What makes this property unique
This cabin is dedicated to two Amazing Grandparents
My grandparents had me on skis before I could even walk. Some of my best childhood memories are of ski trips with them, carving through the snow, laughing, and sharing hot cocoa after a long day on the slopes. Back then, we would wake up at 5:00 AM just to be the first ones on the mountain by 8:00, and we wouldn’t leave until the lifts stopped running at night.
Learning to ski with them was an adventure in itself. There were no fancy enclosed lifts on the beginner slopes—just an old-school rope tow with a wooden seat, and if you didn’t keep your skis straight, you’d end up on the ground, being dragged up the hill. The chairlifts didn’t have safety bars, and to this day, I have no idea why they let my brother and me ride alone at just five and seven years old. My brother, of course, would bounce the chair all the way up, while I sat there, holding on for dear life.
But skiing wasn’t just about the sport. It was about the time spent together—the early mornings, the shared excitement, and the quiet moments riding up the mountain, just taking it all in. Skiing was a piece of me, something I didn’t fully appreciate until they were gone.
That’s why I wanted their memory to live on in a place that feels like home, a place where adventure and love come together.
Dedicating this cabin, Herman’s Hideaway, to them is my way of keeping their spirit alive—so that every snowfall, every ski run, and every quiet mountain morning carries a piece of their legacy.
