Why Jim Bertlesman chose Sonoma County

We joyfully lived in Casa de Luna for a year, while our new home was being built. This unique and coveted location is only a 15 minute walk, 5 minute bike ride and .5 mile drive to downtown Sonoma Square. It is quiet, peaceful and has everything you need to live for a month or a lifetime.

Behind the cottage, there are mountain and meadow views, surrounded by flower gardens, olive and fruit trees, starry skies and full moons. A serene country setting, for both friends and family, is the ideal getaway.

What makes this cottage unique

The Casa de Luna is a specially crafted cottage, situated on one acre and located in the heart of the city of Sonoma. The exclusive cottage offers designer style living in 840 square feet, with field and mountain views from a beautiful patio in the rear. Casa de Luna cottage consists of two major buildings, connected by a breezeway. The cottage is located in the rear of our property with complete privacy and security. Parking is next to the cottage. it is .5 miles to town and a 15 minute walk. The cottage is next to the bike trail, for easy access to restaurants, wineries and the Town Square.

It is also an easy driving distance to some of the most scenic areas of the country...San Francisco (45 minutes), the North coast of Mendocino (one hour), Lake Tahoe (3 hours) and Yosemite ( 3 hours).

Availability still to book your cottage now for the 2013 Sonoma Wine Country Weekend event from August 30-September 1!

Loved this place, had everything and more than we needed. Relaxing chill environment, park like landscape, comfortable, cozy and a walk away to downtown Sonoma. Hosts were gracious and sweet! I will stay here again if they will have me! Thank you Jim and Diana for an awesome experience.

Beautiful property and convenient location

  • 5 of 5

This property was located close to many wineries and downtown Sonoma. The patio was perfect for sharing a bottle of wine at the end of the day. Jim and Diana were more than accommodating! We definitely will be returning for future visits.

Great spot to stay in Sonoma.

  • 5 of 5

Our stay here was part of our honeymoon, and we were looking for relaxed privacy... and we found it here. While we thought crossing the breezeway between the two rooms would be an annoyance, it actually was not an issue at all. Some minor issues with dishes not having been well-washed by who ever was the prior guest, but nothing some quick soap and water didn't fix. Would definitely stay here again.

Owner's Response: We're glad you enjoyed your visit. Our guest are not asked to clean the dishes when they depart. It's usually done by the cleaning crew. We've talked with them to insure this never reoccures Come back soon. Jim

Perfect for our two night stay!

  • 5 of 5

I'll start by saying what nice people Jim and Diane are who rent out the cottage. Their main house is on property as well but we never felt like we didn't have total privacy. Throughout the rental process Jim could not have been more accommodating and responded to all my questions in a very expedited manner. The cottage is very cozy, clean and comfortable. Unusual layout whereas the bedroom and the living/dining/kitchen areas are separated by a short outdoor coveted breezeway. Took a little getting use to at first but worked out just fine. Liked that there were 1 1/2 baths, one being full with shower in living room section and the bdrm. Had the 1/2 with a washer/dryer which was great for us. The bed was extremely comfy. Nice size flatscreen TV in room. What was great was how very quiet it was at any time of day especially at night. Loved the grounds and the chickens!! Very well behaved ladies!! Jim was kind enough to bring us fresh eggs each day which were delish!! When I arrived I had a problem with one of my eyes and Diane called her doctor for me and got me an appointment that day! Thank you Diane!!!! I would definetly return to this cottage should we visit Sonoma again. Oh...fabulous convenient location to downtown as well as wineries! Really enjoyed our time here.

Our stay here was fabulous. The size was perfect for the 2 of us girls as it was cozy but we each got a bathroom to ourselves! We loved being close to Sonoma town center but yet had a countryside feel to it. The fresh eggs in the morning from the chickens was a plus and we enjoyed sitting on the patio at night with our beverages and the fire lit in the chimnella when the night became cooler. We would have loved to meet the owners Jim and Diana who were out of town to let them know we had a great stay! Definitely would come back.
