Everything was clean and communication was excellent. The property had plenty of space for us as well as having an excellent location for the places we visit. Was even able to discover a few new spots. Great experience!

The location was a bit rough, but within a 15minute drive to most places of note. We had two big issues with our stay- 1. The a/c consistently reset itself to either 81 or 84deg, depending on…? It was ALWAYS hot and even after multiple communications with the host, it was not resolved beyond asking us to, “keep trying.” This was definitely not helpful when we went out for the day and left our dog at the house. The host commented that they would monitor the a/c to ensure it didn’t get hot, however upon our return we found it hot with the thermostat, yet again, on eco and set to 81. 2. On the first evening, we put some take out on the kitchen counter. In under 10minutes, there were small ants all over the counter and on our food. When sending a message about this to the host, with some pictures after killing some ants, the host suggested that we may have brought them in from outside and to dust ourselves off before entering the house. That is obviously ridiculous, however, to test the theory, the next day, I put a lid from an ice cream on the counter and waited. All of a sudden, these same small ants marched in along the wall near the kitchen sink. I stated the issue again and the host ”solved it” by leaving some raid spray by the front door and telling us they dropped it off after the fact. Now, they have refused to provide any sort of compensation for this, even after acknowledging the issues and offering 15% off next time. There will be no next time.

Our home has a smart thermostat that automatically switches to Eco mode when no movement is detected. The temperature will automatically adjust when movement is detected. With Texas temperatures reaching 110°F outside, it takes time for the home to cool down to 70°F. Pest control was dispatched the same day to inspect the house. The team confirmed that, given the Texas heat, leaving food, especially candies around the house can attract ants. This appears to be a retaliatory review after the guests refused to take responsibility for property damage. It is clear that the intention was to avoid responsibility for the damage. We have reported the review to the platform and provided supporting documentation.
