Very beautiful condo with some issues

A lovely place with a beautiful view, living room/kitchen very nice, but not very clean, closets full of their belongings, and the owners watch you using the front door camera, which should be listed on their VRBO page but was not when we booked. We mistakenly took an outdoor patio chair to the beach (our bad, we did not realize) and within ten minutes had an email from the owners telling us not to do that. Otherwise a very nice place and it was easy to communicate with the owners.

Not luxurious

The condo was nice, but needed a deep cleaning. The master bath was not as clean as it should have been. The closet in the master bedroom was full of the owners’ clothes. Refrigerator, freezer and cabinets were full of owners’ food. Towels were old and stained and there were better ones in the cabinets. We felt as if we were invading someone’s privacy while we were there.

Beautiful beachfront condo

We had a wonderful stay at the “Penthouse Sweet.” Lori and Dave were very helpful! The condo is beautiful and well stocked. The beds are very comfortable and the linens were great quality. We loved the views from the gorgeous living area. The condo was also very quiet and it’s located just steps off of the beach. The pool was nice and clean too.

Penthouse Sweet was exactly as pictured. The views were amazing, kitchen well stocked, beds very comfortable, quiet and relaxing. The whole family enjoyed the week .

Great Home with Wonderful view

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Penthouse Sweet. The home has been renovated with beautiful touches and attention to detail. The location is great and the view of the ocean is wonderful! The owners were great to work with. Would be a great place to stay for your family.

Beautiful property!

We had a family come in for a celebration and there was plenty of room. Everyone had their own space and bathroom which is a plus with different schedules. The view is gorgeous and the condo had everything one could desire. Thank you for a great stay!

We loved the "Penthouse Sweet".

This luxury condo offered a combination of ease, comfort and luxury. The decor is luxurious yet unpretentious. We enjoyed the art and collections throughout. Everything was easy and comfortable due to the attention to detail from the owners. The beds were comfortable and included nice bed linens. The futon was even made up in advance for our granddaughter and she loved the "fancy" pillows. There were plenty of good quality towels, always a plus compared to the poor quality you get from rental services. The kitchen was well stocked and we enjoyed preparing meals in it. The view is magnificent and we enjoyed the large balcony with ample seating. The location is central to attractions and restaurants. TV's in every room were a plus as well. We highly recommend the Penthouse Sweet for girls getaways, couples or families. If you have young children, we found it helpful to hide some of the jars of shells and breakables until check-out. We will return to the Penthouse Sweet if we plan to be in Pine Knoll Shores again. Thanks Lori and Dave for a great vacation!

Amazingly updated, incredible view

Upon entering the condo, we were stunned with the modern updates and incredible view from the main living space. The thoughtful renovations included updated lighting and a positionable King Serta mattress. My husband and I enjoyed the ocean waves and pool in late September/early October, along with the Harmony TV/music/Bluetooth smart systems through the main room. My mom used the elevator and pool and was able to use the ramp to get to the top of the dunes (however there are stairs go down to the sand/ocean). The view from the balcony along with the snacks and provided paper products made the whole stay so relaxing. This is the place to go if you enjoy the beach, whether or not you go down to it.

Wedding Weekend Success!

We had a great time at Penthouse Sweet! We were in town for my son's wedding and the location was perfect and very convenient to the wedding venue (NC Aquarium) and other local restaurants. Communication with Lori was great and we appreciated her responding so quickly. The place had been recently renovated and there were beautiful touches throughout the home. The views were spectacular and beach access was a breeze. Everything you need and more. Highly recommend ! Wish we could have stayed longer! Thank you so much!

Penthouse Sweet - a great vacation place with a gorgeous ocean front view!

We had a wonderful vacation at Pine Knoll Shores! It was a quiet area with great restaurants and fun family activities, such as the NC Aquarium, just a short drive away. Lori was very accommodating allowing us to even purchase an extra night at the Penthouse Sweet when we didn’t want to end our family vacation. The beach was perfect and the ocean crystal clear! Our vacation included four generations aging from 3 years to 83 years. The condo has a great layout with 4 spacious bedrooms and individual bathrooms with each room. I loved the greatroom, which included a well equipped kitchen, a comfy TV area and a perfect dining area for eating our meals and playing family games all this along with a gorgeous oceanfront view. We all enjoyed the large balcony and view throughout the day. An added bonus was having an elevator which made it much easier for my mother to come and go without having to climb steps. There are only a couple suggestions that would help make this condo a five star rental: updating the master bathroom and improving kitchen sink area. I would definitely recommend the Penthouse Sweet and would love to return some day!

Wonderful place to stay, wonderful hosts

The owners of the property were fantastic. We wanted for nothing. The views were spectacular and the home itself was very well-maintained and just a beautiful place to stay. It was decorated nicely and it made you feel at home and pampered. I would recommend this property highly. Is located near everything and you cannot go wrong with Lori and Dave, They are a dream to work with and will make your vacation special.

Absolutely beautiful with a perfect layout of space and many creature comforts!

We spent the holidays at the Penthouse Sweet and loved every minute. We arrived to find a beautiful home with some extra special touches for the holidays. The lighting fixtures throughout the home, especially the backlighting behind the VERY large TV made the place glow. We found all of the utensils, pots, pans, and appliances we needed in the kitchen - and we cooked at home almost every meal. The layout for the bedrooms with a full bathroom in each makes it a very nice place for an extended family or group of friends. Having the corner on the 4th floor let us watch the New Years Eve fireworks in Atlantic Beach from the warmth of the dining room table. The location also blocked the wind on several days, which let us enjoy several afternoons on the deck - and it was COLD on the other side of the building. The furniture in the living room coupled with the 70" TV made watching endless bowl games enjoyable for everyone - even those who actually never looked at the TV and watched for dolphins instead. And yes, the dolphins enjoyed the waves in front of the condo on several days. What a delight. We'll be back to the Penthouse Sweet!

Wow "SWEET" really sums up our entire trip!

I am a foodie and this Kitchen offers all the best for cooking & entertaining -- with an OCEAN view from every angle! Plus, the expansive dining table to serve, with a MEGA Screen TV to boot. Did I mention OCEAN view. Our entire family can eat, mingle and enjoy all in one entertaining space. The MASTER sweet just makes it even better - we appreciate the minimalist decor for a higher impact of the OCEAN. The DECK offers a great view of not only the ocean, but to enjoy others enjoying the beach from every angle. All of our family can enjoy the deck together - it is huge! Then there is the ELEVATOR - it make move in, shopping and move out - EASY. Plus if going to the beach is a BREEZE! All of our family enjoyed the rooms - they all seem to offer great view of the sun and beach - especially in the off-season. I just say they name it correctly - Penthouse "SWEET" everyone enjoyed there experience and we have booked for next year and can't wait to do it again. THANKS!

one of the best condos on beach great view

What a great place to spend a beach vacation. We loved walking on beach every morning and evening then go to pool to cool off. The condo was very clean and well maintained. When we weren't dining in one of the great restaurants nearby we enjoyed movies on the large tv screen in living room. We have recommended several of our friends to this property and now they are repeat guests.

This location is rich in activities for the entire family to enjoy, including hiking trails, a state aquarium, shopping, dining, and some of the best seafood on the planet. Located on North Carolina's Crystal Coast, the beaches of Pine Knoll Shores are nothing short of beautiful. With south facing beaches lined by the Atlantic Ocean, Pine Knoll Shores provides rolling waves for surfers to enjoy and kids to play in.

A lush maritime forest lines the banks of Pine Knoll Shores and serve as the home to many coastal creatures. The Theodore Roosevelt Natural Area is home to the 265 acre forest owned and maintained by the State of North Carolina. It is one of few remaining maritime forests on North Carolina's barrier islands. Take a peak into the forest and you will find a variety of intriguing of seaside and marshy animals from white egrets to deer and even sea turtles.

The Theodore Roosevelt Natural Area features magical trails through Pine Knoll Shores' maritime forest. The Roosevelt Nature Trail is located at the west end of the North Carolina Aquarium's parking lot. This trail is the more rigorous trail with a winding path a little over a mile along dunes and marshes. The Alice Hoffman Nature Trail is located off the Marsh Boardwalk outside the Coastal Plains Gallery at the Aquarium. This trail is the shorter of the two trails and features a viewing bind for perfect views of the marsh on East Pond.

On your trek through the magical trails in Pine Knoll Shores you can expect to see amazing activity from the creatures in the maritime forest. Watch for waterbirds including egrets, ospreys and heron and on the canopy you might catch a glimpse at flycatchers, chickadees and warblers. The trails are bustling with marsh rabbits, gray squirrels, frogs, turtles, and river otters. You may want to bring insect repellent or protective clothing in warm months when mosquitos and gnats are plentiful.
