Our shore has a beach area and an area with RIP WRAP- - huge boulders to protect the active lake from taking away the shore. Keep safe and stay off
All furniture must be covered if your dog gets on beds or love seats. Covers provided for this. I will charge $30-$100 for excess hair is found.

Thanks for your review. I appreciate all reviews. If you notice, I do indicate that I do not have tv service. I live on the property and I stream the internet with high speed broadband. This is what I provide to you. Rarely do short terms rentals provide tv service. Most hotels in towns provide tv service as well as internet. In terms of the deck, I alerted you that the large deck directly on the water was being replaced. Safety concerns are important for all. The little deck attached is not even worth mentioning but I do supply two chairs and a table. Water issues- since we have excellent well water certified by the State Health Department, it’s not about the water but the water heater. We flush the water heater regularly and still a few people can smell the hot water. As for being on the water, I’m sorry for your misunderstanding. I do mention that the property sits across the road from The Lake and shore and deck are available to me and my guests. Thank you again for staying with us and I do hope you return. Lynn

Everything was wonderful love the location! Only thing that was a bummer was the deck wasn’t able to be used. Would’ve love to spend time by the lake more. Other than that this is a great choice if you just need a place to lounge between your adventures.

Yes I do agree about the deck. I did not know in advance of the deck replacement. The deck is really great when it’s completed and before construction.

Such an amazing getaway with my husband and our dog for the Fourth of July! I’m silly and thought it was directly on the lake from the pictures (which it is not) just for people looking to hear the waves.

The Studio on Croftville Road was perfect for us. Everything was cozy and comfortable there and Lynn’s really great about responding to your questions right away. I liked the open floor plan and the windows looking over The Lake. The towels were thick and colorful and plenty of them. The skylights are nice, too. Kona loved sitting on the little balcony to watch walkers and dogs go by and she loved playing on the beach and in the water just a stone’s throw from the studio. We found it super convenient; it had everything we needed and was only minutes from Grand Marais.

The Studio was perfect for me, my husband and our dog. It is a nice and quiet place, with a view of the lake from the kitchen table. It is located just off of 61 and had a nice road to walk our dog. It is less than 5 minutes from Grand Marias, so close to restaurants and state parks. Lynn was a great host and communication was awesome. We would stay here again.

The place was lovely but it was a struggle for me as an old person to drag my stuff up the steep stairs. No fault of the owner but due to the forest fires and smoke, could not see the lake very well. A disappointment for all.

My daughters, two cats and I enjoyed our stay! Super close drive to Grand Marais and lovely, quiet road to walk on and see the lake. Place is very comfortable and equipped with everything you need. We enjoyed reading, playing games and actually were phone free for 4 days! Lynn was very responsive and check in/out was seamless. I’d definitely stay there again.

Winter Getaway

My husband & I needed a reprieve, so we went North for some relaxation time with our pups. This location had so much space, was right across from the water, close to town, and best yet, was super dog-friendly! We will definitely be back & I'd recommend this listing to future travelers :)

Relaxing stay

This was a cute open concept space. It was nice to be right across the street from the beach and be able to access a private beach. We really enjoyed our stay. The beds were comfortable including the trundle bed. I enjoyed how accommodating it was to bring a dog.

The Studio is Family-Owned and we enjoy Grand Marais year-round. We have owned our home for 14 years and have converted what was originally an Artist's Studio into a short-term rental space. We love sharing our beautiful place on the North Shore.

Doesn’t get any prettier that Grand Marais. If you’re lucky the aurora is active. However, Grand Marais is one of the few dark spots left in US. The sky at night is amazing. If you are here during a full moon and with our skylights, you’ll think someone left the lights on outside. The lake can be very active and amazing as well. Our local photographers have captured some gorgeous sights.
