About Owner/Property Manager

My wife Anne and I have lived in Grand Isle, Vermont for Twenty one years. Now we are raising our three year old son MAX here. Anne takes the ferry to work across the lake in Plattsburgh, NY. When I am not looking after MAX, I work as a Cabinet Maker out of our home here in Grand Isle. We both love to sail and spend a lot of our free time racing sailboats.

Owner/Property Manager purchased this cottage in 2009

Why Owner/Property Manager chose Grand Isle

We found this property seven years ago. it is just down the street from where we first lived in Grand Isle. We had been looking for a property to invest in for years. when this one became available we jumped on it. We are so glad we did. It is a special place and I hope you will enjoy it.

What makes this cottage unique

There are a few things that makes our cottage so wonderful. First, It sits only 30 feet from the lake so you feel like you are right there. There is a screened in porch where you can spend long evenings drinking wine and talking about your day or relaxing with a book. One of my favorite things to do is to sit on the lawn in an Adirondack Chair on a nice summer afternoon and watch the sailboats go by. The cottage is a quiet place. It sits 300 feet from a road that is not busy in the first place. If you want to venture out for the day or evening there are great choices. First, there are some great restaurants locally. Burlington is only 30 minutes away and if you have never been to Burlington you need to go. Burlington is a wonderful small city with fantastic restaurants, shops, music, and more. Montreal is a 90 minute drive north. just don't forget your passport.

Grand Isle is a wonderful place to bike, paddle, fish, swim, or just hang out and relax with your favorite drink. I hope you come and enjoy our cottage.

Cute little house, wonderful location

  • 4 of 5

We had a very enjoyable week here. As some other reviews said, don't expect a Holiday-Inn type hotel room. What you get is a cute little house, similar to an old lakeside camp from the 1960's. I was prepared for small bedrooms based on other reviews. Even so, the bedrooms were actually smaller than I was expecting! Each about 8x8. We slept in one and used the other for our luggage. The location is great. West-looking view means you are guaranteed at least a few wonderful sunsets. The gentle lapping of waves on the shore is very relaxing. Easy access to route 2, ferry to NY, and other sites of interest. Good grocery store is a 5 minute drive. Two really nice restaurants, Blue Paddle and Shore Acres, are about 10 minutes south or north respectively. Wifi worked well. TV only got 2 or 3 channels, but that was enough to keep up with the news. We met owner Dave briefly one day; he's very nice and easy to work with.

Very nice cottage

  • 4 of 5

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. The cottage is right on Lake Champlain, as advertised, and the screened in porch overlooking the lake was by far the highlight of the property. Overall, the cottage was clean, the kitchen was well-equipped, and the living space was plenty for our family of three. It would probably be a bit cramped for a larger family, though.

The owner's advice regarding places to eat and things to do were spot-on and very helpful.

We would stay here again.

Easy living right on the water's edge

  • 5 of 5

We spent a fall weekend at the little cabin, and everything about it was relaxing. Steps from the water, you could hear the waves in the house when the door from the screen porch was open. The house is small and not at all fancy, but it was clean and had everything we needed, including some toys for our grandchild and a wonderful hammock by the edge of the lawn overlooking the lake! Dave was easy to work with and very accommodating. We look forward to a chance to return.

Peaceful rustic cottage on the lake with beautiful views

  • 5 of 5

My wife and I enjoyed a few days relaxing and enjoying the views and peaceful sounds of the water. The owner was very gracious as it turns out I entered the reservation dates incorrectly and we were only supposed to enjoy a couple days...

Comfortable getaway

  • 5 of 5

We spent a lovely weekend at this cozy lake camp. It had everything we needed, a beautiful view, and was quite private for having such close neighbors.
