After reading the previous review I was a little worried, but decided to give them a shot. The Boxcar Tiny Home was perfect for my needs. I spent the day at a lake and then hiked Bob Bear Trail. I needed a place to crash a few nights, shower, and keep my beer cold. There were some ants inside the house but you could see that the owners were working on trying to get rid of the ant hole outside the front door… plus I don’t mind ants as much as I do some other insects I’ve seen at other houses. :-)

I was very excited to stay here, the concept was very appealing. However, the reality was extremely disappointing. Upon arriving the outdoor space was messy with dirt dust and debris, if we had wanted to use the space it would require some serious cleaning. The indoor space was worse, old smelly stained furniture, dilapidated kitchen cabinets, an oven/range so dirty you would never attempt to cook on it or in it. The refrigerator was in need of a wipe down, utensils that had seen better days in a dirty drawer. The bathroom had no towells to utilize 1 roll of toilet paper on the roll no additional supplies the black plastic shower curtain had holes and scum on it. The bedroom was the final straw for me, I checked the bedding as I always do, when I pulled back the covers there was a bobby pin and hair and the sheets were wrinkled as if someone had just slept in it. I was very upset, I contacted the host immediately. The response, they would check to see if the cleaners had forgotten about the property. The check in time was 4 pm, we are tired, hungry and waiting to see if cleaners had done their job. After a few minutes I called again to explain there was no way we could wait around, it was getting late and we needed to find a clean place to stay, it was after 5pm. I requested a refund which I received but it did not inclued taxes and fees so I am out roughly 70.00 which I am not happy about and have concluded VRBO is not the trusted source I thought it was.

This is a terrible review for us and definitely not warranted. We have heard of guests like this that have a problem with everything requesting an immediate refund and still leave a one star review. We have heard they do this to lower your rating so another similar location has better reviews. I can’t say this is the case but it sure seems like it. I can address all there concerns dusty outside area we have a patio surrounded by 100’ tall pine trees we blow off the patio between every guest but pine needles will always fall. Inside our kitchen cabinets are hickory and were installed last year there is no damage to any of them. The stove upon inspection was clean as was the refrigerator. Bathroom shower curtain is grey so it does show some water spotting but no wholes were found. Fresh roll of tp on the holder with a second in the cabinet. More can always be provided upon request. I inspected the sheets and didn’t find the Bobby pin and the sheets came straight from the dryer. We forgot to lay out the fresh towels for the guest but when they contacted us with their concerns we offered to let them open our locked supply cabinet or have some fresh ones delivered and they wanted nothing to do with it. They left without allowing us to address any of their concerns and requested a full refund. We provided the refund immediately we don’t have any control over vrbo taxes and fees.This was to be our first booking with vrbo after many years on Airbnb what a shame

Great place to come to for a last minute get away! It had everything we needed! There was a herd of Elk and their babies come through the neighborhood! Close to town, hiking and biking trails! Our pups loved it too. We will definitely be back.

A little issue with the check in. I didn’t receive the check in email until after I called and emailed that I was at the VRBO. There was a sewer odor coming from the place. The guest book has multiple entries with the same complaint of sewer odor back 6 months.Some things were missing that were in the description. All the outlet covers were missing and the garage screen has holes all over. Couldn’t open the garage door for fresh air.

Lovely place to stay. Was just what we expected from the photos and description. Loved seeing the elk come right in the yard. Rolling up the garage door and eating on the patio was awesome. Very comfortable bed. Host messaged making sure everything was ok and in order. Appreciated him checking on us. We are already talking about going back to stay again.

The property was very nice and cozy! We enjoyed our stay in Pine a lot and the location was great, an very close to everything. The host was very responsive and helpful. Easy check in & out. There was just some spiders and cob webs around, and the floor was very cold so make sure to bring socks and/or slippers to walk around in. 5 stars would def come back here!
