Este es el mejor de la costa oeste de Canadá!

Esta casa romántica lo tiene todo. Tan privado, pero cerca de toda la emoción del puerto de Ganges. El famoso Mercado Saltspring Weekend está a 2 minutos a pie. Maravillosas galerías de arte, restaurantes, tiendas, pubs, estudios están a un paseo de su santuario privado en los árboles. Acceso a la playa está directamente en la propiedad.

Hay mucho que hacer aquí para todas las edades. En la propiedad, hay un montón de explorar para hacer, y los 300 metros de playa privada frente a disfrutar.

Una gran variedad de aves y otros animales salvajes hacen de esta casa de 4 acres de propiedad. Ver los cisnes, águilas, colibríes, codornices y otras aves exóticas de la playa y amplia veranda. Mapaches, nutrias, ciervos y otras criaturas son curiosos, seguros y abundantes.

Fuera de la propiedad, senderismo, kayak, vela, golf, restaurantes, comedor informal, patio de beber, natación, compras, buceo, un día en el spa, pesca, yoga, mercados de agricultores, etc ... .

The cabin was lovely and close to Ganges. Good for a couple. Not a big space but did the trick. Access to the beach was wonderful.

We enjoyed our stay here. The cottage was cute, and eveything we needed. Being right in town made it easy to get to all the other parts of the island.

This cottage is truly an amazing place to stay. It's small, but so cute, and the back porch was lovely to sit on at night, surrounded by trees. The fact that you are literally right in the middle of downtown Ganges, and yet still feel tucked away and private is perfect. We would 100% stay here again!

Located very conveniently in Ganges about a block from the market as advertised but the beach access is right next to the busy marina and outfall so not nice for swimming or relaxing at - that was a bit disappointing. Also the cabin was cute in a rustic way but smelled really bad! There was coffee but no breakfast bars and the water had a bit of a swampy taste. The forested back porch was a nice place for morning coffee but could use a couple of comfier chairs. Overall, it was ok but I wouldn’t book here again.

Think twice before booking this place! The location was good but even that had it's drawback in that its really close to a busy road and the traffic noise is loud. There is mention of a bad smell in other reviews but I didn’t think it could be that bad since the property is allowed to be listed but was I ever wrong. The sewage smell at this place worsened with every passing day. I was supposed to stay here 6 nights, could only suffer through 4 though and had to book elsewhere for the remaining 2 nights. This experience has by far been my worst with booking a place.Where do I even start, the smell was by far the worst issue and ultimately what made me leave early. Other than that:-the bug situation, there were so many bugs in this place. It was only on my last day that I noticed the gaps on the front door, then I realized how they were getting it.-on the surface it appeared clean but in many nooks and crannies, extremely dirty. Only as time passed being there I noticed more and more. I didn’t spend much time there as I was out and about but when I was there I was incredibly uncomfortable. -the electrical outlets were so worn that when plugging something in, the cord just fell out. Had to rotate charging my devices in the couple that did work. -no windows had screens so wasn't able to have any windows open for fresh air.-the humidy was bad, everything always felt damp.-the couch/sofa bed was extremely uncomfortable.-host unresponsive

Location Centrally located and easy to get to the main strip of Salt Spring Island, we appreciated the location of this VRBO, and would recommend if you are looking for something central, walkable and easy to get too!Overall size of CabinGood size, cozy and enough space for two people to stay comfortably. Cleanliness - Understanding this is a cabin, we had lower expectations of the overall cleanliness of it. However there were certain areas that were not clean whatsoever, we have stayed in properties where there is the plumbing is similar to this one, however the stench of feces was horrible. We had to purchase car air freshners to make the place smell better. The cabin was also very dusty/grimey. The bedsheets did NOT feel clean whatsoever. BedThis was probably the worst bed we have slept on in our lives. We dreaded going to bed daily as the bed was so uncomfortable and caused a lot of back pain - the bed is also NOT fit for 2 people. There was a sofa /futon available however it was no clean and we did not feel comfortable sleeping in it.

We had a great stay while I was working in Ganges for 2 months. The central location was very handy for us. Very responsive and helpful host. Will stay again if I'm in town for work again :)

Perfect cozy location

This cabin was comfortable and cozy, and accurately represented by the host and by previous reviewers. It is on a busy street, but even with road construction, it felt secluded in the trees. The back patio is perfect for hanging out on during peaceful mornings, with lovely views of the tree’s property and creek. It was a perfect home base for our week holiday on Saltspring.

Rustic charm; excellent location!

Great location for walking in Ganges. Numerous updates in the cabin. Walk on waterfront access. Good internet with a great tv. Plenty of hot water with basic kitchen equipment. No dishwasher. Washer and drying outside under a lean to.

Fun 4 days away from home

The place is fine for a few days holiday. Just on the edge of Ganges so easy to walk everywhere. Lovely weather so we were out most of the day. The place had everything you'd need but i would not want to have to stay inside all day. People say it’s noisy because of the road but it is set well back so is fine. The bed was very comfy though a little small if your husband is 6’3! The couch was very uncomfortable. The heating was good. Overall it was nice, particularly the area…..

Great spot

Great little rental. Location was perfect, walkable to everything in Ganges. Very clean. Right by the main road but we didn’t hear any road noise.

Know what you are renting

This property is not at all secluded as the ad suggests. Is it in the trees? Yes. And also RIGHT beside a main road. If you want secluded I suggest you keep looking, if you want central then this might work. Additionally, this property is very old and has that musty smell that old houses do, no fan in the bathroom and lots of cobwebs. The washer and dryer were outside in a spider filled area. There is absolutely no private beach, there’s a grassy area and beach shared with the other families staying in one of the other houses on the property. Also - no continental breakfast. We found the previous guests cell phone and the cleaner told us she just did “a quick clean” before us

Little cabin in the woods

A very comfortable and cute cabin in a perfect location. Great walking access to everything, nice patch of grass for the dogs to play in every day and because it’s in the trees it stayed relatively cool during some very hot days….although I would suggest bringing or buying a fan to use while there. The bed was comfy and it was very clean. Super quiet even though it’s close to town. Highly recommended for a couple, small family with or without pets. Our dogs loved it.

Amazing location and a cute and quaint cottage

I came here for a girls weekend and the cottage had nearly everything we needed. The location couldn't have been more ideal and you're right by the action. We had an issue with the shower and the property manager replied back promptly. It would have been nice to have more essentials in the kitchen like sugar for tea, etc. But overall it was a wonderful rental.

Cozy Cottage

From the charming village, great eateries, wonderful hiking vistas, and glorious sunsets, Saltspring island is a lovely spot for a little getaway. This cottage provided a central location to launch the day exploring. A well outfitted kitchen with all the amenities you need to start the day off, including a bakery across the street, and groceries nearby. For those of us GF DF, no worries. You can easily enjoy a meal in or out, as the island is very friendly to those with dietary needs. We truly enjoyed our stay in the cozy cottage.

Great location - so central yet off the main road and right by the harbour sea. Yard makes it feel like you’re right in the forest. Affordable and easy check-in / out process. Things we would recommend to owner: 1 extra bath towel per person, clean all kitchenware after guest use as we found old coffee in the French press, wash and shake out blankets in cupboard as we found what looked like a nest in the making and then were afraid to see a mouse, dust for cobwebs and spiders as there were multiple daddy long longs in the bathroom. Otherwise, everything we needed and definitely no deal breakers for the price and location. Had a great time!

Decent location but…

There are both pros and cons to this property. The pros-Having caught an early ferry, I arrived earlier than expected. Tara, the property manager, was kind enough to let me in a few hours before 4:00 which was nice. It is a good location for walking to the market, shops, restaurants, etc. And yes, it is in a mostly forest type environment. What they ad doesn’t say is that the cabin is also about 100 feet from the main, very busy and noisy, road in to Ganges. It does not mention that there is a family of otters living under the house. Now, depending on your opinion of otters, this could be both a pro and a con. If you are travelling with small children or, as I was, with a dog, it would have been useful information to know. If you Google it, you will see that sea otters are quite capable of injuring or killing a pet. And the fact that they fought every night while under the house made sleeping difficult. Hands-down the worst con about this property is the horrific smell in the bathroom. I do not know how what appears to be a completely normal bathroom can smell so strongly and disgustingly like an old outhouse that has not been cleaned in a very long time. There are some serious septic issues. The rest of the cabin was fine. The bed was very comfortable and the kitchen was sufficient. There is no coffee machine. There are two coffee presses, neither one of which work properly. All things considered I would not stay here again. Too bad, it could be such a gem!!

I'm a city boy from Vancouver, who has always dreamed of enjoying and maintaining an island heritage property (You don't so much 'own' such a property as take your turn looking after it)

Traveling is in my blood, but I love the natural wonders and serenity of the Gulf Islands of British Columbia more than anywhere else I have been privileged enough to visit.

An environmentalist at heart, I am sensitive to keeping this property chemical free and the house as healthy a living space as possible.

We fell in love with this late 19th century estate when a friend bought it many years ago. Every opportunity to visit that came up, we made it a priority to get there. When it came on the market, I just had to try for it.

This is one of those properties that changes your life in so many ways, and all of them for the better.

Once you arrive at this property, you no longer need your car. Everything you need is within close walking distance. But when you enter and close the gate behind you, you are in a private world all your own and the outside world ceases to exist. It is the very best of all worlds!
