House was all we expected- and more. Owners were delightful to meet but could have been a bit better at answering questions before our trip. Overall, it was a great experience!

Hills Beach 9 Sky Harbour Drive

Lovely split-level house in great location, very large rooms and well-equipped kitchen. Very clean, with wonderful wraparound balcony. A cable problem with new Roku TV was swiftly resolved. Owners are following our suggestion for improving handrail of inside stairs for increased safety. Overall, completely delightful stay !

Summer Vacation August 2022

Great beach house! Had everything we needed for a wonderful vacation. Very clean and well equipped. I didn’t mind bringing my own linens because I always bring my own anyway. Short walk to the beach for beautiful sunsets and walks to the islands. The hosts were great to work with and very helpful with questions I had before the trip. Definitely will rent here again!

Old school charm

My husband, myself and our three children (9, 5, and 3) stayed here last week. We typically stay at a other spot down the road but thought we would give this house a try. I had previously reached out to the property manager prior to our stay to see if pillows counted as linens which you need to bring with no response. I brought enough for all of us and saw that there were indeed pillows as well as comforters on the bottom of all the beds. It sounds silly but I was annoyed because I wouldn't have had to pack all of them if he would have responded. Check in was easy enough. We arrived a little before 4 pm and there was a car in the driveway leaving the house until 3:58 pm which is fine because check in was "after 4 pm" but it gave me a chuckle. I did notice it had stairs but was surprised that you had to go upstairs for the living room, kitchen, deck, and other full bathroom and down more stairs for the 3 bedrooms and second bathroom. It is definitely not designed for an elderly individual or someone with disabilities that can't climb stairs. Although this is listed as family friendly this house is NOT friendly for little children. My 3 year old was fine but crawling children would literally fall through the bottom railing. It has an old school feel, would everywhere which personally reminds me of my childhood home and I love but not for everyone. As someone reviewed previously the floors do creak which I assumed from pictures so I brought 2 noise machines from home. Each room has a fan in it but with the windows open the house stays pretty cool. It was over 90 one day and the highest it got in the house was 75. The windows are all crank windows so be gentle. I loved the washer and dryer which was convenient. The big yard was nice. Nice big fridge. We didn't use the oven or anything so I can't comment on those. There are two beaches you can go to that are walkable. If you leave the house and take a right then a left there is a small path, the other is if you take a left out of the driveway then another left there will be a path on the right. The second was our favorite spot. The views from the house are fantastic! We even saw the fireworks from Old Orchard Beach on Thursday night! Overall it was a wonderful stay!

Overall a great experience

We enjoyed our stay. The house was plenty big for our family and is just a short walk to the beach. It was clean and everything was functioning fine at the house. There was a new grill and dishwasher. The other appliances and bathrooms are very dated but worked fine. The one thing that could use an upgrade is the light fixtures. There's plenty of sunlight during the day but at night the place is on the dark side. We would rent here again.

Pluses and minuses

Our vacation was wonderful. The Biddeford Pool area was great. However, we felt that the house was very "tired" and much in need of TLC. We would not rent there again. On the other hand, we did not realize that linens and towels were not provided and the owners stepped up to buy linens and towels for us. We split the cost. We very appreciated the help. The interior stairs were difficult for older people (we are 78-80). There is no banister for the lower 4 stairs. One of our group tripped and fell and went to the hospital for 7 stitches in her forehead. In sum, there were some real pluses and minuses, but we are too old (and perhaps too tired ourselves!) for the house.

Great location up on a hill with beautiful breezes and views. Would definitely rent again. A couple of issues. Black fan in living room does not work, there are black ants in living room and near laundry room, just need spraying. Would love to rent next year

Great Location

Great Location! Walk to beach. Quiet neighborhood. Older property however. No Air Conditioning and a little dated. New Weber grill this year which we enjoyed! The bedrooms downstairs were cool but the upstairs remains difficult to endure when it is above 80. A mini split AC unit would make things much better but again a very short walk to the beach is this houses greatest asset!

False advertisement

The location was perfect. The house was not. It is in need of major cosmetic work (wood floors, 70's bathrooms, nail heads sticking out all over deck ), basic home repairs (broken window hardware, screen doors falling off tracks, stairway carpet tiles) and it is miserably in need of updated home furnishings ('wool' plaid couches, kitchen table with missing trim edging, large 70's stereo console complete with records... but no needle) Property manager was rude when inquiry was made about outdoor grill's empty propane tank.

Biddeford Bliss

We rented this home for six women to celebrate a Big Birthday. The listing description is accurate. The home worked perfectly for our weekend! It is set up well for entertaining and sleeping, and the location is perfect. We drove less than 10 miles all weekend because the house and neighborhood were so enjoyable. The living room was large enough for 6 yoga mats, and the kitchen and deck area provided plenty of room for everyone. The home is dated and could use some minor maintenance, but we were not looking for luxury in a beach cottage. The Wifi worked wonderfully. The owner was responsive to questions before our trip. Our favorite thing to do was walk on the sandbar at low tide at the end of the road. It was a very peaceful location for a holiday weekend!

Outdated and Not Maintained

It has a great location that is for sure. But it has the decor of a 70s ski lodge with all knotty pine walls and ceilings. The amenities are equally as dated, and a number of items like the shades, closet doors, etc were broken. As a landlord, I would think a bucket of paint here or there, and some appliance updates could have gone a long way. Especially for the cost...I am crossing this property off of my list.

Worst Vacation Rental EVER!!

This house was beyond neglected and unclean! Spiders & webs everywhere, broken doors and windows, outdated kitchen & bathroom appliances (literally from the 1970's), and so much more that made this stay VERY unpleasant. We couldn't use the downstairs bathroom because of the infestation of daddy long-leg spiders. The upstairs toilet leaked water with every flush; the couches were very dirty and outdated; the DVD/VCR combo TV from the 1980's didn't play the VHS (although there were several VHS tapes); all but 2 fans were broken (and the working ones were filthy). > broken window openers > leaky upstairs toilet > broken closet door & dresser knobs > old uncomfortable beds (fortunately we rented clean sheets) We only stayed because there was no where else to go on such short notice in peak season. The area is nice , but unfortunately the house was not! The owner had the nerve to ask me to measure the windows (during our stay) for new curtains. MUCH more than curtains is needed to make this place comfortable. He & rental company (Evolve & VRBO) should be embarrassed and ashamed to list something that was in such disrepair. Highly disappointed and highly unrecommended!

Terrible and unpleasant.

No oil in tank so so heat and hot water. Has not been vacuumed in a very long time. Had to clean the place ourselves. Add said. “NEW” was no way near new. Was suppose to have WiFi, and of course was not able to hook up to. We also had to fix up the deck lattice in order to sit out there. Spider webs and spiders everywhere. Yuck, yuck. 😩😩😩😩
