Enjoy the tranquility of Kiahuna Plantation at this updated one bedroom with soaring ceilings in the main living room. It comfortably sleeps four with a king size bed in the bedroom and a hide-a-bed in the living room. Since the unit is located on the third floor of Building 38, you will have an expansive view of the historic Moir Cactus Garden and a glimpse of the ocean as you relax on the lanai listening to the chorus of tropical birds. The Kiahuna Plantation is sited on 35 acres of lush green grass, beautiful swaying palm trees, exotic flowers and koi ponds. The orchid garden next to the Moir Plantation house is home to hundreds of orchid plants that are in continuous bloom. Walk a few steps to the activity hut where you can pick up your complementary towels and beach chairs and stake out your spot on the beach. If you need some time away from the ocean, than take a short stroll to the private pool. World class golf is also in close proximity as is shopping and dining in the heart of Poipu. If you are looking for adventure, try hiking in the Waimea Canyon, kayaking the Wailua River, snorkeling off the 'forbidden island', sailing the NaPali coastline, chartering a deep sea fishing trip, or spotting whales in season.

Castle Resorts bills guests for the cleaning fees. For stays of seven nights or shorter, Castle will bill guests $120 for a check out cleaning fee. For stays over seven nights, Castle will also charge a mid week cleaning fee of $64. These fees are in ADDITION to my rental quote since I do not process any cleaning fees between guests and Castle Management.

Poipu is considered the 'dry' side of the island with a great beach merely steps from this unit. Just a short drive away is Port Allen where Holoholo Charters can take you on a breathtaking charter to the NaPali Coast or snorkeling off the coast of the 'forbidden island.' An absolutely breathtaking drive awaits you up the winding road of the Waimea Canyon with a multitude of overlooks offering views of waterfalls, mountain goats, and soaring vistas of the canyon. For the golfers, access to great courses are either steps or a short drive away. Kayakers have fresh water rivers within an easy drive: paddle the Wailua River and hike a short ways to the 'hidden' waterfall.

About the owner: We made our first trip to Kauai in 1998 and fell in love with the 'garden island' which is why we return every year. We come here to enjoy the island's natural beauty, the 'laid back' way of life, the miles of pristine beaches, the multitude of fine..yet casual... dining experiences, the art galleries and fine shops, the world class golf, viewing the NaPali coast and Waimea canyon, but mostly getting away from the 'real' world. We have spent time on all islands that are Hawaii, but Kauai remains our favorite since we love all things unique to this island.
Why the Owner Chose Poipu, Koloa, HI, USA:
We wanted to own a piece of paradise that was on a great beach, close to some of our favorite restaurants and shops, be located on the 'sunny' side of the island, and offer a lifestyle free from the 'maddening crowds'. Poipu was a natural for us.... Kiahuna Plantation allows us to spend time in Poipu with an 'old Hawaii' feel to it since its landscaping and tropical, cooling breezes provide a natural charm, but still offers the amenities we desire while on vacation. In 2015, we installed all new furniture throughout the unit and selected artwork which we feel captures the essence of Kauai. We also added a large smart TV as well as a new microwave. We feel our unit provides tremendous comfort and pride of ownership.
The Unique Benefits at this Condo:
When we vacation, we are looking for peaceful comfort as well as immediate access to the activities we enjoy. We love being on the top floor for the quiet as well as the view from the lanai. If we desire to dine in, a full kitchen provides that opportunity, but we also want access to great restaurants without long drives. Poipu Beach is one of the world's top rated beaches, but yet it is not 'blanket to blanket' crowded. The sunsets at Poipu are also a spectacular show of nature, and the best viewing spots are a few footsteps away. We will never stay in a hotel room again on our annual trips to Kauai since this unit gives us the space, comfort, quiet, and amenities we expect.
