We stayed at a VRBO casita on Isla Bastimientos in Bocas del Toro, and it was one of those places that instantly makes you feel at home. The owners, Jeremy and Tessa, were incredibly welcoming and thoughtful! You can tell they’ve poured their hearts into this place. The casita sits on 100 acres of farmland that they’ve been building from the ground up, and it’s really special to experience something so intentionally created and cared for.One of the highlights was Tessa’s home-cooked meals (optional, since the casita does have a full kitchenette). She offers three meals a day, and every single one was delicious, often made with ingredients pulled straight from their garden or farm. It truly felt like farm-to-table in the most authentic way. You’re completely immersed in the jungle and wildlife, waking up to the sounds of nature, while still enjoying the comfort of great amenities.Location-wise, it’s the perfect balance of remote and accessible. Red Frog Beach is just a quick 5-minute boat ride away, making beach days easy, and definitely don’t skip a trip to Zapatillos - absolutely worth it and a highlight of our time in Bocas. If you’re looking for a peaceful, authentic, and memorable stay that connects you to nature and amazing hosts, this place is truly something special.
