Very nice house, had a good stay
The house was very nice and had everything we needed. Very large backyard that the kids played frisbee in. I would stay here again.
We really enjoyed our week here. So much so we were able to extend our stay an extra day. The house is very comfortable and worked great for our family.
Very clean and the owner really tries to make sure you have everything you need in the house to have a great stay.
The only thing that the owner could do is put a welcome book with instructions on the garbage system and checking out procedures.
Looking forward to our family coming back next year.
The house was awesome. Very open and comfortable. Big deck out back and nice size porch out front. Large yards front and back. Plenty of room to stretch out and make for a relaxing weekend. I would absolutely stay there again.
Good time's at fort bragg!!
WE enjoyed our stay It was close to the beach within walking distance , the house was beautiful it fit the people we had with us comfortably and Christopher the owner seemed very nice..we would like to come back again for our next trip!! Thank you.
Bad 1st Experience
I feel like the owner is a very nice gentleman, but very unfamiliar with the vacation home experience and the house was not exactly what I would have liked. It was nothing major, just many little things - watered down hand soap, pots/pans that must be someone's old stuff, no basic kitchen essentials (spices, oil, tin foil, zip locks, baking dishes), weird garbage requirements that are only possible with the outside cans aren't overflowing, the main bathroom shower only worked at 50% capacity (when you pulled the lever to divert water to the shower function, 50% of the water still came out the bath spigot), house sleeps a lot of people but the table only sat 6 so we couldn't eat together, there was a propane BBQ but no propane, the cupboard near the stove was broken and kept falling off every time I opened the oven, TV provided but no cable service, DVD player that didn't work, no radio as an alternative, the water heater is defective and required us to relight pilot twice (NOT SAFE), and the homeowner mentioned that he does come and go frequently at night while guests are present - we highly encouraged him not to do so for his safety, none of our houseguests would have liked that much. This was very rough start to using vacation rentals and I would really encourage the homeowner to make changes because it was pretty pricy for a not-so-pretty experience.
The Fort Bragg Family Vacation House has been reviewed by 18 out of 20 guests. 17 of the 18 reviews averaged 4.9 out of 5 stars possible - this was the only review that was negative.
1) Hand soap was not watered down, probably the replacement hand soap was different from original.
2) Kitchen pots, pans, utensils are from our family.
3) Recycling is the same as everywhere in Mendocino County.
4) Shower spout/diverter replaced, now functions normally.
5) Guests provide the propane for the BBQ if they choose to use it.
6) Cupboard door was repaired.
7) We do not provide cable or dish service.
8) Water heater and all gas appliances have been serviced and function normally.
9) As far as owner coming and going at night - this has never happened. Occasionally we have contacted the guests to obtain their permission to retrieve a stored item from the garage.
Thank you for your attention.
Location: beautiful north coast of California, Pacific Ocean, beaches and cliffs, Redwood Forests, not far from the Anderson Valley wine country.
