We had a wonderful stay at Casa Ventana. The house had everything we needed, was clean, and had a great pool. The concierge service and housekeeping was also stellar. One suggestion- the lip from the road to the driveway is clearly a problem in terms of the angle, as it was covered in scrapes, and several vans/ Ubers damaged the bottom of their cars on it while picking us up or dropping us off. It needs to be fixed or at least have a warning sign. Otherwise, everything was fantastic.

Pura Vida!!!

This is such a stunning property-the views are unparalleled!!! The home is perfectly appointed with 5 bedrooms and 5 1/2 baths. Our concierge Adriana, house helper Hillary and Chef Miriam/staff were all amazing and so accommadating! We will definitely be recommending this location and will be back. Thank you and Pura Vida

Perfect getaway

We visited Casa Ventana with a group of 9, 4 adults and 5 children. The property was great, clean, beautiful views, woke up to Howler monkeys, so serene. The daily housekeeping and breakfast service was such a nice touch and part of the reason we booked this residence. Absolutely worth doing. Allowed the adults to feel like they were on vacation without staying in a hotel. We rented UTVs to get to the beach, this is a must with children. The hill to the house is quite steep. We brought in a chef one night and he was amazing. We love Costa Rica and will definitely visit again.

Beautiful

This property is exactly as advertised. The property was clean. The view was amazing. It is in a great location and a quiet neighborhood with a guard at the front gate. They were strict on who the allowed to enter the neighborhood. So I felt it was very safe. The host was in constant contact, and answered all questions I had.

Beautiful home in excellent location

Our family had a wonderful stay in this beautiful home. The home is close to everything yet a world away in terms of serenity and vistas. If you plan to walk everywhere, note that it is a steep hill climb from the beach area. Very doable if you are in good shape. Otherwise, you will need a car. The home is exactly as advertised and the daily breakfast service was a nice amenity.

Epic vacation

2 families with 10 people. The house and location couldn’t have been more perfect. The home is in an ideal neighborhood with a stunning view. Golf carts are a must to zip in and out of town. Cris and her team were quick to respond to questions. The excursions were great and Gustavo was a terrifIc guide and driver.

Gorgeous home with incredible view

We were a group of 4 couples in our sixties and seventies. We absolutely loved our stay of 10 days. The house is well set up for multiple couples. The pool is gorgeous. The view from the hilltop where the house is situated is absolutely stunning. The kitchen is very well stocked with utensils, dishes and tools, etc. Any requests or questions we had were responded to immediately by Adrianna and by Hillary who was at the house with us every day between 8 and 4. Both were incredible. The bedroom on the top floor is beautiful but difficult to keep cool. We slept well anyway. Great beds and bedding.The house is situated on quite a steep hill which made walking up and down difficult for some of the older or injured people in our group. They used Ubers (plentiful and cheap), while others of us enjoyed the exercise. Be aware that golf carts can’t be used as the hill is too steep. Beach is about 600 meters away. Huge busy, interesting beach with lots of fun beach bars, restaurants and surfers.Highly recommend this beautiful home.

Beautiful views and great location

We were two families traveling together with four teen boys. The house is in a great location (gated community across from beach) with plenty of room for the 8 of us. We worked with Cris at Stay in Tamarindo for renting UTVs, fishing, Catamaran and boat charter. She also booked a terrific private chef. Cris was fantastic and we had the best time. Anything we needed she handled, including last minute requests. Renting a UTV was great because the house is on a steep hill (needed for views! Sunset is breathtaking.) The breakfasts were fantastic (the housekeeper will cook for you.) The upstairs bedroom is a little warm (but we just closed the shades when we ran the AC.) This was such a wonderful trip!

Beautiful Home for Multiple Families!

The home was great for our large group! The fact that almost all the rooms had bathrooms were a huge selling point and the rooms were all large and spacious. The house was very clean, well stocked and the views from every room were wonderful. The house is very close to town, but we rented UTV's to get around as we were traveling with children and the hill leading up to the house is pretty steep. The breakfasts were outstanding. The pool was great and overall we had a great time at Casa Ventana! Cris was very responsive during out stay, and gave a great recommendation for a baker as we were celebrating a birthday and requested a cake. We did run into several hiccups during our stay, I.e. internet went out, BBQ ran out of propane after one use, pool needed to be shocked and the pool umbrella broke. While inconvenient, most of the issues were attended to the same day by the wonderful maintenance staff. The town is cute and the nightlife was fun. Would definitely recommend if you are traveling to the area!

Every room had it’s own AC and washroom which was really nice. Having a laundry room was a huge help too. The highlight of the house is having the joy of watching the breathtaking sunset over the ocean every single evening. What a stunning view! Marina came every morning and cooked us a delicious breakfast and cleaned the house. Her eggs were always perfect. You’ll need a car for sure if you plan on leaving the house. The hill up to the house is really long and steep, it’s tiring to walk up especially for young kids. The location is convenient as it’s very close to the biggest grocery store and the town of Tamarindo. We would definitely go back in a heart beat! Miss it already!

Beautiful home, great ocean view

The layout of this home was great for our 6-person family group. The 3 en suite bedrooms directly off the pool deck and a large upstairs bedroom with separate terrace are spacious and well laid out (we didn’t use the 5th “no view” bedroom). We had some difficulty with the water temperature in a couple of the bathrooms, but once we realized the handle needed to be turned in the opposite direction from a normal setup, all was well. There’s also some finesse required to get the grill to light, but these were both very minor issues to which the property manager responded quickly. We loved the breakfasts prepared by Daniela and appreciated the mid-week cleaning. As other reviewers note, the home is located at the top of a very steep hill - several family members did walk down to the beach and into town a few times during our stay; the walk down is easy and pleasant and the walk up is a good way to work off the big breakfast. We had a rental car and it’s definitely tricky to turn around in the driveway (also, parking in town is its own challenge). Still, we were glad to have a car for quick runs to the nearby Auto Mercado and for day trips. Overall, the home and pool are well maintained and well managed and the team at Stay in Tamarindo is responsive and helpful. We really enjoyed our stay and would definitely work with them again.

Amazing view

First, this was my first time staying in a private home. I usually stay in a hotel when I travel. I celebrated my 40th birthday with 5 of may friends and we all had our own space. The home is very spacious and has an amazing view of the ocean and the sunsets. We opt to buy groceries and have our breakfast prepared which was the best. Two nights we had a personal chef come in and prepared and served dinner. The concierge was very helpful. I did have a couple issues, but they did not make or break my stay. I stayed in the master bedroom and had to let the shower run a bit before I was able to get hot water. Since I felt like I was waisting water, I took cold or Luke warm showers during my stay. The two back rooms had no problems at all. Also, you do need a car or a driver. The beach is near but not a 4 min. walk. You have to walk down a steep hill and walk back up. Which is very hard. The home is close to town and lots of restaurants and beach bars. I must say, I had a great time. I felt comfortable in the home and would stay again and will recommend to others. It was close enough to interact with others, but far enough to feel like you are in a remote place. Perfect setting.

Casa Disappointment - Daily Surprises

Rating Details: The property manager was more than helpful. The vacation rental was clean. I was more than happy with the location. I was somewhat dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We were welcomed by a cement mixer, gravel, sand, and cinder blocks on the driveway that blocked ease of backing out of the driveway that was already challenging because of the steep incline. All drivers including tour shuttle drivers had no turning space and we had to back out in reverse. Three days before it was removed. Toilets in front entrance and bedroom under staircase backed up with foul odor. Dishwasher would not work till 6th day after serviceman. Water leak from wall in garbage can area. Management tried their best to do service recovery and fixes, but this house failed them. Kitchen was inadequate for catering for guests per caterer recommended by management. He suggests max of 12. Suggestions to improve: honest disclosure of condition of property, inspection prior to receiving guests with criteria list, and fix plumbing issues before renting out again. Maribel, daily cook/housekeeper exemplifies Pura Vida. Sunset House and Casa Tortugas which our party rented as well did not have any issues at all. Upper landing staircase and masters closet stayed HOT.

Awesome residence!

The view was even better in person. The layout of the home was spacious and ideal for our family of seven. Everything in the home was in working condition. It is worth noting that although the home is in close enough proximity to the beach and some of the shops and restaurants in Tamarindo such that one could walk, walking entails going up steep inclines to get to the elevated home that could cause a problem for someone not in great physical condition.

Superb property!

The property was described precisely as it is. Beautiful home with great bedrooms, four of which looked out over the panoramic vista of ocean and lush foliage. The infinity pool was a great place for us all to hang out with its ample seating and the views were wonderful. We highly recommend this property. Also everyone from the front gate people to the house staff and groundskeepers were very friendly. And Adriana and Cris always answered promptly if we had any questions.
