Large 650 sq ft one bedroom apartment on the prettiest tree lined block in hell's kitchen (Midtown West). It's a private apartment, not a shared space. The apartment is beautifully decorated with great mid century pieces and an eclectic collection of art and sculpture. Truly a unique place to stay unlike so many other cookie cutter apartments. Only blocks away from times square and Broadway theaters, and one block away from Restaurant Row. All the trendiest and best restaurants and bars are just a couple minutes walk away. Central Park is a 20 minute walk away, or you can rent a bike as part of the bike share program just a block from the apt. Hudson River Park and the Intrepid are just two blocks away. Many subway lines are available within a few blocks of the apartment: A,C,E (2 blocks), 2,3,&9 (3 blocks), N,Q,R,W,B,D,F,V (3 blocks). The apartment is located in a pre-war circa 1900 NEW YORK CITY Walk-Up Building. There is NO ELEVATOR / NO LIFT! It's on the third floor, so an easy two flights up. There are only four apartments per floor, so it's a nice, intimate building. The apartment faces the rear of the building, overlooking a lovely yard, so it's very quiet, with no street noise. The living room has a comfy sofa, two lounge chairs, a flat screen tv with cable. WIFI is included. The dining area has a table and four chairs. The separate large bedroom has a very comfortable queen size bed, use of half of a closet, and a small dresser inside closet. There is also a hair dryer in closet. The bed will be made with a set of clean cotton sheets. The kitchen is a typical new york style galley kitchen with a full refrigerator, an oven and a microwave, a coffee maker and a toaster. Well stocked with pots, pans, plates, utensils and glassware. The bathroom has a full sized tub/shower and comes stocked with towels, toilet paper, etc. There are air conditioners in each room. Comfortable and convenient

The host made himself available, but we wanted for nothing. the unit was very comfortable and located ideally two blocks from Time square one block from restaurant row and close to Subway hubs.

Prettig maar koud

De woning is prachtig, rustig gelegen, erg ruim en gunstig gelegen vlakbij Time Square en alle theaters. Van alle gemakken voorzien en een waar rustpunt na de drukke dagen. Het was een koude periode toen wij er waren en de verwarming kon dit niet aan. Jammer dat de verhuurder totaal niet reageerde op onze vraag hoe we het warmer konden maken in het appartement. We zagen geen radiatoren, thermostaat of zoiets dergelijks. Na het telefonisch inchecken geen enkel contact meer gehad of gezien met de verhuurder. Bij vertrek de deur maar dichtgetrokken en sleutels op tafel achtergelaten. Wanneer je euro 2100,- aan iemand betaalt zou persoonlijk contact ook wel even leuk zijn.

Beautiful apartment, quiet, great location, but...

This is a lovely apartment in a great location. The great drawback is that, unlike all the other VRBOs we have rented over the years, it is obviously occupied. The closets are filled with clothing, the bathroom with personal items, and the refrigerator with food. In addition, we had quite a dust-up with the owner over a stain on the linens. Overall, not a great experience.

Hi, I think everyone has the right to leave reviews, good and bad, and 've never felt compelled to defend my position against a less than perfect review. But in this case I feel compelled to. I'd like to explain the "dust up over a stain on the linens" that Paula refers to in her review: a day before she checks out, she emails me to say that she had a nosebleed and bled on my duvet and duvet cover. Accidents happen, so I told her to please throw away the duvet and duvet cover and just leave me $100 to partially cover the cost of purchasing new bedding (I only use 100% down duvets). Paula refused to, saying that I can just have the items washed. Unfortunately I can't attach a picture to this review, to show that the blood stain was 24 inches in diameter and soaked through the duvet cover down into the duvet itself. I would never subject guests to sleeping with blood stained bedding, no matter how often they had been washed. I informed Paula that I would try to get financial recompense from VRBO, but unfortunately since I did not have a damage deposit attached to my reservations, there was nothing they could do about it. I have now, because of this unfortunate situation, have had to implement a damage deposit to every reservation. Before the incident with the bedding she had emailed me to say how much she loved my apartment. As for her complaints that the apartment is occupied, yes, it definitely is occupied, I live there part time, and that is made clear in my description. And one last thing, I immediately threw away the bedding she ruined and purchased new bedding. Thank you.

Well decorated older apartment

If you want to feel like a local this is the place to stay. Walking distance to everything you can ask for. Building is an older 3rd floor walk up but owner has decorated well.

Wonderful apartment for our New York trip

This apartment was centrally located to everything we wanted to do. We were able to walk all over Manhattan and use this as our home base. Gabriel was very accommodating to our late night arrival and early morning departure. Everything was clean and ready for us when we arrived. I would definitely stay here again. Thank you Gabriel for accommodating us!

Clean and quiet - Just what we needed

This property is in a great neighborhood close to restaurants, nightlife, and even Times Square. We stayed for a week and it was perfect. When we wanted to get away, it was quiet and relaxing. We met some of the neighbors, nice people! Gabriel aa super-responsive during our stay. I'd stay there again.

Gabriel’s apartment was perfect for what we needed; centrally located just a few blocks from Times Square. It has everything you need and was very comfortable. Unusually for many NYC apartments, it is VERY quiet, no street noise of any kind due it being at the back of a building on a quiet residential street. I would have no hesitation in staying again (if fact I will specifically look for this place if/when I do return).

Great location and large appartment

The location is great, less than 10 minutes from the nearest subway (A-C-E) and a couple more blocks from 1-2-3, and N-Q-R-W. The appartment is quite calm as the living room and bedroom windows open up to the inside of the block and not the street. We do hear the neighbor's dog, music and footsteps late at night and early in the morning though, so don't forget to bring your earplugs. The appartment was clean and convenient. Gabriel was very flexible with regards to our arrival and departure times. We had a good time.

El apartamento es tal y como aparece en la web. Es un apartamento acogedor y silencioso que invita al descanso. Su ubicación es inmejorable si buscas un apartamento cerca de Times Square, ya que se encuentra a 5 minutos andando. Las estaciones de metro para llegar a otras partes de la ciudad se encuentran a 5 min andando. Respecto al propietario, todo fue muy sencillo gracias a Gabriel; tanto el contacto con él, como la entrada en el apartamento.

This apartment is a perfect place to stay in New York, especially if you plan on attending the theater. It is close to everything— Times Square, subways, shopping, etc. It was easy to walk everywhere and Hell’s Kitchen is a great neighborhood for dining out. We just loved the place, look like the pictures, very quiet and safe, everything was working great, small kitchenette that we only used for breakfast but having everything you could need to cook a full meal. And the location just great ten minutes away from theaters, restaurants, No problem to check in the maid Anita was there and Gabriel very easy to be reached . We just had a great time and would definitely stay there again on your next visit to the Big Apple.

My friend and I just finished 5 nights at Gabriel's place and had a really great time. It was Fashion Week and most places were booked so we feel we were very lucky. The location is really EXCELLENT, right off of restaurant row and 2-3 blocks from most shows on Broadway. We could walk to the 4 theatres we went to in 10 minutes or less. We met many people who rented apartments this week and we had by far the best location. Hell's Kitchen is quite trendy these days too. The apartment is large for NYC and is just as it appears in the photos, albeit more lived in. This is definitely someone's personal apartment, and not a corporate rental, which made me feel more secure before and during the time we were there. The bedroom is big enough that one can actually walk around the bed with MUCH room to spare (unlike many NYC rentals). The kitchen is NYC small but had everything we needed. Checking in was easy (his cleaning lady met us with keys) and Gabriel gave us recommendations for restaurants, gym, and Citibike, which we used daily and highly recommend. Gabriel was very easy to contact. The apartment was spacious and quiet. The A/C worked great and water pressure was very good for NYC. We had an excellent time. We would recommend this place and would definitely stay here again!
