About the property

3 Bedrooms, 2 Bathrooms, Sleeps 8

This delightful 120-year-old farmhouse, overlooking a vineyard, sits on two acres. Recently renovated, the house is 3,000 square feet and can comfortably sleep 6-8 people in three spacious bedrooms. Two bedrooms are furnished with queen beds and the third with a king and a view of the vineyards. The remodeled upstairs bathroom is charming with a claw foot tub and pedestal sink.

The downstairs has a large front room, a dining room and a separate parlor that is great for gathering around the fireplace with family and friends. There is a large wrap around porch that has two twin beds, which also have a view of the vineyards. The porch is also a wonderful place to dine on warm summer evenings.

The award winning kitchen (Northern CA Kitchen Design Competition) has a farm table and large sliding doors that open onto a wisteria covered deck and seating area - the perfect place for your morning cup of coffee or evening glass of wine. The adjacent dining room provides an elegant extension of the kitchen and includes another cozy fireplace. A second attractively updated bathroom along with a laundry/mud room is located just off the kitchen.

About owner

I grew up in the San Francisco Bay area, but now live in Napa Valley and have for thirty-four years. As a child I spent many weekends visiting our family home in St. Helena.

owner purchased this farmhouse in 1935

Why owner chose Napa County

This house has been in our family for over eighty years. The house was built in the 1880's and my great-uncle purchased it in 1935 from a historical Napa Valley wine family. People have always loved gathering at the St. Helena house and we want that to continue for generations to come.

What makes this farmhouse unique

The wrap around porch has been the setting for many wonderful dinners over the years. Sitting on the porch eating and drinking wine, while at the same time looking over the vineyards along with the views of the eastern mountains - Priceless!

The St. Helena House.

  • 5 of 5

We had an amazing time at the St Helena House to celebrate our New Years. We had the pleasure to meet the owners of the house upon our arrival - so we got a little tour before our weekend stay started. The house was beautiful and had everything we could have wanted. A full stocked fridge (sodas, waters, beer, etc) plenty of towels for us and our other guests, kitchen supplies and utensils and so on and so on. They really made it easy for us and made us enjoy our stay even that much more. Jim was amazing at getting back to us if we had any questions as well. His prompt replies to any questions were answered in a professional manner and made us feel comfortable to reach out to him at any point during or before our stay.

I highly recommend staying at this house. I know we will be staying here again in the near future!!

Lovely home in fantastic location!

  • 5 of 5

We really enjoyed our stay at the St. Helena House. Great kitchen for cooking and hanging out in groups. The house is well maintained, very clean and couldn't be in a better located. It is at the base of Spring Mountain which in my opinion is the most beautiful area in Napa and has the best wineries up the road. The owner provides information on restaurants, wineries, tours and more which makes planning your days simple. We hope to get back there soon.

Wonderful As Usual

  • 5 of 5

This is at least the third time that we have stayed at this property . . . and again, it was as wonderful as it has always been from the moment we arrived. The house is always immaculate and is situated in the midst of a beautiful vineyard. We always truly enjoy ourselves and will certainly be going back again.

Vineyard-Side Paradise

From my first interaction with JIm through email, I knew this 50th birthday celebration was going to be an event I would remember for the rest of my life! Jim's responsive and accommodating nature made every piece of planning smooth! I brought eight friends and the house never felt crowded! The kitchen and bathrooms are all remolded beautifully, while maintaining the historic integrity of the property. We spent every morning gathered in the spacious kitchen around the large table, drinking coffee, eating pastries from the delicious Model Bakery in town, and laughing! Saturday night, we cooked and shared a beautiful meal in the elegant living room. The beds are super comfortable, the rooms are spacious, the fridge is fully stocked with beverages, and I never felt more spoiled in my entire life by Jim' and his stunning home! I hope to return one day, but until I do, I shall always be grateful to Jim and for my glorious time spent in Napa!
