owners/management was prompt and they were quick to answer all questions or address any issues that came up during our stay. Definitely recommend!
We enjoyed our stay at the Stowe Cabin very much. The property is absolutely adorable and just as described. The property is quiet and peaceful. Stacey was great to work with. We would definitely consider going back.
Our stay at the Stowe cabin was wonderful. Our kids absolutely loved the game room and hot tub. It was very spacious and clean. We grilled on the deck several nights which was super convenient. Beautiful scenery! We would definitely come again.
The property was immediately welcoming, clean, and very well maintained. It had everything we needed and many thoughtful touches to make our stay feel comfortable and special. The beds were comfortable and the deck was wonderful for meals and playing card games. The host was gracious and communication was great. Unique hiking trails were a relatively short drive and outstanding!
We had such a wonderful stay! Stowe was very quaint and comfortable for our family of four, with charm and attention to detail throughout. It felt perfectly secluded, like we were truly away from it all, which made it so relaxing and peaceful. The game room was also a huge highlight for the whole family. The host, Stacey, was fantastic - very responsive, proactive, and accommodating. We would absolutely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a cozy, private getaway.

The perfect cabin weekend
The best cabin we’ve ever stayed in hands down. Everything is thoughtfully and beautifully put together for your stay with plenty of games and things to do. We only wish we would have booked a longer stay!
Our stay at Stowe was amazing! The cabin is exactly as described. Everything we needed for our stay was available! The kitchen was fully stocked for cooking in and enjoying time with family! We also enjoyed our time in the Community Room! Will definitely visit again in the future!
We had a lovely stay here and would highly recommend. The cabin was so cozy and clean; and the beds were very comfortable. The playground and community room were a bonus! The host was great at communicating as well!
Stowe was the perfect place for a weekend trip with our adult children and our dogs. Peaceful with great views, and close to hiking trails. We will definitely be back!
It was extremely clean, seemed almost brand new. Kitchen stocked with everything, even bottled water. Dog and baby friendly; equipped with all the baby essentials and even a goodie bag for a dog if you brought one. The community game room was awesome and they had a little playground right outside of the doors. Would highly recommend Notestone Reserve Rentals

Awesome to hear everything was great! We hope you’ll be back!
This property is stunning! It was like a luxury hotel stay. The owners thought of every little detail needed. It is secluded - we loved sitting in the hot tub that was covered because we had both rain and snow. The games in the basement were fun! We loved that the property had lit signs to note which cabin you are staying in. The house was cozy and beds were very comfortable. We will come again and recommend to everyone looking for a weekend get away!

Great Family Getaway
We booked this for our young family for a midweek getaway. It was perfect for what we needed. Clean, comfortable and great location. The game room was great for the kids and the fire pit was amazing for s’mores in the evening. We will definitely be back.
If you look at this place for a trip don’t hesitate to book it! It is beautiful and location is amazing. The Host was in contact in a very timely manor for everything. We had a snow storm when we got there and we were the only booking at the whole site for the weekend. The property manager/maintenance man went above and beyond to accommodate us with snow removal! BOOK it! You won’t regret it. We will be back
The Stowe cabin was awesome. Everything was very clean and well maintained. My kids loved the hot tub, and the arcade games. We went to the common game room several nights to play before kid's bed time. I loved the attention to detail and anticipation of guests needs, even for our dog. Overall a lovely stay, we hope to be back!

About the host
Hosted by Stacey
Hi, I'm Stacey — one of the founders of Notestone Reserve, and the person who's been hands-on in shaping every space on the property.
Restoration is something I think about a lot. The idea that something with potential can become something worth keeping — that broken pieces, arranged with care, can turn into something magnificent. Stained glass works that way. So does Notestone.
This property started as a vision and a lot of hard work. What it is now — ten units across 14 acres in the heart of Hocking Hills, each one named for a writer who paid attention to the world around them — is the result of believing that where you rest matters.
Every detail reflects what I personally look for when I travel: comfort without pretense, nature without roughing it. The bedding, the hot tubs, the fire pits, the game room — which sounds shared until you realize that most nights it belongs entirely to your group anyway. The kind of place where your own story gets written.
I'm proud of what we've built. And I'd love to have you here.
Welcome to Notestone Reserve.
What makes this property unique
Stowe is an original log cabin — white-painted exposed logs, a wraparound deck with string lights, and an electric fireplace that makes the main floor feel like exactly where you should be. Two king bedrooms, a lower level queen, a full kitchen, covered hot tub, and a fire pit. The kind of cabin that earns the word.
As a Notestone Reserve guest you'll also have access to our shared community game room — pool table, basketball arcade, classic arcade machines, and a big-screen TV lounge. Most nights it's all yours.
Notestone Reserve sits in Laurelville, right in the heart of Hocking Hills. The waterfalls, caves, and trails that make this region worth the drive are all nearby — and after a day out there, a wraparound deck and a fire pit feel exactly right.
