Why Auggie and Ann chose Mount Rainier

My wife Ann and I seem to be drawn by the mountains snow capped peaks, spectacular rivers, wildlife, world class skiing, fishing as well as its many hiking & biking trails. In October of 2012 we found ourselves buying this property we named, “Two Cabins and a Caboose” and began turning it into a park-like setting that now offers local and world travelers experiences unlike any other region.

Mount Rainier Getaway

  • 4 of 5

This was a great location to visit Mount Rainier National Park and Crystal Mountain area. It is a very small cabin with little storage area for clothes and gear but has a good kitchen area with gas stove and refrigerator. Large 3 person hot tub in building next to cabin is very nice. And fire pit area in front of cabin is lots of firewood. Area is pretty remote with only a small general store for groceries and a bar close by for food. If you are planning for meals in cabin buy food in Puyallup or Enumclaw area (last chance). Owners have provided games, outdoor chairs and outdoor game equipment for guest use in field across road. owner was building gazebo next to river that is across road from cabins.

We loved everything about the caboose! Charming, efficient, cozy! Great towels, bedding, kitchen!

  • 4 of 5

Auggie and Ann have thought of almost every need you may have. The only change we would suggest is a real door to the bathroom, though not sure how that could be done!!!

Thank you for a unique experience.
