About Anne CHARON
We are are a retired French couple who live in the SW of France but come to Paris to see our children. We have recently completely redone this apartment so everything is brand new and fully functional. We both grew up in Paris and love this area as it is vibrant and very central to everything Paris has to offer as well as being safe and in an upmarket area.
Anne CHARON purchased this Apartment in 2003
Why Anne CHARON chose 16th Arrondissement
The location of our apartment is truly fantastic. It's in a very exclusive and safe area which has fantastic local boutique stores plus all the basics expected from Paris...bakeries, cafes, grocery stores etc...Avenue Montagne which has the most exclusive shops in Paris is only 2 minutes walk, plus the Champs Elysees is a 3 minute walk.

Great location in 16th Arrondissement
We recently spent 2 weeks in this apartment and loved our stay.
As advertised, the location is excellent. We were only a few minutes walk from the Trocadero, the Seine, Champs-Elysees, Arc de Triomphe, a Metro stop, restaurants, grocery, a Pharmacy, and an open-air market. It is in a quiet neighborhood but very close to transportation that will quickly get you to all parts of the city (and beyond). Access to the apartment was very secure.
The apartment was very comfortable and nice. The couch was comfortable, but an additional chair for reading would be a welcome addition for those rainy days.
As noted, the bedroom is reached via a narrow spiral staircase to the lower level, so it is definitely not recommended for those with physical limitations. The bedroom in the lower level was very nicely appointed, well-lit, quiet, and provided ready access to the bathroom.
We both like to cook and found that the kitchen needed a few items to support that. There were only steak knives and a bread knife available, so we did buy some small knives for food preparation. Utensils for turning food would also be helpful.
Upon check-in, the apartment was quite cool and were told that the building heat was yet not on for the season. We contacted the owner and the concierge immediately provided a small heater.
Communication between us and the owner was excellent. Before our stay in Paris, we had an opportunity to meet her in southwest France. She provided many recommendations for restaurants, shopping, Paris attractions, etc. She continued to do so after we were in Paris and readily addressed any questions or concerns we had during our stay.
So, a very comfortable apartment in an excellent location made for a great home base for our 2-week stay in Paris.
Perfect location in the heart of Paris
It was a seamless transaction with Anne from start to finish—she was pleasant to deal with, prompt with her communications (and clear in her messages!), and gracious in accommodating our requests.
The location of Anne’s apartment was so ideal. While it’s a short walking distance to an iconic landmark, the Arc de Triomphe, the vibrant Champs Elysees, rows of restaurants and shops, and public transportation, her place was tucked in a quiet and safe street in the neighborhood. It was the perfect balance between convenience & accessibility and restful living.
The tastefully furnished apartment is large and well-appointed. For our family of 3, it was a comfortable, spacious (and super clean!) accommodation that had many amenities. What a treat it was to be able to do laundry after more than two weeks of travel!
We’re really grateful to Anne for opening her lovely home to us.
Beautiful home and location! Felt just like home away from home. If we can make it back to Paris we will be more than happy to stay here again. The owners are so nice and respond promptly to your questions. Thank you for letting us share your home while we had the experience of a lifetime with our kids!
Falls a little short
I had contacted the property owner 3-4 weeks prior to the check in date to get instructions for accessing the unit. It was then that I was notified that she wanted a significant security deposit and a short term rental agreement signed( the unit had been booked for several months). This deposit was to be paid to a paypal account outside of home away or in cash on arrival. Needless to say, I was not at all comfortable with this- especially at this late point in time. The unit owner did agree to waive the deposit- and I did inform her that I had contacted homeaway with my concerns where I was informed that I did not have to pay this. We were instructed to contact the housekeeper on arrival and she would let us into the unit and show us around. She at first did not respond to our call. We were then in the process of calling the owner when the housekeeper appeared from across the hall. She did not speak english, of which we were aware, but it wasn't a lot of help. There was a booklet there with some instructions but the details were vague and/or outdated. The spiral staircase was very narrow. We did not take our luggage downstairs as we felt it too dangerous. The unit was satisfactory as far as cleanliness but had obvious signs that more needed to be done. The bed and pillows were hard. There were 4 English channels of the TV- all of which were news. Any other material in the unit was all in French. The main floor was spacious and the unit well situated.
I am very surprised of your review. A short term rental agreement is necessary to protect the owner against bad surprises. It precises the rules of the rental. It has been sent one month before your arrival, which is not at the last moment. In all the rental units I visited, the security deposit is needed and I never had any bad experience concerning the reimbursement of this deposit, I always did it the day after departure.
The housekeeper that has welcomed you cannot be waiting in the apartment, considering the flight delays or any delay between the airport and the apartment. So waiting for a few minutes does not seem to me a matter of concern.
The visitors guide in the apartment (I never saw any guide of this type in the apartment I rent) is not there to replace a tourism office. It gives you some useful information concerning the area.
I never had any complaint concerning the bed and the pillows!
Information concerning the devices are in English, as far as I know, unless someone took them away! If you have had any problem with something, you had my phone number and you could have called me.
We do not have english speaking channels in France, except news. I am not responsible for that point.
In the heart of Paris
An amazing place that has such style and a 'welcome home personality' after each day of enjoying the beauty of Paris. I have stayed many time in Paris in many different areas. I am giving this a 10+ as I would stay in this wonderful place and location again. It is quiet, secure, ground floor and a delightful French building manager. The owner is likewise a delight with great communication in the process of renting, arrival and departure instructions.
Great Location in Paris!
Excellent location in Paris - weather was perfect and we were able to walk with very few exceptions to all the sights we wanted to visit. Very safe and upscale neighborhood.Anne the owner is extremely helpful and kind. And as others stated Regina who takes care of rental and check-in is friendly and kind and there was no problem with the difference in our languages.
Our apartment is so very central, close to all the main attractions Paris has to offer. It is located in the very exclusive area just by the Champs Elysees where the most luxury shops and 5 star hotels are located. The area is very safe and very upmarket.
