We had a great experience here. I grew up on this lake and was looking for a rental nearby to show my son and nieces. This cabin was clean and had everything you needed. The owner was very kind and always available for help.
Adorable cabin with a central location to see everything in the Pioneer Valley/ Berkshires/Greater Springfield areas. The cabin is perfect for playing games, fishing, exploring the nearby lake and state parks or just plain relaxing! Be sure to bring marshmallows for toasting in the fire pit. Enjoy!
This is a rustic, perfectly well outfitted cabin. Had everything that we needed in the kitchen. The beds and the couches were very comfortable. Bonus points for the well water being really soft and tasting good. It’s a sweet little spot. So grateful it is pet friendly!
Charming decor and solid furniture. Lovely screened porch and deck. Micro kitchen—smaller that we expected but we’ll-equipped. Bedrooms also smaller than expected. Beds were good.

Pretty good deal near nice New England pond
Our goal was a dog-friendly place in New England that was less than a 3-hr drive from RI, was on or very close to water, and provided some type of boat(s). Given that we were booking very close to our vacation date, this checked off our requirements and ended up being fine. The cabin is a bit funky and is a bit of an exercise in "making do" but it worked out. The owners are very responsive and provided us with the missing bedding and more tp quickly. Unfortunately, the deck furniture was all pretty dirty and the grill never got above 300 degrees so we had to use the tiny apartment-sized stove/oven for all the cooking. The main living area basically has just a few very small, upper windows so it is fairly dark, but there are dozens of lamps! If you are looking for something updated and sparkling clean with an easy working kitchen, this may not be for you. If you are open to funky and cute, with a nice pond and the use of a row boat and paddleboat, and dog-friendly, this will do just fine!

SOOO DISAPPOINTED
Location was not quite as remote as we hoped and the pictures are deceiving.
For the money, it was not what we expected.
Main problem was after arrival it was difficult to reach host with any questions. Repeated texts and phone calls and he finally responded. He was very nice but just not available.
We had no satellite signal for TV. So there was no way to watch movies or TV.
Cleanliness was mediocre at best & certainly not worth the cleaning fee. Many lightbulbs in lamps did not work and batteries were dead in remote. Outside chairs and tables were filthy.
No wood for firepit.
We left after 3 nights and we had booked for a week.

Hi Anne, We were sorry to hear that you were disappointed with your stay. After going over your feedback, the homeowner wanted to follow up on the items that you mention:
- Travelers can see the property location on the listing map before they book
- There are only neighbors to one side of the cabin. The owners don't spend much time there, and they weren't present during your stay
- The owner did respond to your questions about the TV via text/phone in a timely manner
- The satellite was out due to the poor weather, which is of course outside the control of the owner
- The cabin is thoroughly cleaned & sanitized for each new guest
- They also check the lights, remotes, DVDs, etc
It is not advertised that the owner provides firewood, but they do supply durologs for the inside fireplace and starter sticks
You told the owner that you were leaving early due to a change in plans, and they wish that you had let them know about your concerns instead! They'd have been happy to help however possible so that you could have a great stay at the cabin.

Liked: Cleanliness, check-in, location
Cute but odd.
This Pet-Friendly Cabin was very cozy. It is in a woodland neighbor of cabins, but it feels very secluded. Nobody was at the one cabin that we could see. The weather was cool while we were there, so we enjoyed a campfire outside and one in the indoor fireplace. The cabin was decorated by someone like my grandma who was obsessed with bears and apples. The cabin is a short stroll from a lake with a beach. Although our overall experience was good, there are few negatives. First, there are no doors on the bedrooms! Why would you rent a place without doors! Second, the furnace is in one of the bedrooms! It's not in a closet or whatever; it's actually in the bedroom. For many visitors that might not be an issue because they visit in warm weather. When we were there, there were frosty nights and the furnace kicked on every few minutes. Lastly, there was NO information--I mean not one word--about the neighborhood. The cabin is in a private neighborhood but they don't tell you what the neighborhood rules are. They don't let you know whether guests are allowed to use the beach and other amenities, and if you can, what the rules are! I could have attempted to contact the host, but that is an inconvenience for answers to such obvious questions.
I really wanted to like this place since it is such a wonderful location. Unfortunately, it has a property management system that never responds among other problems. I arrived in the rain and the key code was wrong--after being on hold for 30 minutes the owner's son happened to drive by and let me in. There was no heat in the house so he left a space heater and some firewood but it turned out the furnace was broken and the temps were in the 40s. The kitchen sink was stopped up and so the next day the owner finally arrived to fix the sink and furnace. He couldn't get the furnace to work so left a second space heater that blew all the circuit breakers so the next day he came back again to fix the lights and the shower light was never restored. Showers in the cold and dark are not fun. He begrudgingly gave me an extra night when I pushed for it but then that night the water went out. The whole week was spent getting things fixed and he refused to refund any of my trip. I have always had great experiences but this one was uniquely bad---despite the beautiful woods and stars.
There were a number of issues. This house is falsely advertised, especially for the price. We stayed 30 min. and left. We were extremely disappointed.
-place smelled and was musty. Coach was very wet
-owner asked us to lie to neighbors if asked who we were
-no doors on either of the bedrooms

Hi Dania, the right vacation home is everything, and we're disappointed if this wasn't the one for you. We followed up with the homeowner after reading your feedback, and they wanted to share the following:
- We had thoroughly cleaned the home before your arrival; especially in light of COVID, we do our absolute best to provide a clean and sanitized space for our guests to enjoy
- We wish you would have given us a chance to come to resolve any issues promptly before you left the property; we were happy to come back out immediately and reclean
- Additionally, we would've appreciated some communication from you to us, the owners, or our management team about your dissatisfaction so we could have been in the loop about your experience and next steps
- We advertise this accurately as a cabin in the woods. We're sorry if the property fell short of your expectations, however, we make sure our photos and listing description is accurate so guests know what to expect before booking (including features like the curtains as bedroom doors)
- Lastly, we ask our guests to be considerate of our neighbors, and also we'd like to note that the day you arrived was rainy which made the environment damp
Thanks for letting us know about your stay.
With the ongoing health concerns in regards to Covid, I had been researching an affordable and clean retreat for my family..hubby and I with 3 kids..8, 11, and 12..without having to worry about crowds while enjoying nature.
What a nice surprise! This hidden gem was just what the doctor ordered! Our forest cabin was stocked with anything a family needed...hand sanitizing products/bathroom supplies/kitchen utensils/towels/sheets/BBQ and life vests to go with the pedal boat AND paddle boat to use by the pond that looked like a LAKE! The only shopping we had to do was drive to a Walmart(20 min ride) to stock up on food.. We had WiFi/Board Games/AC/Televisions with DVD's and a fire pit in the back to enjoy while we played fireside games and made smores.
It was a bit of a walk to the pond..but pretty direct. The walk to the boats were alot shorter and a bit confusing to get to at first, but hubby figure it out on a bike ride with our youngest. Great trails to walk and ride your bikes. Pond was clean and pretty quiet of visitors. The owners even had beach chairs so you can bring along and sit on the small stretch of sand at the pond entrance. The cabin was a bit cozy, with a stand in shower indoors as well as outdoors but it was fine for our duration. Cabin was incredibly welcoming with wall furnishings and great furniture including a sleeper sofa and washer/dryer. Owners responded immediately to text messages and extremely accomodating. Could'nt have asked for a better experience!
We rented this cabin while house hunting in the area. It is in a beautiful, quiet, secluded forest setting, just down the road from Hammond Pond, and was just right for our needs. The cabin is comfortably furnished, has both heat and AC, and the owners left us some snacks, coffee, and a bottle of wine, plus the kitchen has all the necessities - coffeemaker, K pod coffee maker, toaster, pots & pans, etc. The owner was easily reachable by text, and responsive to our needs. We would definitely stay here again, or recommend it to friends and family.

Cozy cabin with tons of privacy
The cabin was great! The kitchen is equipped with everything you could need, A/C cools down the cabin in minutes, and the owners even left out treats and wine. Boat access is a 5 minute walk away and the fire pit is a perfect place to relax at night. I tried booking this cabin last year and it was already booked, but it was worth the wait :)

Great vacation spot
We had a great time at this cabin! Reading past reviews I must comment on the fact that the hosts are available at all times if needed. Upon arrival we texted Jim & immediately got directions to where the boats are & the boat launch & beach areas. The lake is BEAUTIFUL & sparkling clean! The cabin itself is super cozy & comfortable & equipped with everything you could possibly want or need. Towels, sheets, & blankets are provided as well as a beach bag & beach chairs which really saves on packing! I grew up around the area & I know most cottages do not have television & wifi never mind AC ..this place has it all! We will definitely be back!

Awesome weekend!
The cabin is located in a quiet but easily accessible area near a lake. We took the boats out and went swimming all day and spent the nights hanging out by the fire pit. One of the best experiences we have ever had. The owners were very helpful, they checked in with me to make sure we made it safely and answered all of my text messages quickly during our stay. My parents have since stayed for a weekend also. I think we will definitely be back around the same time every year from now on!
Everything outlined in the listing was accurate! We brought our Dogs, we had a fire in the fire pit, we BBQ'd and we spent time on the deck!
We thoroughly enjoyed our time at the cabin. :)
This rental had a lot going for it. We loved the screened-in porch and deck. It helped make the place feel more spacious and let in a lot of light. It was great to have access to the boats, and we brought our own inflatable tubes for the swimming beach. The beds in the actual bedrooms were fine, but we had to bring in our own fold-up mattress because the futon on the porch was very uncomfortable. The window AC in the dining room area helped cool down the main living space, but be aware that the bedrooms have fans, not AC. It would have been helpful to have info about the area and a small map, especially letting us know where the boats were kept and other public lake access. We had a hard time finding the hidden path that led down to the water at the boats, so persevere until you find it! The decorations were cute and homey, with lots of Yankee Candles.
This was a great location for our annual college friends weekend. The deck and fire pit were both amazing, and we swam in the lake when it got really hot. Jim was a great host, communicative and helpful.

Spotlessly clean, cozy cabin in the woods!
Cabin was as advertised plus so much more! Owners show attention to detail in every room. We had everything we could want or need. There is a full kitchen with everything u need including a Keurig coffee maker. Sheets, blankets, pillows, towels, & even beach towels provided. When we walked in to the cabin the lights were on, the heat was turned up for us, there was champagne & chocolates left for us, & dog treats for our pup. Such a great stay!!!!

Cute, Remote, cozy Cabin
The cabin was fun and interesting. I stayed there with my two oldest granddaughters while visiting Mt. Holyoke. I think this cabin would be more fun in summer when the days are longer, it was hard to find in the dark and a bit remote for three women, since neighbor house was unoccupied. Nicer in summer to use deck and fire pit and lake and boat. Also furnace in bedroom was a bit noisy at night. Thanks though, it worked for us.

Cozy, clean cabin with tons to do nearby
I had a great stay at this cabin and would definitely come back! Its comfortable and cozy and, most importantly, clean!! It was nice being a short walk from a beach and a boat launch with two boats to use. The owners are nice and friendly and even left goodies for when I got there! I would 100% recommend this place to anyone staying up in the area
