Welcome to Blue Bear Cottage! We've ensured this home has everything our family needs for a fantastic mountain getaway and we hope you love it too! The house is perfectly situated towards the peak of Massanutten Village - minutes from the ski slopes, golf courses, indoor water park and the Family Adventure Park. At home, enjoy 3 spacious family room areas, 2 fireplaces, a large basement game room, outdoor cornhole area and 2 decks to take in all that beautiful Massanutten has to offer!

Our book club had our annual reading retreat here and it was a lovely time! The property was perfect for a weekend of cozy reading, group dinners, and movie nights. Hosts were super accommodating, providing a lot of extra cleaning supplies like soap and paper towels. On our trip, groups were able to explore the caverns, a lavender farm, and the arboretum! Overall, it was a lovely trip and we are so grateful we got the chance to stay!

The number of people it accommodates and the configuration of sleeping and bath areas was the draw for us. The unit was clean and well appointed. The ice maker did not work.There were 2 small ice trays. Will was quick to answer my phone call on it. He knew it didn’t work (poor frig brand choice by previous owner) and suggested people could buy ice when out. He should have a bag of ice in freezer. Going down the mountain in search of ice late in evening is unacceptable. In retrospect, Will should have ordered an ice delivery to the unit that evening. Coffee pots were numerous. K cup in kit did not-work but many K cups. Only 1 of 2 drip pots worked. Weather unusually cold. Fire place on main not working—looks broken but no note about it. Lock w/key was hanging open on arrival. We made sure firmly locked on departure. Enjoyed our family stay overall.

It’s a surprise to read your review given the nice conversation we had over the phone. I told you there was nothing we could do about the ice maker other than buying a new fridge. You said you understood given that it was a Samsung. I was happy to accommodate you or give you money towards ice. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn’t. I told you Ive had it serviced multiple times, but it’s a manufacture design error. We provide ice trays when for it doesn’t work because that’s more sanitary. The coffee maker works just fine, I used it when I was up there a few weeks ago and no one has given me this feedback. If you had questions about it you could have just called me. The fireplace also works, you never asked me about troubleshooting it. I unfortunately can’t control the weather in Virginia on a Mountain in early April, but the HVAC in the house works well.
