I guess if you are reading this review you might be thinking of renting this condo. My advice is don’t.
The description & photos provided by the owner, who is a writer & professional photographer, in my view, use a copious amount of artistic licence & significantly mis-represent her condo.
I emailed the owner after our first day to advise how bitterly disappointed we were & identified many things that fall well below her description & modern expectations. I hoped to share the emails I sent & photos with you, but Vrbo do not allocate adequate space in this review to do so. To give you a flavour: the condo is basic & very tired, cheery no - dreary yes, musty smell throughout, patio boxed in by a 6ft high fence, dilapidated old bar-b-q outside the front door, damaged blinds, kitchen cupboard shared by food, broom/mop & trash, fridge & freezer with opened leftover food, bedroom closet a junk room, kitchenware & utensils all oddments (owner stated they had been ‘re-purposed’ from her mother), small cupboard under ac vent looks like a dungeon entrance. And so on.
On day 3 the owners husband made an unannounced visit on the pretext of addressing the pervading musty smell throughout the condo, being masked by air fresheners everywhere. He stated, if we wanted ‘we could move to a hotel at our cost’ & ‘the money’s ours’ - ‘this is Texas’. How about that for cordial hospitality?
We vacated after 5 days; ‘we could not stay any longer as it was ruining our holiday.’
The owner describes her condo as having ‘all the amenities of a luxury hotel’. Never in a million years (since I emailed her the owner has edited her overview & removed the word ‘luxury’, but this doesn’t alter the reality). In essence it is a low rate condo on a low rent complex. If you decide to rent after reading this review your expectations should be low & then you won’t be disappointed.
By the way, her husband was right; the money is theirs. They were not even courteous enough to authorise a refund for the remainder of our rental.
