Cabin was extremely comfortable and clean. We stayed here for 3 nights while exploring East Side of GNP, great location. Randy (Camp Host) was a wonderful resource and provided some ‘less traveled’ hiking trails for us. His tales of Grizzly Bear Management and his two dogs was quite interesting. Wish we could’ve stayed longer....highly recommend!!
Wow! What a great place!
One of the other reviews says that the pictures don't do the cabin justice. And my wife and I agree. The cabin is a fantastic place with lots of really great features, like the wrap-around porch, huge kitchen (that is extremely well equipped). The setting is very peaceful, especially at night.
Randy and Linda were great to work with, we didn't want to stop our conversation with them on our last day but we had to get going.
The only suggestion I'd make to improve the property is to install ceiling fans in the bedrooms. They can get a little stuffy at night in the summer, even though it gets in the 40s/50s at night there.
We will definitely be coming back!
Nice home but no wifi/cell service/landline
The house itself was well appointed, large enough, with nice grounds and maintained. Nice kitchen, deck and living room. If telephone access or internet were not an issue, then the house would be acceptable. Unfortunately I needed to be connected with work and family, so the lack of a landline, cell service or internet was a real problem. I had to drive 30 minutes to West Glacier for communication. Theres WIFI at the community pavilion, but it worked only 2 of 4 times. Could not do WIFI calling either. The 4th bedroom is not a real bedroom, just an area with a bed before the other 2 bedrooms upstairs. Overall its a quiet 3 bedroom house not far from Glacier Park.
Perfect base camp for Galcier!
We had a family of 8 (6 adults and 2 children) staying here as our base camp to explore Glacier National Park. The bedrooms were perfect, everyone had a bed and the showers were very nice. The kitchen appliances are older, but adequate and the cabinets were fully stocked with pots and pans for cooking. The laundry room was able to keep up with 8 people also. The porch was our favorite feature- we spent most nights out there eating dinner. 40 minutes from Two Medicine and 45 minutes from Apgar Visitor center- the location was perfect!
Wonderful Log Cabin Home
We loved our stay at this wonderful log cabin home for 3 nights. It was a great base for exploring the East side of Glacier National Park. The home was much larger than it looked on line, and tucked away into the woods. So much privacy and options for families. We enjoyed using the kitchen and cooking s'mores in the fire pit each evening. Such a great home, thank you for sharing.
After spending your days taking in all the activities Montana's great outdoors have to offer, you can unwind by relaxing on the deck of our log home while taking in the magnificent views of Glacier National Park and its surroundings while hummingbirds hover overhead. Take a stroll through our 58 acre private setting and scope out dozens of different species of wild flowers and take in the fresh scent of the forest. On occasion you will spot elk, deer or a moose peacefully wandering in the meadow (most often in June and early July). Spend time touring Glacier National Park with your own vehicle or take the historical Red Bus guided tour over the Going To The Sun Highway. We are one of two stops on the south side of the park. The famous goat lick, stair step falls and the Middle Fork of the Flathead River are just minutes from our place (perfect for fishing, floating and white water rafting enthusiasts). Be sure to stop at the Isaac Walton Inn, a historic railway depot. Skyland Road, located just 3 miles away, lends way to a scenic 2-3 hour drive deep into the US Forest Service. You can spend your afternoons fishing in one of many local streams, golfing at East Glacier Golf Course or hiking into Glacier Park, with Olie Creek trail head located just across the road from Glacier Meadows! Take an evening walk along Giefer Creek through the Slippery Bill development all the way back to Zip's Cabin. Spend your nights cozied up by the fire and drift off to sleep in the comfort of the rustic log cabin to the sounds of wolves howling in the distance.

Hank Zomer purchased this Cabin in 2004
Why Hank Zomer chose Essex
The Zomer family has alway enjoyed the Glacier Park area as a retreat from their busy family routine throughout the years. They have spent their annual summer vacations doing water sports on the area lakes and touring Glacier National Park with their Harley Davidson. In winter months, the Zomer family loves to snow ski and snowmobile in the local area. In 2004 the Zomers had the unique opportunity to purchase this prime piece of real estate consisting of 58 acres of private land nestled between Glacier National park and the US Forest Service. Also included on our property is Glacier Meadow RV Park. The RV park is located down in the meadow closer to the highway. The RV park consists of 45 RV and tent sites along with a shower house, laundry, basketball court, shuffleboard, playground and large pavilion with fireplace. The log home is located on the highest point of our property 1000 feet away from the rv park in a private and secluded area overlooking the meadow. You are sure to find privacy, peace and quiet here to enjoy the scenic views that dominate our property. Since we personally use our place more often in the winter months to partake in snow sports, we have decided to share our wonderful setting with summer guests in the years ahead. We know you will enjoy it as much as we have.
What makes this Cabin unique
