It was a delight to host Tina and her family at Toddy Haven. They were communicative and considerate and left the cottage in spotless condition. We would count it a privilege to host them again.

It was a pleasure to host Scott and family once again. They are great guests who went the second mile in taking care of our home like it was their very own. Though all of our rentals are new here since their last visit in 2019, we still have one of the best places on the lake to enjoy swimming and boating, while being just under a mile from Acadia Highway that takes people to the many beautiful coastal towns and places along the coast; especially those found at Acadia National Park.

It was a pleasure to host Dan and his wife at our cottage. They were excellent guests. The drive way is steep and an all wheel vehicle is preferable. However, my wife and I own a front wheel drive Hyundai Elantra and as long as you start at the flat spot just in front of the cottage there is little issue getting up the drive with that vehicle. Just a lesson learned with experience. We would love to have them again and recommend them to future hosts.

Mike and crew were great guests. They communicated well, followed the house rules and left the cottage in beautiful shape. We would love to have them back anytime.

It was very nice hosting you. The roads leading to most lakes in Maine are charming single wide private roads. Our dead-end 15 mph private road is well kept with very little traffic, as noted, and plenty of places to pull off to let others go by. Our property has more space between the neighboring lots than most. Our three cottages are secluded on 1.5 acres and have plenty of private space between them, which includes their own private fire pit areas along the lake front and privacy curtains on the decks as well. Most of our guests spend the majority of their time exploring Acadia National Park and the coastal area, so few guests spend all their days on the lake. This enhances our guest’s experience while here. Our cottages are less than 5 years old, well stocked and well located with easy access to route 1 and the surrounding sites. I believe this is why we maintain a 5 star rating.

Salvatore, It was a pleasure hosting you and your wife. I’m so glad you enjoyed your time with us. Would love to have you back anytime. It took you an hour to get to Acadia? Wow. There must have been a lot of traffic. It usually takes us just over 30 minutes. I have heard that is has been extremely busy there. Safe travels!

Mike and Kathy were just perfect guests! They kept in good contact with us and we’re just all-around lovely people. They left the cabin and spotless condition and we would count to privilege to have them back for a visit anytime. So thankful they chose Toddy Haven for some rest and relaxation.

Toddy Haven is a Maine lakeside cottage that was originally built in the 1930’s. It’s first renovation was in the 1950s. When we took over the property in 2016, we totally renovated the property adding a well to replace lake water (including a pure water filter for awesome drinking water), a new septic system to replace a holding tank, all new interior with new fixtures and furniture throughout. A lot has been done to bring the 30s into the new millennium. The bathroom off the porch is the last of the features to be tackled. Next year there will be a brand new replacement for the dear old quintessential Maine lakeside cottage. We know you have enjoyed it but next year we promise you that it will be even better.

Thank you Bethany glad you enjoyed your stay. Though most cottages have stamp sized lots we have the biggest one on this side of the lake; nearly 1.5 acres. Also, many of the lots on lakes are on Rocky hillsides so guests usually park on roadsides or driveways just off the roads but have a hike to the cottage. Though it is a bit steep coming down it is a circle drive that makes it easy to just park near the cottage and drive straight out with little to no incline. It becomes tight when people exceed the parking spots available. From what nearly everyone we host says, the pictures we have don’t do justice to what we offer. Each cottage (three units) are all separate and self contained with their own fire pit areas and canoe and kayaks. The units are pretty new, all under 5 years old. Also, there is a new window unit air conditioner available now for down stairs, on the rare occasion it might be needed here in Maine. Thanks again!
