We’re a family of homebuilders who have lived and worked along the Texas Gulf Coast for decades. Building homes has been part of our family since 1974, and today three generations work together — Mike and Jean, our kids Steve and Amy, and even our grandson Alex. What started as a small family business has grown into something we truly love: creating comfortable, well‑built homes and sharing them with guests who appreciate the same relaxed coastal lifestyle we do.

We don’t manage dozens of properties or run a big commercial operation. We only care for the homes we built ourselves, and we take pride in keeping them clean, well‑maintained, and thoughtfully equipped. Every detail — from the floorplans to the insulation to the outdoor spaces — is something we chose because it makes vacations easier for families like ours.

We also enjoy staying at these homes, which means we experience them the same way our guests do. When something needs improving, we fix it. When we find a way to make a stay more comfortable, we add it. Our goal is simple: to offer places where families can relax, reconnect, and enjoy the slower pace that makes Bolivar Peninsula special.

We chose this neighborhood because it offers the quiet, family‑friendly atmosphere we value on Bolivar Peninsula. Beach Bum sits on a peaceful dead‑end street just two streets over from the Anchors Away area, with easy walking access to the dune crossover for beach days and golf‑cart‑friendly roads throughout the community. The area stays calmer than the busier beach‑access streets, making it a great place for families, kids, and pets.

Another reason we chose this location is its proximity to Gregory Park, just a short walk away. The park features a basketball court and a large covered picnic area—perfect for outdoor fun, family gatherings, or letting kids burn off energy close to home. The neighborhood feels welcoming, relaxed, and safe, with a true small‑town coastal vibe that keeps guests coming back.

Beach Bum is designed for families who want an easy, relaxing coastal stay. The fully fenced play area connects directly to the large shaded space under the house, giving kids and pets room to play while adults unwind nearby. The bar rail with stools along the fence lets parents supervise comfortably, and the gate at the top of the stairs opens straight into the yard for simple, safe access.

The home sits on a quiet cul‑de‑sac street with very limited traffic, wide roads, and open space. It’s a short walk to the shoreline and an easy walk to Tia Juanita’s, Family Dollar, and the public fitness center. Other restaurants, shops, The Big Store, Dollar General, and the doughnut shop are a short drive away.
