About Owner/Property Manager
My wife Anne and I have lived in Grand Isle, Vermont for Twenty one years. Now we are raising our three year old son MAX here. Anne takes the ferry to work across the lake in Plattsburgh, NY. When I am not looking after MAX, I work as a Cabinet Maker out of our home here in Grand Isle. We both love to sail and spend a lot of our free time racing sailboats.
Owner/Property Manager purchased this Cottage in 2009
Why Owner/Property Manager chose Grand Isle
We found this property seven years ago. it is just down the street from where we first lived in Grand Isle. We had been looking for a property to invest in for years. when this one became available we jumped on it. We are so glad we did. It is a special place and I hope you will enjoy it.
What makes this Cottage unique
There are a few things that makes our cottage so wonderful. First, It sits only 30 feet from the lake so you feel like you are right there. There is a screened in porch where you can spend long evenings drinking wine and talking about your day or relaxing with a book. One of my favorite things to do is to sit on the lawn in an Adirondack Chair on a nice summer afternoon and watch the sailboats go by. The cottage is a quiet place. It sits 300 feet from a road that is not busy in the first place. If you want to venture out for the day or evening there are great choices. First, there are some great restaurants locally. Burlington is only 30 minutes away and if you have never been to Burlington you need to go. Burlington is a wonderful small city with fantastic restaurants, shops, music, and more. Montreal is a 90 minute drive north. just don't forget your passport. Grand Isle is a wonderful place to bike, paddle, fish, swim, or just hang out and relax with your favorite drink. I hope you come and enjoy our cottage.

Easy living right on the water's edge
We spent a fall weekend at the little cabin, and everything about it was relaxing. Steps from the water, you could hear the waves in the house when the door from the screen porch was open. The house is small and not at all fancy, but it was clean and had everything we needed, including some toys for our grandchild and a wonderful hammock by the edge of the lawn overlooking the lake! Dave was easy to work with and very accommodating. We look forward to a chance to return.
Peaceful rustic cottage on the lake with beautiful views
My wife and I enjoyed a few days relaxing and enjoying the views and peaceful sounds of the water. The owner was very gracious as it turns out I entered the reservation dates incorrectly and we were only supposed to enjoy a couple days...
We spent a lovely weekend at this cozy lake camp. It had everything we needed, a beautiful view, and was quite private for having such close neighbors.
We loved the location on the lake. It was the feel of the cabin that made us smile and made us think
It was a great experience. We loved the cabin and it's feel. The location gave us access to everything we needed.
Bring on the quiet
off season quiet time with a lovely place to sit at the edge of the lake, which often appeared as a windy ocean! Lovely setting. We did appreciate the porch and the lawn furniture. Nothing fancy about the house, but it was affordable, well-stocked and clean.
Cottage on the Lake with fantastic views of Lake Champlain and Adirondack Mtns
What a great cottage right on Lake Champlain's west shore with outstanding views of the lake and the Adirondack Mountains. Steps down to the small beach, however it's rocky so you will need water shoes or old sneakers to wear.
Property is very nice, with a small yard with trees for shade and a nice hammock. Nice neighbors. We found the location quiet, rarely heard traffic and went for walks on the road with no problems.
This is a cottage / camp and is not a nice year round home on the lake (plenty around here). All the necessities are there - city water, shower, small kitchen appliances - everything worked. Sorry no cable (PBS, CBS and NBC on antenna), wireless internet fast to enough to stream Netflix and youtube (bring a HDMI cable). Bedrooms were small, but functional. If you understand what you are renting there are no disappointments. Nice screen porch faces the lake. Gas fired stove does a nice job heating the cottage.
As noted, the view is spectacular, and worth the stay.
Dave the owner is great to work with.
