Discover the beauty of Lake Champlain from this 3-bedroom, cliffside, lake house. Custom designed by the architect owner, this home pleases both the eye and the soul. Quiet solitude is achieved at the end of a private drive with stair access to a tranquil stone beach. With 3 queen beds and 2 bathrooms with showers, this property offers a cozy living room with an additional futon for extra guests. Convenience is achieved with a washer/dryer in the home as well as an entertaining kitchen, wine fridge and WIFI. A personal dock allows for boat access during the summer months. Enjoy the sun rise with a cup of coffee, on the expansive deck overlooking the lake or a quiet dinner by the stone fireplace in the evening. Minutes from golf courses, breweries and local attractions as well as close proximity to Plattsburgh International Airport, the Montreal border and Ferry to Vermont, make this a prime location for your next getaway. Our family of 4, 2 50-somethings and 2 20-somethings, really enjoyed our stay. The house is lovely, with a beautiful, multi-level common area and a long view over the water. The bedrooms are nicely separated for a sense of personal space, the kitchen is very functional, the deck serene, and the pebbly beach and dock below great as well. The house was impeccably clean.The host was very responsive and helpful.There were trains, as some reviewers have noted, and they are very close to the house. None of them came too late in the day but there were typically 2-3 per day and the first one was sometime between 6:30 and 8:00 AM. It wasnt too disruptive for my family but we are a mix of early risers and people who have no trouble getting back to sleep.Unfortunately the hot tub wasnt working during our stay, because I think it would have been great on a cool night. There is tons of boating, kayaking and hiking in the area but limited groceries within 30 min and not much in the way of a poking around town unless you go all the way to Lake Placid or Burlington.All-in-all, a great stay and we really enjoyed the house.Its a great

In addition to having a great view of the lake, this property was the last house on a private road making it an extra peaceful location.

The property, and our stay in it, was perfect. It is beautiful, comfortable and even the knives were sharp! (I cook, even on vacation) the deck, the lake, the views...perfect! Casey was A Wonderful Hostess!

Not quiet at all. Host neglects to mention the property abuts active train tracks no more than 50 feet from the house, and the loud freight and Amtrak trains that go through at all hours (after midnight and before 5 am). Place has no a/c and not enough fans for the space. place was musty and full of carpenter ants. And since the windows needed to be open, all flying insects made their way through the screens. The views are great. But no usable outside space. Treacherous walk down slippery and unkept wooden stairs to a landing full of leaves, debris, and spiders. There is a lot of waterfront to the property, but not really usable - large, loose rocks line the waterfront. Kayaks and paddle boards available, but not really usable, considering how dirty they were; chairs full of gunk and insects/nests, with no way to clean. Beds are amazingly flimsy - mattresses not comfortable at all. No soap, well, they leave (6) "bars" which are about 1.5"x1/4", yes, 1/4 - single use only. The upstairs "shower" was more like a fine mist that didn't rinse anything. Water was obscenely and dangerously hot. They have a great grill. But absolutely no porch seating. We were very disappointed in this property and it was not worth the premium price we paid.

The house was clean and organized, well equipped. Excellent view of the lake. The deck could have been swept. It was full of acorns. I almost fell. It looked like it has not been swept for weeks. During our entire stay, we swept it when we got there and before we left. The train passing by the back of the house was adorable the first night but it disturbed our sleep the next nights. The train was very loud late in the night and very early in the morning. This should be mentioned beforehand.Will definitely come back in the future.
