About John Chambers
We (Jan and John) were high school sweethearts in Winter Haven, Florida and were born, raised and educated in Florida. John went to FSU and Jan to U of F. John was a CPA and worked primarily in private industry until his retirement. We have two daughters who are married and each with two children and both living short distances from us.
John Chambers purchased this Cabin in 2003
Why John Chambers chose Blowing Rock
Because we both grew up in Florida, we were fascinated with the mountains and their beauty since we rarely visited this part of the country. We especially liked the cool weather in the summer at the higher elevations. We scoured various areas of North Carolina but fell in love with the Blowing Rock area once we experienced what it had to offer. We found this property after years of searching and bought it because it met our goal of being over 4,000 feet in elevation, provided the look and feel of a mountain home, was located close to many attractions, conveniences and activities as well as providing an abundance of shopping experiences, activities, restaurants and public golf courses. Further, it was refreshing to find that the people in this part of the country are truly nice and pleasant and are willing to help you in any way possible. We are confident you will enjoy your time in this area while staying at our cabin.
What makes this Cabin unique
You know you're in the mountains in this cabin. It has the looks, the feel and the smell of the mountains with great views all around. It is easy to relax, read a book, or get to know each other better while spending time on the decks while siting in the swing or rockers and enjoying the fire pit and sights and sounds of the surrounding trees and animals.

Sports & Adventure Activities
This was all anyone could want in a mountain retreat. Beautiful views & daily outdoor activities.
John has provided all he promised in his property write up. The home was well stocked, clean and comfortable. The cool evenings were warmed by the fire pit which was a great place to sit and talk. We were in Boone for our daughter’s graduation. John, the consummate host, provided a write up of outdoor activities to enjoy as a family. The property was easily accessible with a few thrilling climbs but nothing more than you’d expect in a mountain property. Given the opportunity we would definitely return.
Excellent home..... Big mountain views
Our 2 week stay was fantastic. The home is in a great location close to Boone and Blowing Rock. The front deck has great mountain views, while the back deck has a nice wooded view with a fire pit. The home is in excellent condition, the kitchen has everything you need and then some. The home as 2 master suites which is great. Wonderful fireplace with views from the living room.
The owner John was great to deal with (as my plans changed a bit).
This is the 4th home I have rented and I will return to NATURES NEST!!!!
Thanks Tom. It was a pleasure working with you and we are certainly happy you enjoyed yourselves. We look forward to your return. John
Great place and great location
This is a wonderful cabin with a great private back porch and a beautiful view from the front deck. It is located right between Boone and Blowing Rock, so either is a short drive away. John is a great host and I highly recommend his cabin.
Thanks Richard. I am glad you enjoyed yourselves and that the cabin met your needs. You were a joy to work with and we hope you find an opportunity to make a return visit. John
Beautiful sunset off the deck!🐿and cute chipmunks! Great location.
Very comfortable and great extras--grill,firepit !
Very comfortable, well-equipped
With two master bedrooms, this place is especially suitable for two couples. It was great that we each had a king-size bed and private bath. The kitchen was very well equipped, it had everything we needed to prepare dinner and breakfast, including a grill. The library had a good selection of reading material, which came in handy on our rainy day. The house is large enough that you can get away for some quiet time if needed. We really enjoyed our stay, and would certainly return.
A great place to escape the summer heat!
