1 Bedroom, 2 Bath Cottage With Waterviews (Sleeps 2)
The cottage is in a very quiet setting; you can hear the sound of the humming birds as well as the whales, and walk to the edge of the pasture from the cottage to see the Orcas as they pass by. The nights are very dark and quiet as well. Set in a pastoral setting on a six-acre horse ranch, there is a lovely perennial garden outside your door with a pick your own vegetable garden (in season).
We are walking distance to secluded Eagle Cove with a sandy beach great for sunbathing & wading. Walk to American Camp National Park for hiking opportunities and island history information. We are just a 12 minute drive to Friday Harbor.
The interior design is a mix of world motifs acquired during our travels featuring oriental rugs, and European accessories and has a French Provence influence. There is also a lovely gas fireplace for romantic evenings.
Wake up to a view of a nature garden from your bedroom with a comfortable queen size bed. The elegant deluxe bathroom has a claw foot tub and toilet and vanity, Italian tiles and marble, heated floors and heated towel rack. The second bathroom has a lovely tiled shower with heated floors. Outside there is access to a picnic table and chairs.

Why Mary Gey-McCulloch chose Friday Harbor
This property is a sunny location facing south east, south and west and is warmer and sunnier than other parts of the island, and mainly free of mosquitoes. There is a lovely 3 mile walk nearby with water and pastoral views and an easy walk to American Camp.

Amazingly beautiful and special place
Thanks to Mary and Fred for a lovely vacation at their cottage. This is a gorgeous property, with wonderful water views looking southwest. The cottage was more than we could ask for with very high end finishes and furnishings. Mary's artistry is evident as is the many items from their world travels. The bed was very comfy, the baths luxurious and there wasn't anything we needed. We used the Weber to grill most nights, loved getting fresh fish and vegetables at the Kings Market in Friday Harbor. We bought huge oysters one day, a dozen for $7.99! As animal lovers, we played ball with Sidney, the Labradoodle, and watched Mary's two horses grazing in the pasture. One evening a fox came by very close to the cottage. Spectacular vacation cottage....we hope to come back!
Wonderful cottage by the shore
Staying here was a great pleasure! The cottage was extremely clean and well kept. It had everything you'd want and more including a hot tub which was divine. I would definitely stay again. Thank you!
Lovely secluded cabin
Everything about the guest house, from the comfy bed to the heated floors was amazing! Would highly recommend for a weekend getaway.
I couldn’t have asked for a nicer place to stay
Mary has made a wonderful little cottage with decoration it seem like you’ve taking a little trip to Morocco everything is beautifully and tastefully done the cottage itself has everything you could need. Even the bathroom has Band-Aids in case you get a blister taking some wonderful hikes Around San Juan Island. ‘Mary even suggested that we visit the local gallery which I would not have done otherwise. I was so pleasantly surprised by the beautiful pieces of artwork and the amazing photography of Imogen Cunningham. When we visited last weekend it was very very cold on the island at the cottage, However, it was cozy and warm and the gas stove in the front room was a wonderful addition. Overall, our visit was relaxing and peaceful and we can’t wait to return to the little cottage by the sea.
Absolutely beautiful Cottage!
We chose to stay at the Cottage because the hotels in the area didn't appear to be very good. We are so glad we made that decision. We arrived after dark and were greeted by Mary. Mary showed us how to work everything in this unbelievably beautiful Cottage!
There are two sweet dogs, one sweet cat and two beautiful horses. The grounds are immaculately kept and the flowers............they're all incredible! I love to photograph flowers and sunsets. I was able to fulfill my desire as there wasn't any shortfall of either! There was a beautiful apple tree just outside the kitchen that produces the most delicious apples! We took hundreds of photos of the property and the beautiful sunsets.
This Cottage is located 15-20 minutes from everywhere we wanted to visit! Every place we went was very close and easy to get to. The Harbor was a 10 minute ride thru a country road.
I recommend this cottage to anyone who loves beauty and wishes to have a peaceful visit. There isn't any other place I can think of that I would recommend. Our most sincere thanks to the wonderful hosts, you did a fantastic job of creating the perfect get-away!
Absolutely the perfect getaway on San Juan Island; loved everything!
Mary and Fred were incredibly gracious hosts, very helpful when planning and welcoming. Great location for getting to Friday Harbor, American Camp, English Camp, Roche Harbor, Sculpture Garden, really the whole island.
The guest cottage was private, beautifully decorated by Mary, whose artistic sensibilities were evident throughout. It was perfect for a couple, romantic, cosy, comfortable, with incredible garden and ocean views. It had everything we could possibly want. A wonderful surprise was a binder put together by Mary and Fred suggesting activities, providing directions, recommending places to shop and eat, and generally giving us a lot of information about the island. They even had a condensed copy we were invited to take with us during the day out! Mary sent directions before we left with information about the ferry from Anacortes and really clear directions to the cottage. We arrived late on a Friday in the rain and had no trouble finding it. We already want to go back. :)
Located 12 minutes from Friday Harbor off Cattle Point Road. The address is 589 Old Farm Road which is in a pastoral open grasslands area with adjoining horse farms.
