Jesus from New York stayed for a work trip, wasn`t expecting much from a budget Morehead City rental, and left calling it the comfiest sofa he`d ever sat on. That sentence is either the most enthusiastic sofa review in the history of vacation rentals or a genuine signal that Crystal Cove`s interior quality consistently exceeds its price point. Given the rest of the review set, it`s probably both.

The large Smart TV handles movie nights and streaming. The coastal beach theme throughout gives the unit a personality that reads as intentional rather than assembled. The open layout keeps the kitchen connected to the living space so whoever is cooking is never out of the conversation.

The price was decent, check in was easy and stress free. The master bathroom was very tiny. The other bathroom was a decent size. The master bathroom shower started backing up. Because it was late and I needed to shower, I ended up clearing the drain which you can only imagine what that was like. We stayed for 13 days and I think I got a total of 2 hot showers. All the other showers I always ran out of hot water. Showers always ended freezing cold. The pots and pans were disgusting. No way I was cooking my family a meal with those pots and pans. The washing machine would always get thrown off balance no matter the size of the load. And you could tell there had previously been a cat in there because Id get a wiff of cat urine from time to time. The guest bathroom smelling strongly of sewage even when no one had used it. To the point that I had to use a plug in and keep the windows cracked at all times because it smelled so bad. I
