Why Donny Mecke chose Gulf Shores
We fell in love with this house when we first saw it. It is just steps away from a beautiful spacious beach. The views from the west deck are incredible and Bernard Court West is a great neighborhood community and a fun place to stay. The neighborhood is great and the beaches are among the most beautiful in the world. With Tacky Jacks, the Fort Morgan Marina, Fort Morgan, the Dauphin Island Ferry and Mobile Bay just minutes away, this is one of the great vacation get-aways you could ask for!

Loved Fort Morgan, Summer Salt
Very well appointed; washer and dryer, dish washer, everything nice and clean, everything you need to cook any meal, cable TV, beach chairs.
We used both the heat and air conditioning, both were great.
Loved the location, steps from the beautiful, quiet beach. Loved watching the dolphins. Porches were perfect, sat at one in the afternoon and one in the morning.
Only negative was the sheets on king size bed did not fit well.
Totally enjoyed our stay, beach, Fort Morgan, walks through Bon Secour.
This house is on a dead-end street that is so quiet! There was no traffic or noise. We sat on the back deck every morning with our coffee watching the ocean. The owners are so easy to work with! I will definitely be back!!
Wonderful Beach House
We stayed a week over New Year's and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. The house had everything we needed: including a grill, laundry, and a dishwasher. We were a quick less than a minute walk to the beautiful Fort Morgan beach. The house was clean, great instructions, and tips for our stay made it a perfect week away.
We lived our stay at Summer Salt. Convenient access to beach house had everything we needed. Would definitely stay again.
Wonderful stay in Fort Morgan!
We enjoyed everything about our stay at Summer Salt! The rental property was perfect for our family of three. The house was very clean and had everything in the kitchen that we needed to prepare meals. The property had several beach chairs, boogie boards and sand toys available for use in the storage room under the house. The location was absolutely perfect, only steps from the beach! We will absolutely rent this property again!
At the Summer Salt House, you are on the West end of Pleasure Island, on the Fort Morgan Penisula.
You are just a few minutes away from the Fort Morgan Marina, Tacky Jacks Bar and Grill, and the Dauphin Island Ferry. A short ferry boat ride to Dauphin Island and you are at the Dauphin Island Sea Labs Estuarium, where you can learn about and see local sea life from the Marine Biolgist who manage the Sea Lab.
Historic Fort Morgan is just a few minutes to the West. Completed in 1834, Fort Morgan was active during four wars — the Civil War, the Spanish-American War, and World Wars I and II. The fort is most famous for its role in the Civil War Battle of Mobile Bay. Union Admiral David Farragut damned the torpedoes and went full speed ahead to win the battle. The massive fort contains more than 40 million bricks and pays tribute to the skilled masons, many of whom were enslaved African Americans.
The fort features an active living history program that interprets all the military periods and holds an annual event commemorating the Battle of Mobile Bay, where Admiral Ferragut stated, 'Damn the Torepedos, Full Speed Ahead!
The Beach side town of Gulf Shores is to the East and offers many parks, a zoo, shopping public beaches, golf courses and great restaurants galore!
Just a few miles away is the famous Kiva Dunes Golf couse and a little further down the road is the Penisula Golf Club. Many more Golf Courses are around the Gulf Shores area.
