LOCATION AND SURROUNDINGS

• It's 0.55 miles (900mts) to the beach
• A short 10-minute drive from the Tamarindo Airport
• 1h drive from the Liberia International Airport
• Please allow us to recommend renting a 4x4 vehicle during your stay at Casa Xanadu (Golf cart not recommended). The road up the hill from the beach is not paved and can be tricky to navigate, especially in the rainy season.

Overall a nice stay. The house definitely needs to be repaired (plumbing, air conditioners (master bedroom never worked)/ kitchen (needs exterminating) and needs a daily pool maintenance. In any event we all enjoyed.

An incredible place! The views and the infinity pool are out of this world and the house perfectly comfortable. We loved our stay here and will definitely be back. As a surfer, being able to check out conditions from the bedroom- a mega luxury! There's plenty to do roundabout, but if you are looking for a bit of adventure, head up to rincón de la vieja and swim in the blue waterfalls. Loved casa xanadu- highly recommended.

Better than we imagined!

Words can not describe how beautiful this villa is. The infinity pool, the view from the master suite is breathtaking. 7 women ages 30+ stayed here for my bachelorette and had the time of our life. We rented two cars to get around Tamarindo and highly recommend this to anyone, driving was easy and it was nice having a car to go up and down the hill to the villa. Kris the host was amazing from check in, to helping arrange a chef, to excursions, to stocking our villa before arrival; you couldn’t ask for a better host. Normally I like to change where I stay when I come back and visit but I will be back to this Villa!

The kids enjoyed the pool. Lots of space. The beds are comfy. Attentioned staff. We thought a full cleanup by staff for a 4 days stay was a bit excessive (bathroom, kitchen and beds would've been sufficient). The view is marvellous.

Tamarindo rental

Very disappointed in the rental starting with a harrowing 1 km drive up a steep and narrow unpaved road with large potholes. Furnishing we’re old and two bedrooms didn’t have closets and no place to hang clothing. Bathrooms had one or two hooks for towels but the masterbath towel hooks were not usable. We were told we could use the dryer. Bedrooms were very small and one of the beds had a very uncomfortable mattress.

Can’t beat the view but……

The view was hands down amazing however the property needs some love. The pool had a serious leak and was dirty. The kitchen was very dated with appliances like dishwasher looked like it was just shoved into a spot and didn’t fit. No garage door opener and when we asked about that manager was like oh yeah we knew about that. Would have been nice to know prior to arrival. We arrived on Sunday and tried to reach out to property manager with every number given and were unable to reach anybody. The road to house is very rough and a tad terrifying, Not a bad place but for the price could do a lot better

Million Dollar View

As soon as you walk through the door you are greeted with the best view in Tamarindo. You probably will spend 99% of your time out by the pool but if you don’t like breathe taking views you’ll find a very clean and spacious house. Each bedroom has its own AC unit and the kitchen is more than big enough to cook large family meals. Do not expect to traverse the hill everyday into the city as it has a pretty steep incline, highly recommend having a car or using Uber. Utilize the concierge as much as possible, Cris was amazing and our trip would not have been as fun without her help. Pura Vida!

Great Views of Sunset!

Overall we really enjoyed the view! Kitchen isn't the biggest/nicest but the pool and view more than make up for it. It's a steep hill to drive up so not as easy to walk into town but very short drive to park at the beach.

Beautiful View!

We had 4 adults and 6 children. Overall communication prior to our stay was good and check-in was clear and easy. The house was nice and the view was spectacular. We spent most of our time on the back patio and in the pool. It was a wonderful space for dining and spending time together. The sunsets were incredible! The bedrooms all had AC, the washer and dryer worked well and the garage was nice for keeping the car cool and safe. The cleaning lady came once during our stay and the pool guy was there every other day. We felt safe and liked being a short drive to town - about 5 mins. We visited several local restaurants. Our favorites were Green Papaya (enchiladas), Dragonfly (beef filet), Pangus (Fish), Fish & Cheese (Pizza) and the amazingly good/cheap Mandarina Tropical Juice Bar (tacos, breakfast and smoothies). Our favorite grocery store was Vindi - its clean, well stocked and is fairly inexpensive. They take cc or cash, including US dollars. We also shopped at Auto Mercado but was it was much more expensive. Bring small bills for tips and beer/water on beach. ATMs were everywhere. A few suggestions for the home: -More pillows would have been great (there are only 8 total in the house) -Show pictures of the road! It is a very steep incline with many potholes and loose gravel. You get used to it but the first couple of times feels very scary! I rented a Corolla and in low gear it made it up (slowly!) but had I known about the road, I would have rented a car that sat higher up. -The master bathroom has 3 steps to get in and out of a deep tub. The tile gets very slick so it's quite dangerous. Be prepared if you have this room - I slid and fell hard. I think some extra bath mats would help. Or get ride of that tub! Overall, a nice stay and the view made everything worth it.

5 nights in Tamarindo

Although I didn’t receive check in directions the property manager was easy to track down and arrange. The property sits near the top of a hill which provides amazing views and sunsets. A cleaning service was provided half way through which was a welcome surprise. Staff was kind and accommodating with our minimal needs. There are 4 beds and according to the staff you can get a store away of some sort if needed. ACs work well in the rooms but common areas remain warm but this wasn’t much of an issue. Just a heads up if you plan on sleeping in the common areas. Overall, I would recommend and of course stay again.

Pool a little chilly, but refreshing. We had six adults and there was plenty of room to accommodate us.

Paradise on earth!

The house is one of its kind. It is big, great for kids and the view is really breathtaking. Sitting in the pool in the late afternoons slowly watching the sun set was an unforgettable experience. I was a bit worried about visiting during the rainy season, but it was sunny most of the time and it was quite fun watching the short storm approach coming down the valley. Also loved Tamarindo. I strongly recommend going fishing with Gerald aboard the Rainbow Runner. We went out for a half day and caught a bunch of tuna and ate the freshest possible sashimi for dinner that night on the terrace. Can’t recommend Xanadu enough and can’t wait to go back!

Sensational!

We had the best time! From the moment we walked through the door to the end! First of all, the house has one of the most incredible views we have ever seen. You open the front door and are blown away by the natural beauty of this place. The house itself was comfortable and spacious, and a great place to feel very relaxed. Our kids loved the huge infinity pool! We spent most of our time in the outdoor living areas, but we did enjoy having AC in the bedrooms, even though we did not even it need it most of the time. It is true that the road up is a little bumpy and I definitely recommend a 4X4, but once you are up there, the location more than makes up for it! The house is also located at the beginning of Tamarindo, which is a big plus as you don't have to drive through town every time you leave. Tamarindo is a great town, with something for everyone! We loved the restaurants and the beach down in front of Capitan Suizo was perfect to take the little ones swimming and boogie boarding. The only issue we had was one day one of the AC units would not turn off. We called the property managers and they came and fixed it the same day. Overall would be very happy to recommend this property.

Amazing views!

We booked this house for a family holiday in Tamarindo. First impression is the amazing view when you open the front door! The house was clean, spacious and comfortable. All of the bedrooms had AC and the kitchen was well equipped. We spent most of our time outside in the amazing pool, soaking up the nature and spectacular surroundings. The road going up was a bit bumpy (definitely recommend renting a car), but the location was private above the town, but just a quick drive down to the restaurants, beach, surfing and shopping.

We had a total of 6 adults The home was plenty spacious. The kitchen and furnishings were a bit outdated but the outside pool area and view made up for that!!! Would totally recommend this home. The road to house is quite steep in parts and first time going up was a bit scary but by second day it was part of the adventure. Would recommend 4 wheel drive vehicle and not a car. Once you travel down the hill the beautiful, happening town of Tamarindo awaits you!! Kattia from Horizon Pacific was excellent to deal with.
