Rustic Sawtooth Retreat - just minutes from Grand Marais

Unplug and reconnect with nature at this private, beautiful off-grid retreat just minutes from Grand Marais.
Situated on six acres of stunning woodlands the Rustic Sawtooth Retreat provides two charming cabins, private trails, and a prime location. This elevated camping experience offers seclusion while maintaining convenient access to Grand Marais, the Superior Hiking Trail, and all the attractions of the north shore.

Please note there is no running water or electricity. Outhouse is new.

Two camper cabins, always rented together:

Cabin 1 - Sleeping Cabin (12x12): Includes a double (full) bed, wood-burning stove, and a small sleeping loft. The loft sleeps one adult or two children — bring your own sleeping pads or camping mats, as there is no bed or mattress provided in the loft.

Cabin 2 - Gathering + Cooking Cabin (12x20): Features a full/double futon that converts into a bed, wood-burning stove, dining table, and a kitchenette with a propane stove and basin sink for gray water.

The host requires you complete the following before checking out:
Remove personal items, remove leftover food and drinks, and take out the trash
Lock the doors and return the keys
There will be a brief closing list in the sleeping cabin to complete when you leave including: • Dispose of under-sink greywater in woods • Turn propane off • Pick up pet waste
• Close both inside stove doors. • Extinguish outdoor fire/grill • Shut and lock all windows/doors and return keys • TAKE ALL FOOD and TRASH Thank you for enjoying and respecting our area!
Failure to complete these may result in a negative review from the host.
This is not a child-proof property with hot wood stoves, firepit, and sleeping loft. Pets must be leashed and ALL pet waste must be picked up.
No smoking, parties or events Quiet hours after 10 PM Pack out all trash, food, and personal items Use only natural soaps Keep wood stove doors closed
Fully extinguish outdoor fire with water before leaving or sleeping. Store ALL food securely in coolers to deter vermin. Respect the land. :)

Thai was the perfect get away spot! Close enough to Grand Marais to be accessible but far enough to feel like you are one with up north. It was perfect for myself, my husband, and my mother-in-law to have our space, but still be together. Will definitely be staying again!

The cabins were nice and private. It was clean and the experience was great. They had wood that was easily accessible and plenty of heat sources as well as water they left for us.

If you're looking for a glamping type experience, this is a great place to stay! We found the cabin to be very clean and comfortable. The location is great, it's only a few minutes into Grand Marais, and it's very convenient for the boundary waters. The host is friendly and very helpful. Would highly recommend.

The property was exactly what we wanted. Tucked away, rustic, and quiet. There was cell reception, in case future bookers care about that. The propane stove works great, and the property is really well kept.

Secluded property in close proximity to Grand Marais. Bring head lamps or extra battery powered lights, as there is zero electricity on the property. Great views of the night sky, and beautiful fall colors
