Enjoy breathtaking views of the Choctawhatchee Bay in this tastefully decorated three-bedroom, two-bathroom unit on the highest floor of the Destin West Beach and Bay Resort.

Destin West Heron 602 is a bayside unit offering peaceful, beautiful views off the private balcony. The master bedroom has a king-size bed, television, and a private master bath with a Jacuzzi tub, glass-enclosed, walk-in shower, double vanity, and large walk-in closet. The two guest rooms each include their own entertainment centers and personal storage. The family room features a queen sleeper sofa and a large entertainment center. There is a fully furnished kitchen with an in-unit washer and dryer. This unit is tiled throughout with carpet in the bedrooms.

Free WiFi internet is provided.

Rating Details: The property manager was more than helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was somewhat dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We have been coming to Destin West for 15 years. We love the location and access to the bay and beach. Property is aging and could use some updates. No body keeping kids out of hot tubs. Weeds around lazy river need attention. Our condo need some updates to furniture, patio set chairs were worn and living room rug looked nasty. Everything just needs freshened up to get back to great.

Reviewer Comments: Our rental was great - we had a hot water issue on Thanksgiving- I texted the number, got an immediate response, a maintenance man came out and we had hot water again within the hour. AMAZING SERVICE! Great views, great amenities, comfy condo - the lazy river alone is worth staying here! (it was a bit too cold out for us, but kids LOVED it). Within walking distance to several restaurants, the aquarium (also AMAZING-check out the Penguin Experience). That walkway sky bridge for the win!! We will return!

The location is on the beautiful and quiet side of the building, and you can't hear anything from the outside when the sliding doors are closed. The beds were comfortable and the air conditioning worked well everywhere except the master bedroom, which can get a bit toasty if you sleep in past sunrise. The condo was clean and the kitchen well stocked with the basic utensils. I have already rented this same unti again.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: H602 was the perfect condo! The bay view peaceful and beautiful. Stayed with family - plenty of space and clean! We cooked there all weekend and it had everything we needed for pots and pans. Plenty of dishes, bath towels and washcloths. Recommend to bring items on guide - paper towels, toilet paper, dish soap, trash bags, coffee filters, coffee, and bring kitchen towels & fan for porch.Location is great! From the pedestrian bridge, we walked to beach, then to Boardwalk and Gulfarium. Beach area with chairs and umbrella is beautiful on Gulf of America side. We even walked to Wild Willy’s adventure zone during our stay. Lazy river was amazing. I highly recommend this condo!

The place is a lot of fun. The ammenities are excelent. To have the pools and the beach to chose from is a real bonus. There are plenty of bars resurants and shops all walkable by the street or beach. The negatives are the outdated furiniture and Cleanliness. I know its a beach place but the table outside where we spent most of our time had 6 broken chairs and a paint job that is pealing and chipping all over. There are also what appear to be blood or dog poop stains on all the carpets and curtains. Bring an air mattress if you need the couches for sleeping. The amount of untensils and kitchen appliances are great. Some places people leave spices and salt and pepper things like that. Do not expect that. They clean out everything.

When we arrived at our condo in H-602, the floors were not swept or mopped. My sister ended up finding a kids sippy cup underneath the loveseat that look like what appeared to be molded milk. I immediately threw it away. The door handle on the outside of the sliding glass door was hanging on by one screw, I did let them know immediately and the hostess said they were sending a maintenance guy out to fix it and they did. Outside on the condo porch, there was a wad up here in big Hair balls in popsicle sticks outside of the condo on the floor, which was absolutely disgusting. I literally have pictures of all of this in our master bedroom. Someone that had previously stayed before us left two hairbrushes, some eye patches,sunglasses, and some makeup wipes that I immediately let the hostess know that they just left it all over the counter and didn’t bother to clean it. The host us asked us to return the items, which I did to the front desk. I didn’t even have to do that, but I did as a good Samaritan and then was told that we couldn’t even receive a cleaning fee refund. However, they just said I hope you enjoyed your stay totally disregarded what I had asked them, which was to refund a cleaning fee that’s it. It was extremely rude and my family was there and I was embarrassed about the mess. The floors were so nasty and sticky that all of us had to wear shoes throughout the condo. I usually don’t complain. But it was nasty. But we did try to make the best of it.
