The neighborhood is surprisingly charming. I used to live not far from Soulard in the early 1980's, and the area has really rebounded since I left (coincidence?). Lots of very welcoming bars, shops, cafes, restaurants, and that's not even counting the Soulard market. We were out and about at all hours on a holiday weekend, and never felt nervous or threatened. Lots of parking. Angela was very easy to communicate with. Can't recommend her enough. My sons and I have stayed in VRBOs from Guatemala to Malta, Slovenia to Ireland, and this was a top-notch experience all around. The house itself is larger than it looks from the outside. We were seven total, and we had enough room that we didn't feel like we were on top of each other. If it hadn't been 97 degrees in the shade, we would have used the courtyard and balcony. l can only imagine what it would be like in, say, October should the Cards sneak into the playoffs.Had we known how well-appointed the kitchen was, we would have planned on cooking in one evening, so fear not on that front.
